LOL..buying toys for your little one that you want to play with yourself ;)
|
Yeah, it's funny too because all the toys that were around when I was growing up have made a comeback.
|
okay i have to complain ...
I"m so MAD!!!   I traded my queen's crown for stuff I didn't want (i wanted pure) cuz the person kept PMing me and saying how much they really wanted the crown blah blah blah so i sign on today and I see this: http://www.menewsha.com/viewtopic.php?t=15004 THIS JUST MAKES ME FURIOUS!!!!! i sold it instead of holding onto it like i was planning so that someone could buy it that really wanted it ... and now i have a crapload of cloaks and scepters that I didn't even want, but i have to hold onto to sell later to hopefully make up for the crown. I'm not selling to get uber profits, as a matter of fact, like i said, i was selling so i wasn't a hoarder and so i could give a newer member a chance at a queen's crown. JUST SO MAD I COULD SCREAM!!!!! |
Jaz, I saw that too. :( Exchangers annoy me. Period.
|
That sucks! Hope you're going to PM them and give them a piece of your mind! I most certainly would!
|
Aww, Jaz, that's a disappointment! I'd PM them as well. It sucks when you're trying to be nice, foregoing what you really want and then you discover that in the end, it was for nothing. :( I know a lot of people who really want a Queen's crown to have, not to trade away.
|
Jaz, that is utter CRAP! So sorry for that.
|
Hugz Jaz. That's just wrong.
|
Aww Jazz - that stinks - here you thought you were really helping someone out and then they go and re-sell it.
How was everyone's weekend? Mine was very busy - I went to the bike race in Philadelphia yesterday - it was lots of fun. Was there for the start at 9am and spent most of my time on the parkway and Lemon Hill and made it back to the stands for the finish - it was lots of fun. :) |
Mine was pretty...full as well. Jess (my girlfriend for those not on Gaia) and I had a huge fight and almost broke up. Saturday was a date day and we went to see Pirates 3 and went out for chinese. Sunday I went back to my dad's house to pick up more stuff and to run errands for the apartment.
and I got a pedi. That made me uber-happy. The pedi honestly made my weekend. Not to mention the chinese my dad bought Sunday night since I was home. And the chinese that my friend and I just had for lunch. Yeah, I like chinese food :P It makes me happy. |
Pedicures are definately happy making.
Sorry to hear about the fight - near break up fights are always difficult. I've been craving Chinese food lately - but there is no good Chinese food near my work :( But I do get super yummy Korean and Thai food . .so I guess that will have to due for now. |
MMMM, Thai...I'll have to do that one of these days soon.
Once I finish all the Chinese leftovers. :D Thanks for the warm wishes, it's tough, but we're going to work on it. |
Hugs Jessi, those fights are always rough. It's good to hear you are working on things. You are in my thoughts.

Well, disaster struck today! The inspectors came in this morning to check our house out for the buyers and well, they didn't even want a regular home inspection, so it was just the termite guy, the foundation guy, and the plumber.
Termite guy gets here and looks around and raves about how nice the house is and how there are no problems whatsoever with termites. Whew! Foundation guy comes in while termite guy's getting ready to leave. He checks the place out, does levels, and declares our foundation perfect (which is a rarity down here because of the darn clay soil!). Whew 2! So the plumber's starting his hydrostatic test as the foundation guy's getting ready to leave. He says, "I remember checking this house out 3 years ago. It'll pass no problem! We just have to wait about 15 minutes for the test to finish. ... ... WRONG! We have a stinkin' leak somewhere! Dang it! So he's coming back Wednesday to do an isolation test, which is going to run us $350 or more, depending on how many leaks he finds. He thinks it's just one, but you never know. So talking to the realtor, she's telling us it could be something like $1,200 or it could be something like $6,000 to fix! Worst case scenario - $10,000-12,000! ARGH!!! |
Eee! Those high end estimates sound like a lot!! Hang in there, Aliena! There's a good chance it won't come to nearly that much!
Fixing leaks does sound like a good thing to do though because I remember what happened at my parents' house a few years back. They had a small leak (about 20 gallons a day) that attracted tree roots to grow into small cracks in the pipe, and the tree roots grew and blocked the pipe and caused a MAJOR sewage backup that flooded the whole basement (dirt crawlspace) which wouldn't have been a big deal except all my childhood toys and stuffed animals were down there, and almost all of them got ruined. |
Whoops! I put an extra 0 in that $12,000 one. Not $120,000! That's way too high!
Yeah, we're hoping it's small. Our foundation had no problems, so that would tell me it's a small leak or else a really recent one. We won't know the financial damage til Wednesday. Man, I can't wait for July! All this mess and stress will be over! And that sucks about the toys. I remember we lived in an apartment complex that had an outdoor storage closet on our patio, so we put some boxes in there. Well, when it came time to move, I got the boxes out and discovered a rat had gotten into the box that contained my childhood toys and had chewed and pooped on them all. I had to throw them all out and that was a total bummer. |
It's really saddening when childhood items are ruined isn't it?
I remember how much it upset fawN at the time when she discovered what had happened to all her things.. Here's hoping it is just a small problem Aleina! and doesn't take too long to fix either..i'm crossing my fingers for you http://i16.tinypic.com/5y06bt4.gif |
Oh no - plumbing problems are the worst - here's hoping it's something small and insignificant.
|
Plumbing problems are certainly the worst. We still don't have our leak fixed so the basement is still soaked. The way I look at it is that it's not my stuff getting ruined, it's the landlords.
|
Best of luck with the leak, those things are SO tricky to find and fix. But like you said, if the foundation's fine, the leak is small or new and shouldn't be too bad. Keep us updated and again, best of luck!

isn't it pretty? by lilim *glomps lilim* i have to catch up in here. I must confess I did PM that person that won my crown and they must have sent me about 10 PMs back apologizing so I conceded and said I didn't care if they used the crown to get the king's one. I am still a little miffed cuz I took theirs over one that had more gold in it but whatever. It's pixels. I will survive. And having hubby home 24/7 is cutting into my online time  |
At least they apologised Jaz, but that user is an exchanger, i've only ever seen them post once outside of the exchange actually!
That's another lovely piece of art from Lilim..she says she can't draw eyes very well but yours has come out beautifully http://i14.tinypic.com/6cskyl3.gif |
Jaz, I love that pic! As for the exchanger--forget 'em, not worth your time! You have US to play with. And tell Kevin to get a hobby so that you can continue with your purkle hobbies
And Lilim, if you see this, you did a fantastic job, it's beautiful! |
I think Jaz is being pretty forgiving, i'd still be mad if someone had done that to me! I'd go and shout at them and they'd probably be afraid of getting banned for pissing me off http://i19.tinypic.com/4ptgjkp.gif
