Uhm - howdy! *Almost trips over her spurs*
Well, who am I trying to fool, no Midwest heritage at all (actually only 2 distant relatives in the whole US), but since I was invited... *Throws away the spurs, slaying a stray passerby*
I'm a bit excite because of the event - my first Mene event!

hehehe. Hey Nalah! :D Where are you from, if I might ask? XP
Yeah, this thread isn't specifically reserved for Midwesterners, but it's the only hangout thread I've ever made, so I thought we could get some use out of it. XP
Yeah, Celes is one of my favorite events on Mene, just because the theme is so awesome. Starry things are fantastic. XD *attracted to shinies* Also, the theme is Greek/Roman/Egyptian, so the commons that usually come out are quite nice. ^_^
I'm sure you'll enjoy yourself. :D Get even more excited! XD

I know right? Long time no post (in here at least). I've been meeting some cool new people and thought we could make use of this thread again. You should come hang out when you get a chance.

Oh, yes, rather. I have to basically double my value. >.< My entire invo is worth one freaking scarf, and a little bit more, but not by much. He doesn't know about it though. It's supposed to be a suprise. I tend ot pick up EI's too often, and then I end up donating, and then i never have gold for my quest. ><
Oh the lab work itself I loved! It was the lab reports that I utterly despised. I didn't think I should have to spend three hours in the lab and then five more writing up what I did in the lab, only ot earn a poor grade.
Ah, well, math I find fairly simple, it's straightforward and there is rarely more than one answer to a question. Plus, I have a kick butt calculator that is just too incredibly awesome, and does everything for me.
Ha! I know someone like that too! For the same amount of time!

I'm sorry Gaia didn't do anything about your hacked account. That blows man. I'd be a mess if I got hacked. I've spent a lot of RL money on Gaia, and it's scary to think all that money could be gone in an instant.
I try to collect at least one of every EI, but it's getting hard to stay caught up. :/ It sucks, because I think EIs are some of the most quality items Gaia puts out. You can tell they put a lot more effort into them than in common updates. It's kinda sad in a way. :(
Ah, okay. Yeah, lab reports do suck! They're time consuming and not fun or particularly educational. But school's mostly regurgitation anyway, sooo yeah. XP
Hehehe. Bitchin' calculators =

*Fetches a shovel to get rid of the body* :P
Well, I'm from Germany, which should pretty much explain my terrible grammar (though, in defense of myself, the missing "d" up there was a typo - expect to find lots of those wherever I am, they seem rather intent on clinging to me).
Greek/Roman/Egyptian? I will have to send threats to PayPal then - dammit, activate my account, I need gold! Lots of gold! *Menacingly brandishes her shovel*
It's a shame this is happening right when I have to work 26 hours a day. This seems to be just the kind of event that I would like to enjoy all day long!

 Your English is superb. :D I have a RPing buddy on Gaia who's from Germany and she also has great grammar. I swear sometimes foreigners have better grammar than native-English speakers. XD
 Has Paypal been giving you the runaround? Verifying your account is kind of annoying, but you only have to do it once and it'll be good to go after that. :D
Yeah, if you like Greek/Roman/Egyptian items, then you've come right on time! XD The new commons are half price until the end of the event, so it's good to buy what you can during the event. I've been saving for at least a month now. XP I always buy as much as I can.
26 hours a day!? HOLY SHIT. What do you do? How do you sleep?! :gonk:

Why, thanks - it's a bit reassuring to hear that at least I do NOT sound like a three-year-old. Well, at least not grammar-wise... :D
(But I guess it just comes with writing in foreign languages. You automatically start to actually think about whether those sentences of yours make any sense at all, while with your mother tongue you just... write whatever your mind comes up with at the moment.)
Ah, those bastards. When they wrote 2-3 days, why did the not inform me that it's more likely 3? :P
What's worse is that over here banks don't operate on weekends, so I'll most probably have to wait until Monday, when I was actually really looking forward to giving the CIs a try (even though they don't fit my current outfit). Darn you, PayPal, darn you!
Sleep? Yes, I think I've heard about it. It's when you actually close your eyes for more than 10 seconds, isn't it?
No, it's just that I spend about 10 hours daily in my job (programming =3), but I also have exams during the next couple of weeks. For example one on Tuesday, with 3000 questions I still have to memorise - and so far I'm at #250... :P

I should really post here, since I live outside Chicago.
I've been watching Glee, Fox is one of the few channels I actually can get with my reception. It's a cute show. It reminds me a lot of the movie Election, style-wise, and there's nothing wrong with that. And adding musical numbers to dramas is very Bollywood, also good.

I'm sad.. I thought I had set it up to record late week but apparently I didn't. I'll have to download or hulu it or something. I did see the pilot though. It was pretty cute

Beware, Eroy - I might take you up on that offer if I ever happen to find a reason to visit Kansas! :D
You wouldn't believe how hard it can be to find a good group where I'm currently living. In my old hometown I never had any problems finding D&D (especially Eberron) groups, but over here... a mixture of all systems available, but no good old D&D.
@MissYoungDelilah: Sorry for replying so late, I missed your post. No, it was not referring to leaving (though I think I did shortly afterward), but rather to Eroy's post.

You should XD. It took a while for my boyfriend and I to find a good group too. We had signed up on a website to try to find a group but we just didn't mesh with them very well. They were all older and their playing style was a lot different than ours. Finally we found out a guy at work who was a gamer too and we managed to start a group with him and some of his friends. It's a good group but I wish it was more of a 'home game' style, if you know what I mean. Our DM only runs mods and he's very 'to-the-book' when it comes to running them.. so that can get a little unexciting. Like I don't really get to choose my character's destiny.. It's all already lined out for her.

I feel your pain. It can get especially annoying when you're excluded from every other adventure because you already played the module with another group. :(
And you need the right DM - I've only once been lucky enough to actually find one. He never ran anything homemade, yet even though he followed the pre-made books to the very last sentence he still managed to still make things very exciting and fun. Rare ability, though.
But at least I seem to be a bit more care-free when it comes to finding groups. With the right people I can enjoy a purely technical dungeon run just as much as I can delve into highly artificial storytelling soap operas. :D
I only really miss playing D&D... :(

Ya, my bf used to run a home campaign for us that I really enjoyed. But he wanted to be a player this time around so that's why the other guy is DMing. And he does a fine job at it.. I just wish he could make the mods a little more interesting. But not everyone has that gift I guess.
Well I wish you luck in finding a group eventually. It'll happen!
