  • I'm listening to Christina Aguilera (well, that's the song that's playing here), posting here, waiting for my friend go sign back on from being at work, and generally just passing the time.

  • Well, now I'm listening to Green Day live in October '05 at the Warfield in LA, playing the song King for a Day.

Christina Aguilera actually has a great voice. She was skanky there for awhile, but it looks like she's turned herself around.

Woo! Dishes are finished!

Now my mom's ranting on the phone. It may be awhile...She's had trauma.

  • Skanky >.<;;.
I don't think she was, I think she was just developing her personal style. She certainly went about things in her very own way, and didn't let people rag on her for it, and just did things her own way... but there was nothing to turn herself around from, because she wasn't doing anything wrong.

She has a marvelous voice. I've yet to decide what I think about her present stuff.

Well, she probably wasn't REALLY skanky, but she did put on the persona in public quite well...though, I guess not as much as the Britney's and Paris's of the world...hahahahaha. GROSS.

Anyways, she can sing and dance, and I totally have respect for the girl.

I haven't heard any of her new stuff really. I haven't thought about her music for a long time though...I got into other things and left her by the wayside. Is it any good?

  • It's ... different.
It has kind of a retro, forties feel, and full of soul, but sort of mixed and sampled a bit. It's different from what she's done in the past, and it's hard to tell if people would like it, but I think it's pretty good, at least musically, if not content-wise.

Well, that sounds great actually. Maybe I'll download it.

Oh my, Christina just doesn't fit in my music library. hahaha. I have faith that it will be good though.

I'll have to DL it and see what I think.

I really love big band stuff. :D All those years of my grandparents making me listen to it paid off.

I don't listen to the radio except for NPR and Loveline. I pretty much ignore all music on the radio these days because ClearChannel seems to own everything. :X

And they play the same shit over and over and over...ugh.

I used to work at a radio station in college, and I can't stand what I hear on regular radio. :(
I miss the radio station. It was such a fun job. And I got to learn about cool new music before everyone else! Liiiiike, the Postal Service. That's probably the first band I went "OMGWHUT!" for when I worked there. I played it all the time...like, a year before they became popular on regular radio.

  • The radio station I listen to is stationed in Canada and isn't owned by ClearChannel, thank goodness =3.
Though it's an alternative station and doesn't play Christina. What I've heard from her was on Fuse [music t.v.]

aah, awesome!

YAY Canada! heheh. I like a lot of things about Canada, yet I dunno if I'd want to live there. I've only been there a couple of times for short periods, but they were all in touristy areas. I hear it's nice though. I'd like to go to the eastern coast and see Prince Edward Island and stuff.

Anyways, I totally just started rambling. *ROFL*

Fuse music TV? huh> i've never heard of it. Better than MTV?

Anything musically has to be better than MTV. I mean, do they even play videos anymore?

  • No, they don't >.>;;.
    It's actual music television.
Just about every show on it is another creative way to play music videos, and they don't just play top 40 videos, either, which is wonderful. On many of their shows they mix top 40 pop/rock with old stuff, and even older stuff. It's beautiful <3333.

NICE!

Well, that would be a refreshing change of pace.

Now, i can't say I don't watch those MTV shows, because well, I DO. In fact, I watched about 30 mins. of MTV today. It was about kids with autism. I'm not sure I learned much from it or anything, but at least it wasn't Room Raiders or anything. *ROFL*

  • Ha... I don't watch much t.v., but when I am, it's mostly Fuse, because I'm a music freak.
Which is precisely why I don't watch "Music" Television, or Vh1.

Hello...I followed Kori here XD

Oh my god, yes. FUSE is leagues better than MTV. Like Kori said, their shows are all different and creative ways to show music videos.

MTV programming make me sick. How many shows about spoiled rich brats can one station air in one day? *vomits* If you're lucky you might catch videos early in the morning or late at night. And then it's usually predominantly hip hop and other stuff that is not my personal taste.
FUSE plays the good stuff

  • I think about a dozen too many XD.
And why, whY, WHY, when they do play videos they're always CUT OFF HALFWAY THROUGH.
At least if you're going to center a show around videos you could, I don't know, maybe play videos once in a while.

My hamster was making noises. I had to go check and see what she was doing. Just running crazily in her wheel as usual. She's damn cute. XP

Well, I have to look into FUSE sometime. Do you get it on regular cable? Or is it something more local?

Do they play electronic music videos? And not Fatboy Slim or Moby...Like IDM and experimental. Aphex and the like.

Hey Netverk! How's your evening been? Are you posting like crazy to earn gold like the rest of us?

*fingers explode* thank god it's almost my bedtime and I can stop posting!

  • Yep, Ashley's doing the same as we are...

She's the New York one :P.

No, what they play is primarily in the mainstream range, genre-wise, just not entirely a block of "omgzr0rznewvids".

    Hamsters are adorable XD.

We had one named Stewey... it died young though :(. It was hyperventilating and couldn't breathe because something seemed to be blocking its airway, and then it just died :'(.

Hiya :)

Yeah, I've been posting more than usual, lol. My keyboard is in rough shape though, so I'm not going as quick as I want to or could.

As far as I know, FUSE is available on cable. They play a pretty wide variety of music, but I'm not sure about the bands you mentioned.

Kori: Yeah, it sucks and it's sad because TRL is the show that introduced me to what is now my most favorite band ever.

Tired fingers suck. I keep typing more slowly and with more errors. XP

ooh, New York. That's where I wanted to go to college. not NYC, but Syracuse. There would have been an assload of snow there, so I'm kinda glad I didn't go. heh.

Aah, I see. Well, new music is new music after all. I'm really anal about my music. Though I've heard a few mainstream things these days that have been okay.

Oh, what a sad hamster story! WOW, I'd be super-sad if that happened to my hamster.

But, they only have a lifespan of 1-2 years, so I can't expect much out of her.

Her name is Ham-chan, because I couldn't come up with anything better. LOL. Hammy, Ham-chan...it's a good name. *rofl* :XD
