Ohh.. speaking of siggy quests... I have this thing where I can make signature bars... I know you've seen them. I bet those would be cool to show off a quest in your siggy. I might make one to see how it looks :)

bet that's put him off throwing rocks into the pool anyway!
that shock of icy water can be almost a heart-stopping shock i know! it literally takes your breath away.
here we just don't get the extremes of temperature that you guys do, because we're such a small landmass surounded by water, people complain about the British rain but i think i prefer it to sub-zero tempratures for weeks on end, or baking desert at the other end of the spectrum.

How's everyone doing today? I've been working my fingers to the bone. Our imaging system at work was down for two days so we're trying to play catch-up! I bought myself a pretty crown....they're cute! :D

Well, my husband saw the rocks and told him he had to get them off the ice before it melted and they sank to the bottom of the pool... well, the day he went out there to sweep them off the ice he ended up falling in, but fortunately he had an older boy spotting for him and he pulled Alex out almost immediately. Alex said the icy water sent a shock through him before his knees had even gotten wet.

It was very smart that he had someone there spotting him while he did that!

Hi all - just got back from lunch. Things are so quiet right now - it's almost the end of finals week so there are barely any students for faculty around at the moment.
I've been thinking and I decided that I need to bring a pair of slippers into work for when I take me shoes off at my desk!
My boots yesterday rubbed a spot on my big toe a little raw, and my shoes today are irritating the spot - and I don't have any band aids around to cover it up with.
Oh well - I guess I'll add the slipper to my to-do list

the male crown is great! it's only a little bigger, and if you ever decide to change your avatar, it would come in handy.

i find the idea of you sat at your desk in your slippers most appealing!
personally i think all workplaces should supply their staff with slippers, working in a food factory i wear protective footwear all day, but i know that if i was in shoes for any number of hours i'd just long to kick them off and snuggle my toes into something more comfy!
made a decision now..if i ever win the lottery and end up owning a company, my staff get free slippers to shlep about in all day! good supportive ones with rubber soles too. no sueing ME if you slip over! 8)

My, my... hope it's not an industrial shop.
Don't forget to give 'em snuggly robes too (with monograms of course), then you can keep the heat down but keep everyone toasty and cozy at the same time.

I wear my slippers and go barefoot all day :) I work from home so all I have to do is roll out of bed and wander in to the laundry room (my makeshift office, lol). Of course I had to work for 6 years to be able to stay home.
When I did drive in to work everyday we would have people wandering around the building in slippers. Since we all work in the cubicle farm taking phone calls it didn't matter as long as we were good on the phone.

LOL! Our division sent us white fluffy robes with our department name on them for Christmas. I don't wear it though because I look like Frosty the Snowman's wife in it.

I didn't last long enough at my last job to be able to work from home. Medical stuff kept me at home for a long time, and then my FMLA ran out. D:

The slipper talk reminds me of when I was a graveyard casino cashier all alone in a booth night after night waiting on customers. We had around 4 hours at a stretch before and after our lunch break so I used to slip my shoes off and stand and walk around my booth in my stocking feet. It was all well and good until one night a superviser came up to my window to tell me something or other and said "Oh and surveilance wants you to put your shoes back on" See, that night I had worn white socks for some reason and the cameras noticed. Since there was heavy stuff that could have hurt my feet if it fell on them, they were just being careful but it was so funny to have it brought up after going shoeless for a very long time.

I hate wearing anything on my feet, including slippers. Dont know why, but I cant stand to have my feet covered. Its one of the main reasons I hate winter so much, because the floor is always so cold that I have to wear socks constantly, even to bed. When it warms up and I know in staying in for the afternoon, the first thing to go are the socks. Summer on the other hand, are lucky to see a single pair of socks from me, since I prefer to wear sandles if I go annywhere :D

Jim claims my perpetual unshoed state is one of the things that makes me a "tree hugger" He is of course being silly about the tree hugger part but I did grow up in So Cali where the weather is almost always mild and perfect for barefeet or sandals

i like to have toasty warm feet, so unless it's 80 degrees in the house, i've always got something on my feet. i love fuzzy slippers and warm socks, though. i don't wear them out in the summer, but in the house, always.
besides, there's an empty lot next to my house, and it's just dirt. when the wind blows, it blows dirt. when it rains, it washes dirt down my street (and i live on top of a hill, so it flows all the way down the hill D: )
and since the kids play over there, they track dirt everywhere. mopping is almost futile. >.<
i think if the dirt wasn't there, i would definitely be barefoot in the house,
