I know the next planned vacation I have is December 30-January 5 - I'm going to visit friends in Rochester for New Years and spending the week.


I may try and grab a long weekend to fly down to Florida to visit my grandparents - but first i need to find out when my Grandad's surgery is and if they need me (or would rather me not be there).


Do you have any plans for your time off, or are you just going to spend it relaxing and doing a whole lot of nothing?

Well I do need to get my car into the shop for an oil change and it seems to be leaking antifreeze and we can't find where so I will have the time to get that done. Other than that, I am not telling my other boss I have days off so I can relax a little.

Helllo everyone ^_^

My Thanksgiving holiday has officially started! My mom and niece just showed up a few minutes ago and Jade's school bus is arriving as I speak, and they're outside fetching her. Hubby is also taking off work a little early to stop by at my dad's work on his way home and discuss a family money problem his brother is having (ugh, the messes his brother has been getting himself into!!) I saw him log off chat about a half hour ago.

Our plan is to eat with my in-laws on Thursday for lunch (some of them haven't seen Amber in 3 weeks. Boy will they be shocked at her size! She weighed 10 pounds 2.5 ounces this morning!) And then Thursday dinner we'll be back up here to eat with my parents and sister and her family. One Thanksgiving is always huge (40+ people) and the other small, with my small family.

Just wanted to tell all the purkles "I'M HAVING ANOTHER BOY!!!"

Aww... that's cool.. you can use the same clothes as you did with your first boy...

Congradulations Jaz!! [applaudes] At least you'll know what to expect seeing as how you'll go through everything with the first one! XD And it will be nice for your sons to each have a brother, someone to easily relate to.

As for Thanksgiving, I'm off work Thursday and Friday so I have a four day weekend ahead that I'm absolutely looking forward to. Thursday night is dinner with my father's side of the family and Saturday is dinner with my Mother's side of the family.
I'll be honest and say I really don't care about Thanksgiving. I see my family plenty and I eat every day. If we were more aimed towards remembering the first settlers as well as the Native Americans, I would probably be more into the holiday. [shrugs]

Just remember, be thankful that you do get to see your family alot >.>

Dessert - Yeah, well....I will probably never talk to or see my father again and he lives about five minutes away. None of the family, on either side including his own, will talk to him. And my Mother died when I was 12. Sorry, I didn't want to sound depressing but my family situation is kind of screwed up.

Woopi - I would trade Thanksgiving to become an Aussie or a Kiwi. I've been to Australia and New Zealand once, and my life's goal is to retire and become a legal Kiwi. <3

Lauryn, I'm sorry to hear about your family situation. I would just be thankful for my health, at least you have that.

I would love to have had a program when I was in school that would have given me the opportunity to travel like that. It would have been awesome since alot of those places I want to visit.

Eh, I'm honestly used to it. I only mentioned it because from time to time I'll just get irritated and want to slightly rant.

I could have gone to other countries, but each trip cost about $4500. Completely worth it though! We got to have 'Homestays' where we did what it sounds like: we stayed at local families homes for a few days. We stayed with different families in New Zealand and Ireland. Usually it was two or three of us to a home. Fantastic!

Sorry about the unhappy family situations - I forget sometimes how lucky I am that my family is close to me physically and emotionally.
