Evening Purkles, i'm watching Doctor Who :D

Have any of you ever seen it? the new series is great.

i love House too, Hugh Laurie plays the grouch so well! and with such a natural American accent! i gather that a lot of Americans refused to believe that he was English 8)

Nice to see you investigated Menewsha Nibbles, the avies are pretty on here aren't they?

Welcome Strange! come join the Purkleness 8) stick around and make some friends, male Purkles are a rare breed indeed!

magikjaz 04-07-2007 07:07 PM

i *love* Dovtor Who. I miss Christopher Eccleston but the new doctor is yummy in his own way. I think we might be a season behind you here in the states tho

and *grumble* i can't figure out how to find the hairclip. I may be PMing someone for some help ^_^

jellysundae 04-07-2007 07:14 PM

i can't remember which one was the hair clip

*wracks brain*

amersemt 04-07-2007 07:26 PM

Jaz, look everywhere on the main page. It's not obvious until you find it...meaning, it's kind of hidden.

jellysundae 04-07-2007 07:28 PM

ah, it's that one!

yes, it's sneakily hidden away on the front page, i had to go back and look again before i realised what they'd done with it

i'm not wearing mine until i have a suitably matching outfit, and i haven't got anything to match this dress yet!

magikjaz 04-07-2007 08:46 PM

yea i feel like an idiot ... i thought I had checked everywhere on the home page (cuz I figured out that was where it was) but I didn't

thanks!!!!

Aliena 04-07-2007 08:49 PM

Don't feel like an idiot! It took me quite a bit to find that one. The second one, I got pretty much right away because I understood how their logic worked. The third one - totally had to have it spelled out for me!

And Jelly - I personally think red and pink go nicely together!

amersemt 04-07-2007 08:50 PM

Well, I'm glad you were able to find it! There are plenty of people that are having trouble with the clues...they are not obvious to everyone...not even close.

magikjaz 04-07-2007 08:52 PM

glad to see it wasn't just me ^_^

out of curiosity ... anyone want a pink bunnie plushie? I just posted in the menewsha exchange for 175gold, but I'll take 150gold if you're purkle. I bought it cuz I thought it was cute but I don't like how it looks on my avi

Oooh, there's a fourth now? That's what I was coming here to find out. I'm at the in-laws and Jade is coloring eggs with one of her cousins.

I've totally not been feeling well and considered staying back home this weekend, but decided to try it. I was up past 1:30 last night coughing such horrible fits because my left lung tickles every time I breathe in, and then the coughing gave me such horrible heartburn I'd nearly throw up. I finally got to sleep after propping myself up on pillows so the heartburn wasn't so bad, and taking some of Jade's kid cough medicine. I don't know where this bad cough comes from, as strep throat's not supposed to come with it! Hopefully the same antibiotics will clear it though.

Speaking of the show House, I watched my very first episode this week because the woman in it was pregnant and that got me interested. I usually never watch serious shows, and I'm not sure I can get into this one either. I can see why Jason likes it so much, but it's not really my thing. And he IS such a grouch, I'd hate to have him as my doctor, as I need a doctor who smiles and is friendly and warm and nice, and not grumbling or pushing his "it's not a baby yet" views on me. And the whole idea that a medical staff would stand around so long and try to figure out a medical problem is just so unrealistic to me it makes me mad, because in the real world, the medical profession wants each patient in, out, and on their way, and they don't take the time to figure out a wrong diagnosis it seems! I only WISH one doctor had spent half that time trying to care about my back problems when I was so involved in that, but nobody cared.

Ok, enough ranting! I'm off to investigate this next egg!

Good to see you made it here nibbs!

roocee 04-07-2007 11:54 PM

Feel better fawN.

I like the bunny ears. They are cute.

morquarwen 04-07-2007 11:54 PM

Yay I found the latest egg all on my own :D Im usually no good at hunts like this but am quite proud I managed this one without any help :D

siaasgn 04-08-2007 12:06 AM

Happy Saturday everyone!

I worked at the library today and I finally ot my first paycheck - it only took a month

Just finished making some deviled eggs for tomorrow when my boy's family comes over - trying to plan out when I need to make everything else (ham, green bean casserole, mushroom/ lentil stew).

I'm supposed to be working on homework right now but I had to stop by at least once. Hopefully I'll be able to make it on tomorrow as well.

Aliena 04-08-2007 12:22 AM

Oh FawN - I hope you start feeling better! How long have you been sick?

You know, they addressed that issue in the episode of House I watched today (I've been catching up on the old seasons by watching them online while the baby's napping). They got a new chairman of the board and he asked Cuddy what the "Department of Diagnostic Medicine" was and she replied that it was Dr. House's department and that they took on the cases that the other doctors couldn't figure out. So the chairman wasn't too happy with the fact that they save one patient a week while all the other regular doctors are seeing and treating so many.

I don't know if there are people out there who have the luxury to take on the mystery of the weird medical cases or not, but it certainly makes for entertaining TV! His sarcasm and grumpiness is what I like so much about the show. He makes me laugh.

And yay for new egg!

Sia - I envy you. I wish in hindsight I had gotten my Master's in Library Science instead of Audiology. I would love to be a librarian.

Oh! I just noticed the people on the top banner are wearing our items! There's the bunny hairpin, the pierced ears, the little chicks...

I checked my symptoms journal yesterday (yeah, I keep track of how I feel during pregnancy so I know when morning sickness stopped, etc.) and I've actually had a sore throat since Monday, March 19th which is almost 3 weeks! It got really bad this last Monday night though, and the cough started a week ago. My next prenatal visit is Monday morning, so if I'm still not significantly better by then while being on antibiotics, we can at least do something about it then.

Well, I'm happier knowing they're a special team with a special purpose that's different from regular doctors, because at least then I'm not scoffing at the idea that doctors stand around all this extra time determinedly trying to figure out a person's problem instead of busy-bee rushing from one patient to the next. Although, that does bring up the other point mentioned about how many patients actually get help in the same amount of time, but there's gotta be a nice balance in there somewhere, because as it is, I think way too many real world problems do not have enough time and attention spent on them, and thus it takes much, much longer for ONE person's problem to be correctly diagnosed and treated.

That's cool, I didn't know the actor was British and acting with an American accent. I love when I can't tell, like when Hugh Jackman or Kate Winslet pulls off a perfect American accent!

Aliena 04-08-2007 02:37 AM

Yeah, that's the biggest thing that kept me from pursuing a hospital job, though it probably would have paid more. I didn't like the "herd them in, herd them out" mentality, squeezing entire hearing tests + counseling and going over the results in a 15-30 minute period. I was fortunate in my private practice job that we had a say in our scheduling. If we knew a patient was a quickie, we could schedule them for less. We had a few patients that were rather high-maintenance that we'd block off about an hour each for. You can feel, as a patient, when a doctor's rushed and has lots of people to see. You just sense it in their manner.

I also like when you can't tell where the actors are from! There was even one episode of House where he was faking a bad British accent. And it's really funny to hear a British guy playing an American playing a British guy with a bad accent.

neonibbles 04-08-2007 05:40 AM

Oh what a wonderful day!! It was the first day of Faire! We had so much fun. Even though it was cold and overcast all day, I still managed to get a nice sunburn! So I am now hurting and tired. Oh well...

As for the Easter dinner, it sounds sooo good. Unfortunately, we can't even have one yet. The oven died on us a couple of days ago. In order to get a new one, Dad has to upgrade the fuse box to handle the newer powered stoves. So it's ham slices for dinner, you know, the single sliced ones from the grocery store. It's a good thing I like them. Just not as good as the real thing though!

The Strange Visitor 04-08-2007 10:22 AM

Hello everyone. Good morning (at least over here it is morning) to you all.

Ah, the forth egg is out. Now lets see if I can do this on my own. (Doubtful). But hey, I could at least try.

morquarwen 04-08-2007 01:31 PM

Happy Easter everyone!! I was woke up at the crack of dawn by Toni was was uber excited to see the DVD Happy Feet in her Easter basket. And the paints and the stampers and markers. She didnt get alot of candy but she was happy with that, shes not a huge candy eater to begin with.

roocee 04-08-2007 01:36 PM

Oh yes, she was pretty excited with her DVD. I actually am looking forward to watching it also.

jellysundae 04-08-2007 03:03 PM

Hi guys, i've had to work today T_T, but i'm home and chilled out now.
it's such a gorgeous day outside i did contemplate going out and wandering about with my camera, but it's ever so windy!
So i thought i'd stop in instead.
Strange, are you a Brit too? i'm so used to the majority of people on these sites being an american that it's always a suprise to come across someone who isn't!
I'm going to have to hunt out the clue for the earring now!
fawN :( hope you feel better soon! sore throats that drag on and on are the pits.

The Strange Visitor 04-08-2007 05:15 PM

So with a little help (again) I figured out where the 4th egg was.

Well, Happy Easter everyone.

@jellysundae: No, sorry, I am also an American. I just usually happen to be up really early in the morning hours since I work a late shift at work. And one thing, for the new egg, I suggest you go shopping around the site.

@roocee: You should so watch that movie with her. I got it for my wife and we watched it last night. I was laughing so hard. And singing almost every song. It really is a most delightful movie.

So are you an attorney? I work for attorneys so I was just curious.

While I am not an attorney, I work closely with the District Attorney's office here in L.A. I work major narcotics as a civilian liaison with the L.A.P.D. and part of my duties consist that I turn over finished documents to the DA needed for prosecution. Sometimes though, we have a big arrest that needs to be handled by an on call judge at weird hours of the night, so when that is cleared up, I need to process and distribute the document so that it can be on the DA's desk in sometimes less than 2 hours before court opens. That is the only downside about working the late shift where I do.
