Hello everyone. I'm going to attempt to unpack some today.

Chi - yeah, we'd start trying May/June. Last time it happened right off the bat, so hopefully that'll be the same way this next time around! It's still a ways off, but hey! :)

Oy - what a weekend.

I was going to go to the ren fair yesterday last. Some friends called and asked us to go last minute, so we ran to the bank to get cash and as we were leaving to go to the grocery store we got into a minor car accident.

We were making a right off of a side street and in the middle of our turn a girl decided to go around a person making a right on the road we were turning onto and came into the lane we were in the middle of turning in to - so now the front corner of my bumper is ripped open. We traded insurance info and while I ran into the grocery store (where we were headed next) my boyfriend called the insurance company. They said I should hear from an adjuster within 2 business days about getting my car fixed.


It was so frustrating - the girl was like "I had right of way, I had a green light" and we're like "Umm . . ,no - you were driving on the wrong side of the road. you never have right of way there" the whole thing is so stupid and now I'm probably going to have to replace my while bumper and the stuff underneath it. Insurance will probably cover it- but I have a $500 deductible, so there goes $500 I don't really have. :evil:

So we never did go to the ren fair - we went to a friend's house and make taco pizza instead. We made the crust, cooked meatless in taco seasoning and then put it on the rust, threw on chopped tomatoes,and then covered it with taco cheese. It was an experiment and it was delicious - I will totally make taco pizza again - but next time I may use 1/2 a package of meatless instead of a full one, or make 2 pizzas.



Today I'm going to try and make baba ganoush - I'm preheating the oven right now for the eggplant - and I really should run down to the basement pantry to get out and set up the food processor - I hate that thing so much, but I don't think my blender would work very well for the baba ganoush.

Ohhh no. What a mess. :( I'm glad you're okay, even if it's still a cost out of your wallet for someone's idiocy.

I'm making eggplant today as well. I'm going to bread it and lightly fry it to have along with pasta.

Yeah - I just keep reminding myself that it could be worse - and at least no one got hurt.


It's just frustrating because I've been saving to pay for my upcoming tattoo, and trip to japan, and my brother's wedding - and now I have this stupid unnecessary and unexpected expense.


I never used to like eggplant - but I've been getting more into it recently. I've found that eggplant is fine if I peel off the bitter skin - i fact, grilled eggplant is almost buttery and creamy on its own with just olive oil and a grill


I've never made baba ganoush before, but I'm hoping it turns out well - I plan on bringing it over to a friend's house, hopefully she had pita because I forgot to buy some at the store yesterday :lol:

We tried to go swimming last night but it was freezing, so we're going to try again today at a different friend's house. Her parents have a beautiful pool, and its heated - so super cold water shouldn't be too big a problem. ;)

Now I just need for my boyfriend to get back from his bike ride and finish his B-law final so we can go out.

Aliena i'm good, we're busier of late staff wise, because we have more people so we're discussing/arguing over stuff more.
Plus there's been a rash of people breaking the rules coding wise just lately @[email protected] so we're trying to brain storm and see if we can come up with some sort of compromise. But it's not easy!

Sia, I just made breaded eggplant. It was pretty good, but as it was a first-time go, there are little tweakings to be done. I'm going to try a different rendition with the rest of the fruit (I always thought it was a veggie, but it's not), and hopefully it comes out a bit better tonight.

Yea, I hope it gets sorted soon. I'd much rather be chatting than revamping rules and such but unfortunately it is a necessary evil :(

Sia: I'm glad that it was only a minor thing and everyone is ok. Myself I am not fond of eggplant in any form. I always use to say that I would eat anything as long as it didn't squirm off my plate but as I get older I realize that this just isn't true :lol:

I went out and had some baked fuscilli with hot italian sausage and some brew last night with a friend of mine. It was a much needed distraction. Now if I could only focus on what I need to do around here... :wink:

It certainly isn't fun dealing with rules and such. I know that it's not on our forum that juru and I belong to. She knows all the drama caused there sometimes.

My friend and I were just discussing if we want to continue our RP plotlines on Gaia or not. We both seem to be moving away from the site, which is sad since we've been members since 2003. I don't think I'd ever fully leave it though. x__x

I still go there every day to do my daily things. Feed the guild pet, check out the mini shops I frequent, etc. but the gold earning has become so difficult. I just don't chat enough and don't really have the time for it. It's why I have a hard time earning gold here. I just don't chat enough.

I think I'm having a hard time letting go of Gaia completely because I've been there for four years. I try to put it into perspective, though. I don't chat there. It's been months since I've held a conversation with anyone there outside of PMs.

But with Menewsha, I'm posting several times every day, and the people here are ones I can relate with a bit better. So I guess this is my online home now. xD <3

I completely agree with you Chi. I still get my MC's there as well but I missed the ones here for August. Oh well.

I also relate here better than on gaia anymore. I guess because it's smaller than what gaia is.

I can relate here a lot better than on Gaia. It could be partially because the bulk of Menewsha's population doesn't run around purposefully trolling everyone, nor does it's bulk of users post preteen cleavage shots in their signatures...

I heard through the grapevine that Gaia is putting a stop to all the cleavage signatures. Someone also said they want to bring it down to PG, but I doubt that's true. I just really think they could get in trouble allowing underaged boobies hang around everywhere. >.>;

Yes I missed August's. I just didn't have the funding to buy them and don't have the gold right now either. I'm been trying to save for my latest outfit but now with the Halloween event coming, that will probably be put on hold.

I can't see gaia going down to PG but some siggies are just appaling to me. I just ignore them.
