Lol, my graduating class was over 600 students alone! I can't remember how many people there were in all four years. :p

dessertdesiert 11-23-2007 07:12 AM

wow.. your highschool was 3 times as big as mine.. I wish mine was bigger.. then I would not have to see the same group of people every day..

woopdidoodoo 11-23-2007 08:50 AM

I am too excited,
I am starting a bookclub, I have always wanted to.
Since the other night I have already gotten three serious responses about the add that I posted in the free classifieds site. Now all I have to do is somehow work out the reading material. Any ideas on how to help make the chosing easier?

dessertdesiert 11-23-2007 08:52 AM

what genre are you looking at? and do you just want to do a normal type book club.. or be creative and do your own based off books you read?

woopdidoodoo 11-23-2007 08:59 AM

I'd like to be creative,
but I have never actually run my own club before but I have been a member of many.
I love pretty much anything, I espcecially love reading romance but I know not everyone else does. I love reading about stories of people set after the war, that kind of thing. So what can I do to be more creative, you seem to have an idea of things dessert.

dessertdesiert 11-23-2007 09:02 AM

I dunno.. I loved the book the kite runner >.> it was a good book.. but I don't know how many people would like it.. I would first ask what types people like.. if you rather not do that then just start off with your personal favorite genre for the first book and change between books and genre with each book to see what types people like...

woopdidoodoo 11-23-2007 09:04 AM

Sounds like a plan, I have shot them off a email asking them to write out a list of what books they would like to read and what books they have previously read. So I hope to hear back from them about it soon. I am now researching for a place so we can meet up somewhere as it won't actually be held in our own homes. I want somewhere thats quietish, but central but also somewhere where they don't mind us being there for an hour or so at one time.

Folks, you may wonder where the heck I was for a log time, but seriously, I am usually sleeping by the time most of you log on. I seriously dislike my timezone.

Lauryn de Vampyre 11-23-2007 05:09 PM

Dessert - I had the same people in my graduating class since Kindergarten, honestly. I moved here when I was about five so I got to see the same people day after day growing up, so I know how you feel. We just did have a lot of older and younger people too. More people to mingle with I guess.

Woopi - My friend and I had created an online reader's and writer's circle composed of local people so we could meet if our schedules allowed. In the beginning we did have quite a few people join, however no one participated in even a thread. [sighs] So I hope yours goes better.

Kalium - Hello! I understand about the differences in time. Before I started this new work schedule I was online probably from 2am-6am, when NO ONE was around. It's times like that when you get good at rambling on (talking to yourself). :p

My high school had around 100-120 people, faculty included. My grade school was a bit less. Needless to say, my classes weren't all that exciting or outside of the border of "requirement".

Since college, I've taken more classes involving Sociology and Psychology, and I feel it's a combination of home life and outside life that makes you who you are. But, seeing as how most of your mechanisms are in place by age five, I'm going to side with family being the bulk of it. If that's the case, I'm not sure how I made it out as well as I did. xD

Exceptions to every rule, however. You also see well-rounded families rearing five children with four of them completely fine while the other is a killer. *shrug* You just never know.

dessertdesiert 11-23-2007 05:35 PM

I did not have the greatest parents when I was 5.. but I turned out pretty good considering everything.. luckily I had school to turn to some of my problems.. and lots of years of counciling <.< which I hated....

Lauryn de Vampyre 11-23-2007 05:42 PM

Chia - o.O;; Holy cow! I think I would have gone insane with that small amount of classmates! Needless to say I can imagine that if something happened to one of you, the others would know shortly. o.O;;
Was it small because your town was small, or because it was a private school?

Dessert - [hugs] When I was younger was when I really had it easy, to be honest. Now it's just a little bit more messed up. I've been to a therapist before and I actually liked it. I really want to go to one again as soon as I'm able to afford it.

dessertdesiert 11-23-2007 05:54 PM

When I was younger I thought it was easy.. even though things happened to me I only knew a quarter of the things that happen around here >.>

Lauryn de Vampyre 11-23-2007 06:19 PM

The earliest of my life I remember was on my 4th Birthday. I remember running out of my room into the kitchen after waking up to find my Mother cooking breakfast. I ran up to her and screamed, "Mommy, mommy, I'm 4!!" XD

I actually hardly remember my childhood. When I try and remember anything, if I even succeed, it feels like someone else's memories I'm watching.

dessertdesiert 11-23-2007 06:21 PM

I know what you are talking about >.>
Most of the stuff I remember is when my parents were fighting >.> (which happened alot because my dad was abusive to my mom)... so yea >.>

Aurora 11-23-2007 06:39 PM

-peeks in- :3

dessertdesiert 11-23-2007 06:40 PM

I feel like I am being watched..

Lauryn de Vampyre 11-23-2007 06:43 PM

Hey Aurora. XD

Whelp, I'm off to go pickup the paycheck I was supposed to have on Wednesday but the people who run the office decided to leave before their closing hours. [growls] I'm writing a request to be reimbursed for gas considering it takes me about 45 minutes to get there, and then of course the 45 back. I wouldn't have to drive out there if they'd just stayed around until closing, like their SUPPOSED to. [hisses]

Anywho, I'll be back later! :p

Aurora 11-23-2007 06:45 PM

x3 Hi, hi!
How is everyone?

Oh, k, Um, by Lauryn de Vampire xD

dessertdesiert 11-23-2007 06:48 PM

dessertdesiert 11-23-2007 08:37 PM

Hi Mirei.. ^_^

Mirei 11-23-2007 08:40 PM

Working at a mall sounds tiring. =/ Though, I'm sure it's fun sometimes, right? x3

Kalium 11-23-2007 08:46 PM

Not when you've got to deal with customers who are assholes.
