Shopping? right you are 8) *toddles off*

The Strange Visitor 04-08-2007 06:49 PM

And speaking of shopping. I know what I can do with my little girl while her mom is at work. I think it is time that I head on over to the mall for a bit. Just have to make sure I leave my Credits Cards here. Last time I took them, I came home with like $600 worth of stuff.

jellysundae 04-08-2007 06:57 PM

:o and men say women are demon shoppers :P

Enjoy your spending Strange!

and thanks for the hint on the fourth egg

neonibbles 04-08-2007 06:59 PM

So Strange, you are in L.A.? That's great, I'm in O.C. Almost at Disneyland. I wonder what is going on there today? We might have to go and find out. My daughter has to work today too. But she works at Knotts.

The mall is always fun at Easter. Some of them do egg hunts for the kids. Just don't know what time they stop them. Be sure to get a picture with the Easter Bunny...

Hey purkles! We've had a lovely family day today (we go to church on Saturday nights instead of Sunday mornings) and I can now say I am officially ready to be a PTA mom! I made rice crispy treats for the first time ever. It was really fun. Lauren was playing in the kitchen with her alphabet magnets and my husband and I were making a homemade pizza together. It was just such a happy, nice time. Normally, I do the cooking and then serve it. But today, we were all three in there, just doing the family thing!

So now, I'm working on a painting and I need to do a few shop sketches too...I'd love to take a nap, though. I may do that...or better yet, a bubble bath!

jellysundae 04-08-2007 08:41 PM

Aliena that trully does sound like a lovely day, the sort that makes you feel all virtuous and proud and happy, so glad you're having a great Easter :D

Mama Juru 04-08-2007 09:58 PM

Good afternoon purkles!

Hope everyone is having a nice Easter :) My son woke up at 6:30am. Unfortunately the Easter Bunny was not yet up as she did not expect him to wake up that early (he usually rolls out of bed at 9 on the weekends) so the eggs were not yet hidden. I had to think quick. I told him that the Easter bunny had been chased away by the owls that lived in the tree across the street and since he did not want to be eaten he moved on to another kid's house and would be back. I drug his sister out of bed and had her sneak out the back door and go hide eggs. I felt terrible :(

But things picked up nicely and he found them all and has eaten candy until his eyes bugged out. He took a two hour nap and then and he and his sister did their homework  We are getting ready to get the table set and sit down to dinner. Hopefully it will go smoothly.

thanks for the tip Strange i got it i don't like it with a earring in it. i like my chick better.

jellysundae 04-08-2007 10:10 PM

i think the earring is cool, and it goes with the other little bit of gold on my hairclip.

i'm having trouble deciding how to complete this outfit! they don't really have any footwear that i really like on here.

Actually, I live in Anaheim right by Buena Park. I only work for the L.A.P.D. ... hough I did live in L.A. my whole life up until I got married last year and moved out here.

Anyone else get snow flurries today, or is it just me?

Deniece 04-08-2007 10:44 PM

HAPPY EASTER EVERYONE!

Well, I've gone and done it.... Not only have I become addicted to playing Zantarni too, but Devan talked me into making an account on Runescape last night. Of course I'm completely lost on there, but I'm hoarding everything I'm picking up and just praying that I don't get killed before putting it into the bank.
Of course, most of the time I can't even find the bank

Oooh, Happy Feet! I wanna see that, but Devan is at this age where he doesn't want to watch movies like that. I should reserve it on Netflix anyway though, I'm pretty sure that I would like it.

I finally got around to watching the new Charlotte's Web, which I thought was SO cute. I wanted to pick up that pig when it was a baby and squeeze it... It was adorable.

The new Black Christmas was also good. I borrowed the old version from my friend a couple of months ago, but found that I didn't really get interested in it because it didn't go into too much detail. The new one explained alot that the older one didn't, and I found that I could understand what was happening alot better.

jellysundae 04-08-2007 10:45 PM

i saw someone on Halcyon Tears mentioning snow, they're in New england though.

We got a couple inches of snow Friday night, but by Saturday evening, it had mostly melted off. I couldn't believe it was snowing.... It had been so pretty oustide, and even the sun was shining. Earlier in the week, I had even been wearing shorts

It's funny how the Easter Bunny (and Santa Claus!) seem to know exactly what a kid wants and doesn't want.. like Jade hasn't yet asked how the Easter Bunny knew she wanted Ponyville stuff, a pink bunny, and a purple basket, and chocolates instead of hard candies which she doesn't eat, or why her cousin sleeping one couch away got pajamas and she didn't (she has SO many pajamas already!!). And I'm surprised she hasn't asked why she sees other parents buying easter baskets at the store if it's the Easter Bunny who brings them, etc. I guess she hasn't really thought about it!

We got snow Friday as well, but it melted pretty quickly. It was warm enough today to go without a jacket.

I haven't seen any mention of a 5th egg for today, so I'm guessing there's not one after the pierced bunny ears?

jellysundae 04-08-2007 11:33 PM

she'll start putting 2 and 2 together soon enough fawN, you can always tell her that those parents are helping the Easter Bunny/Santa out because he's so busy!

Aliena 04-08-2007 11:34 PM

I think Mike said there were no more down in the event forum. Darn. Ah well! I think we got some really cute stuff!

That's great. I have an idea of where you are then. I'm in Stanton. It's amazing what a small world it really is!

siaasgn 04-09-2007 01:22 AM

Happy Easter everyone.

Today was a very full day - there were a total of 15 of us for dinner - food turned out well and we went through 9 pots of coffee!

I'm winding down now and getting ready for bed. See you all later.

buffyhowe 04-09-2007 05:13 AM

Aliena 04-09-2007 05:16 AM

There are a few of the items I don't really see myself wearing much, but then I have a feeling they'll go up in value quite a bit down the road, especially as this site grows.

I know that area. I used to date someone who lived off of Chapman and Beach. It really is a small world. Here I figured that the chances of someone I talk with here living near me were pretty slim.

neonibbles 04-09-2007 09:21 AM

I learned of that while being on Gaia. There is another mom that lives near the Buena Park Mall. I lived about a block and a half from there when I first moved to Orange County. We still talk, but not very often.

Well, I am glad to meet you, even if it is in a less than personal way...

amersemt 04-09-2007 12:12 PM

Good morning Purkles! I hope you all had a wonderful Easter Sunday. We actually ended up semi-celebrating. We started out the day with Adam's family and had a nice lunch and then an Easter egg hunt. lol Believe it or not, I've never ever done an egg hunt before, so it was a fun, new experience for me. Then, we finished up with dinner with my mom, brother, SIL, and nephews. We had pizza out at a local place, but the best part was dessert. My description probably won't do it justice, but it was a fresh, hot, plate-sized chocolate chip cookie; covered with vanilla ice cream and whipped cream and chocolate sauce and cherries. Mmmm...it was fabulous, but just thinking about it makes my tummy ache a bit. lol
