Well I think what helped me was:

1. I never had a computer class. I learned on the typewriter. All my computer knowledge I've learned on my own.

2. I didn't work with a computer at all until about 2 years before I left my county job and at that point it was just data entry so I had to be fast.

i never learned to type, so i'm a classic 2 finger picker :roll:

Jaz i like the chinese dress, but i like the Valentine one too, and the tulip one looks nice aswell, but i'm not risking buying til i've seen someone it in! :lol:

actually i like a LOT of the items on here, there's the opportunity to create some really elegant looks for your avie once you've got enough gold together :D

I type fast when it's my own thoughts I'm typing out - but I'm not very fast for transcriptions and stuff like that.

I always do horrible on typing tests because I'm nervous and I correct my typos as I type and apparently on typing tests you're supposed to leave the mistakes.

I also can't touch type - I don't two finger poke but I am all over the keyboard. I keep thinking I'll try and learn Dvorak - I used to accidentally keep turning my laptop to Dvorak so I started learning it - I may be able to touch type with that . . . but I'm lazy :P

I'm like you. I can type my own thoughts out really fast but if I have to look at something and type it, forget it.

I do like the broken hearts valentine dress :) I might splurge when I have enough gold. So much for running around nekkid.

I do modestly okay with eBay and I own rental property, but I always thought it would be interesting to learn real estate appraising. They do have to leave the house, but on their own time and alot of the work is research on the computer after they have seen the property. I always love things dealing with homes, decor, art, freelancing anyway 8) I sometimes pour through real estate listings out of curiousity

Errrrrm, I guess in the last post I shoud have said "Income wise" since I kind of skipped over the typing topic.
I do not fit into a classic typing category as I have big mobility problem with my left hand/arm. It looks normal and all, but I had a really bad double compound fracture when I was 14 and never regained complete control over it. What is strange is I had already learned to type, so my right hand still 'touch types' more or less, but I have to watch my left hand because I can really only use one finger on it comortably while I am typing, but it actually does keep up.... well, unless I am tired or distracted.

I would love it! My dad was involved in various aspects of construction and I have always loved looking around from the foundation stage to the finished models. I can remember riding down the freeway in the dark as a kid, and most of the freeway was higher than the homes that were near it so you could look out the window of the car and see people thogh the windows and kind of imagine their lives... (guess that i why I grew up loving to play the Sims :P ) The funniest part of that was I saw an interview with Steve McQueen's widow a couple weeks back and she mentioned specifically how much he liked doing the very same thing, imagining the stories of people he could see through lighted window in the evenings... oooops, I hope thatis not starting to sound creepy, but I knew exactly what she meant :oops:

Did anyone happen to notice I changed to a lighter hair colour? I think I rather like it. When I checked the site out I noticed alot of people picking the long hair styles and since I am too old for RL long hair anyway I thought it was cute to find a hair style for the avatar that was close to mine.... well, mine when I need a haircut :P

i noticed, i had a play with the colours earlier but i'm rather attached to this pretty shade now, i like this style because it's very similar to my own hair, just wish i could change the shade of my own so easily!

i was tempted to go for the really long locks, just to keep my bum warm until i buy some clothes 8) but i changed my mind.

I went with a hair color and style that is kind o close to mine in RL as well -

work is done for the day so I'm going to head home - I may or may not get back on tonight - if I don't - Good Night everyone!

I like the floor draggin hair, and since I can sit on mine its the closest Im gonna get. Until I cut half of it off that is :lol: Its just too long and hard to care for so Im getting a bunch of it cut off as soon as I am able to :D
