Hiya GigglyBipper I don't know if you remember me but I used to be Miss_Feline_Tenticle on my original account on (the other site) roocee remembers me, boyfriends are great, as long as you know how to train them, tee hee. Hope you don't mind me barging in like this...

siaasgn 11-07-2007 02:15 PM

Morning all!

Things sure have been quiet around here . . . politics are not good for the purkles

So my boyfriend managed to get into a Science Fiction English class next term - registration opened Monday morning and by yesterday afternoon the class was full!

I had taken sci fi with this prof a few years ago and I remember he said he teaches different books and themes each time he does the class so I emailed him to see if I can sit in on the class for no credit and he said yes!

I looked up the book list and I'm super excited - the class is covering:
  • * Ender's Game by Orsen Scott Card
  • * Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep? by Philip K. Dick
  • * Worlds of Exile and Illusion by Ursula K. Le Guin
  • * Snowcrash by Neil Stephenson

We've both already read and loved Snowcrash and Chris has already read and enjoyed Ender's Game. I've been meaning to read Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep and I've been intending to pick up and read some LeGuin.

So, needless to say I'm excited for this class

ROFL!!!!!!

And Sia, that sounds like a fun class, and I'm glad you get to sit in it for c/nc. I admit, some classes in college were fun and interesting, like the last three I took to finish up my degree were communications, cultural anthropology, and ethnic sociology, and it was amazing how well the three of those tied in together, like how ALL THREE spoke of one particular theory in different lights.

roocee 11-07-2007 02:44 PM

I agree Si, I even sort of got into an argument about the political vote last night with my boyfriend and I'm still a little upset about it.

Mama Juru 11-07-2007 02:46 PM

Gooooooood moooorning purkles!!! I feel like I have become a stranger to these here parts since I haven't been in here in like...forever I think.

I'll read back at some point and get all caught up :)

And yes, Bippy...it IS Ohio's fault!!! lmao!

Melody 11-07-2007 03:04 PM

I was fighting politics with my dad last night.

I don't want politics all around me right now! D:

Morning everyone!

siaasgn 11-07-2007 03:32 PM

My Dad and I quietly decided that we will not discuss politics with each other in order to maintain our good relationship, and so far it's been working

So I just went fishing for today and managed about 93 gold on profit, not too bad.

roocee 11-07-2007 03:43 PM

I think I need to set that line with Gary. I just get too mad about it.

Does SpongeBob know you are dating Gary???

Flink 11-07-2007 07:17 PM

Uhg. >.< Flink hates that show. She has to watch it with her nephew sometimes. She can FEEL her brain rotting in her skull.

Usually when people try to talk politics with Flink, she just smiles blankly and says she voted for George Washington. XD

magikjaz 11-07-2007 08:06 PM

politics and religion discussions usually seem to bring the worst out of people. I usually avoid such discussions in public. and since hubby and I share almost the same beliefs regarding both we usually just chat with each other. Much safer that way.

altho I blame ohio too ^_^

dessertdesiert 11-07-2007 08:17 PM

-giggles at the facts of blaming a state >.>-

ROFL @ George Washington!

I've been getting semi-addicted to Spongebob since Jade's been watching it. I like the humor!

At least Jason's not too opinionated about politics OR religion. He was one way before I met him, and due to all my talking, I've kind of swayed him the other way on both topics.

dessertdesiert 11-07-2007 08:36 PM

is that a good thing fawN? turning someone >.>

Jaz 11-07-2007 08:45 PM

*stress stress everywhere and nowhere you can hide* I need to quit my job and soon before I EXPLODE >.<

dessertdesiert 11-07-2007 08:47 PM

Why do you feel like you are going to explode?

Jaz 11-07-2007 08:54 PM

I am just tired of the bull that takes place at my daycare (where I work) My son is having a really hard time today was the first day he didn't beg me not to take him to school and I think it is cause it was picture day and he got to where his train outfit for a little while... I am tired of everything but today my biggest stress is this stupid daycare cause no one would help me when I was over ratio and going out of my mind chasing kids... And they want me not only to give up the little bit of time after work I have to myself tonight but they want me to go in on Saturday when my family is having their Thanksgiving celebration... I hate people in general but I have never in my life met anyone as selfish as some of the people I work with V.V

dessertdesiert 11-07-2007 08:58 PM

You sound like you are in the same situation that my step sister was in with the daycare that she was working at..

That sounds just aweful though.. I could never deal with lots of kids... but yea.. is there anybody that you can talk to get some help? Are you forced to work on the Saturday?

Jaz 11-07-2007 09:10 PM

We seem to randomly have the MANDATORY meetings that most of the time don't mean anything they are usually useless information... Saturdays makes since it is CPR and First Aide... But I have had these a billion times before and they won't let me challenge the course or let me schedule it for a day that is better suited for me... I HAVE to go from 10-2 on Saturday with no pay... But I still have to pay a babysitter >.<... Tonights is what is pissing me off the most I have to go to a "communicating with your child night" tonight first because for ANYONE else it is optional but I work there so I have to go so I can watch other peoples kids more and they can enjoy "light discussion" ... And second cause they were implying that I need to communicate better with my son... Whom I am the only one he ever gets listened to by (wow bad grammar and I don care!)... So I am pretty pissed... Anyhow I need to return to my place of hell now... Bye

dessertdesiert 11-07-2007 09:23 PM

That is so retarded....

Sounds like you are a good parent.. I think it is parents that actually don't care about their kids and let them go at malls or at other places all day that really need to learn how to communicate with their kids...

roocee 11-07-2007 09:31 PM

She's a great parent!!!

LMAO Bippy, I guess I should inform spongebob and Gary for that matter. Although he does know about the snail named Gary. We have talked about it since my niece asked him about it.

magikjaz 11-07-2007 09:57 PM
