I guess I'm the next one to jump on the kitty bandwagon. My friend knew that I had been wanting another cat since Psycho (my other cat) died, so she called today saying that she had found one that needed a good home.
He's solid black with green eyes, and he was born over the summer. He's been here for around an hour, and he's already completely at home... laying back on my bed snoozing :lol:

We've been trying to come up with a name for him, and I think we've settled on Enigma. Ooooh, and here's a piccy :D

Thanks everybody :) He is really a sweet cat. I figured that he would be kinda shy, but he's made himself right at home. He started going around exploring the house for a couple minutes, then went right back to my room and hopped back up on the bed. I think he thinks that my bed is his bed too :lol:

Awww, I feel so bad for this puppy outside. The people that live across the street got it, but they don't take care of her... she's still little, and they keep her outside and just let her roam around, she don't have any kind of shelter from the rain or cold, and now I've noticed nobody has been over there at their house the last few days.
She's been sleeping under a lounge chair on my front porch, and everytime we open the door, she runs in as fast as she can. She's very loving, and so sweet, and really really cute. I can't keep her, but I'm seriously thinking of asking around and seeing if I can find someone that will take her and be good to her.
People that get animals and then don't take care of them piss me off... if they're not gonna take care of them, they don't deserve them.

Like with the cat I got yesterday, my friend was talking and said that the people that had the mom cat made the comment that you didn't have to buy food and feed cats... all you had to do was put them out the door and they could find food themselves. She also said they had another cat that they said 'got gone' and they had named her 'Stupid' :evil:

Dee that pisses me off as well. Why bother having a pet if you aren't going to care for it???

That poor dog - it really irritates me to see people get pets and then not take care of them - I think people forget that there's more to being a pet owner than them just being cute- they're a lot of work!

Yeah, people really aggravate me sometimes. The people that have the puppy, they talked about how they found it and was gonna give it such a good life and take care of it, and then they don't even bother with it after a month or two.
Hopefully I can find someone that will be good to her and she can be happy.

Dee, that is absolutely heartbreaking! The poor little thing. I wish you (and the puppy) the best of luck finding a REALLY family for her. People like your neighbors need to be neglected like that, see how THEY like it!

Poor puppy :( I hate people who treat animals like crap!! They have feelings too, and need loving care just as much as adult does :(

I have a question to ask before I start catching up ... is anyone else having problems logging in using FF? I haven't been able to log in for about 4 days now but with jelly's help I was finally able to log in using IE but still can't in FF *makes sad face*

edit: never mind...it appears I'm a total idiot. I cleared cache and cookies and was able to log in just fine. *hangs head in shame*

Hello, Purkles! Yeah, I was going to say JazzyJaz that I wasn't having any issues with logging in with FF. I *am* having a general FF issue though. The same one where it tells me an error has occurred in the program and it wants me to close it. It's getting beyond frustrating, but... no sense in complaining, I'll just have to keep trying to fix it. hehehe

Our neighbors across the street and to our right both have dogs that they keep tied outside. I don't think either one of those little darlings have seen the inside of their owners' houses. The dog across the street has been out there for years and years and they even have another little yippy dog they let in the house. Makes me so mad, she's a gorgeous German Shepard. I've wanted to go over and free her several times but don't know what would become of her if I did. My dad and I have called Animal Control on them, too, but they have our last St. Bernard's old dog house that my dad took over when he realized Beauty (that's her name) had nothing for shelter. She's also blind from a tumor over one of her eyes. It's so sad. She's so beautiful. She even escaped once and the idiots payed $65 to get her back just to tie her back up to that tree. If when she passes they get another dog and do the same thing to that one I'm going to go over, knock on their door, and punch the fat slobs in the face.

Sorry for ranting. I hate animal cruelty.

No need to apologize for ranting fruity. It's absolutely uncalled for to leave an animal outside to be uncared for. Yes, there are certain dogs that just do better outside because they were bread to be outside dogs but you still go out and pay them some attention.

You're right, roo... some dogs were meant to be outside, but they should get attention and love and daily walks and toys and treats and stuff even if they are tied outside. Not to mention, they should be allowed in the house, even if it's the basement when it's terribly cold or there is so much snow they can barely get into their little wooden house. *sniffle* It just makes me so sad for Beauty. I take her treats when I can, when those mean people aren't there. I wish I knew someone who could take a big dog, I'd go steal her away so she could live the last years of her life running and jumping and playing and being happy with people that love her and don't treat her like a piece of crap.

*HUGS Twinnie* That story absolutely breaks my heart. GAH! I can't stand people that are allowed to neglect and abuse animals. *sigh* There aren't words...

I hate animal abusers though in some cases I understand the tied up outside thing... When I was growing up we had 4 dogs (at one point... We have had probably over 100 in my lifetime!)2 Domations, a very large boarder collie and an American Eskimo! The domations were excessively active and would break stuff in the house so they weren't allowed in much... And the collie was let me put it lightly...As big as a room! LOL... So if they were let in one at a time and not for long stretches... They were kept in a kennel when we weren't at home with a HUGE dog house that rivaled the size of our mud room! And when we were home they roamed the yard freely (fenced of course!)... The American Eskimo was old and a lot smaller then the other dogs so she got privilages the others didn't (because she didn't hop the fence and run and we worried about her really long coat in the summer time)... Unfortunately the collie was a runner and he taught the domations to run too... So we lost all three in one day because we didn't kennel them one day! We have also had a German Shepard who had some kind of genetic bowel problem who was kept outside... My mom wanted him inside more then anything but he could not control his bowels at all and left far too many runny messes on the floor... He became an outside dog who would for VERY brief periods visit inside! But our back yard is HUGE too so it wasn't like those dogs lacked running space or shelter... Heck my mom bought down blankets to line their do houses! But pups need a LOT of one on one attention to get them to become good dogs! So I don't think it is cool to have a puppy outside for an extended amount of time! I think people who want to adopt pet should have to pass a test on animal care and needs... But then again I think there should be a screening for people who want to become parents too... The less people and animals suffering in the world the better!

This dog has never seen the inside of their house as far as I can remember, at least not for the past 5 years AT LEAST. She doesn't have any room to run beside the half circle where she has worn the grass down to a little dirt path in front of the little tree... YES TREE... that she is tied to. It makes me so sad. I can barely look at her for very long without tearing up and when I go over to give her treats, she recognizes my voice because she can't see me and her wagging tail is just heartbreaking. I want to cut that rope... YES ROPE... and free her and hug her for hours and hours and love on her to make up for the hell of a life she's had already.

OK, I'm finished. Sorry again. It's just so sad.

Aw Deneice that is so sad! Apricot is there anyway you can just kidnap the dog? I know its against the law but if you can take it someplace like a shelter and have it surrendered then it would be taken care of? I doubt the poor dog has even been microchipped. So maybe in the dead of night you could be a dog saver! Thats something that I would seriously consider doing if I saw a dog like that and if she had been microchipped then I would take her to a family members place until we could work out what to do. I personally believe that anyone who wants a companion animal whether it be a dog, cat, rabbit, guinew pig or bird then they should have to get a licsence for it as its a privelidge and not a god given right to have animals just because they think of them as a way to make money or have just as a possession because they think its cool at the time or whatever. I rescued my girl bunny Snowy who was the one who had the babies recently. She was going to be fed live mind you to a reptile of somesorts in an Aquarium in front of staff and customers for a form of entertainment. I begged and begged and cried at the Aquarium manager to let me have her. She has made a superb pet and friend. And now I am a proud bunny aunty because of her babies. I wasn't able to save her brothers and sisters because I was too late but I am so glad I saw her and saved her.

That's just so sad fruity. I just tear up hearing about that stuff. Well I'm off to take the roomie to work and then off to work myself.
