Whut oh...

Mine has no warranty.

amersemt 05-11-2007 07:21 PM

lmao Jelly, you are so right! Everytime I get a computer, I get the three year extended warranty. Well, the past three computers have ended up with fried hard drives within a month after the warrany expired. This computer that I'm on right now went poof just THREE days after the warranty expired. Luckily, the manager at Best Buy felt sorry for me and they replaced the hard drive for free. lol Nice manager! It made me feel better about spending so much money there. xD

I have also experienced the same thing with my car. When I first bought it, it had a three year/36,000 mile warrany. Well, three years and two months after I had the car...BAM!...blown head gasket and a huge bill. I was not happy. And this phenomenon has happened with a few other items. It's all very strange I'd say.

Mama Juru 05-11-2007 07:28 PM

*whispers so the computers don't hear me* I have not had problems with either of the computers I have thus far. My home computer has been happily ticking along since 2000. It is a little obsolete as far as hardware and speed but it works well for the stuff I do on it and the kids use it to surf the internet. Now if I could get the oldest to stop downloading crap :D

Now the car on the other hand... got it paid off I think in 2006. Shortly after it decided that the check engine light was going to go on and it was going to leak oil. We don't know where it is coming from either. In addition, the check engine light doesn't always stay on. Sometimes it goes off for no apparent reason. I think it just likes to screw with me

roocee 05-12-2007 10:01 PM

WOW, no posts in here today!!! Well let's change that right now.

magikjaz 05-12-2007 11:59 PM

*huggles everyone*

jellysundae 05-13-2007 12:08 AM

I haven't visited Zantarni for weeks now, it doesn't have as much appeal to me for some reason.
Strange how some sites appeal more to one person than another isn't it?

roocee 05-13-2007 01:15 AM

I agree Jelly. I just didn't care for it.

Aliena 05-13-2007 04:44 AM

Zantarni has potential, I think, but the times I've logged in and have really tried to participate, the community of it never really grabbed me. I popped on back when it was pretty new, but didn't find the reception nearly as friendly as that of Mene when I joined. So I've never really been hooked on it.

jellysundae 05-13-2007 11:24 AM

I think the trouble with Zan is that people can gain gold from foraging, so they get out of the habit of chatting. Where as here it's the best way to earn gold so people have to be friendly

amersemt 05-13-2007 11:28 AM

Good morning and Happy Mothers Day to all you moms and mom type people. :)

I posted this at Zantarni too... I like both Zan and Mene, but I prefer Zantarni because it is smaller and the average age is higher. (At least it feels higher.) Also, there are more ways to earn gold there...more games, etc. and I love the items there very much...they seem to be higher quality. I have a really hard time finding topics here to respond to...it seems like they are all about school or random teenager stuff. The only thing I wish for Zantarni is more Purkles to be there. :P Sometimes there is nobody to chat with in the Purkle thread and I get bored. lol

jellysundae 05-13-2007 11:47 AM

The average age seems to have dropped here. When we all signed up there seemed to be a lot more 20+ people. now there seems to be mainly school kids. Which is a shame. i too often find it hard to find anything to respond to in the GD, so i'm glad i frequent a few threads in here so i can join in the conversations and continue to earn gold :)

luckycharm 05-13-2007 01:18 PM

Happy Mother's Day to all of you proud moms!!!!! :D

roocee 05-13-2007 02:57 PM

Happy Mom's Day to all the mothers out there. {{hugs}}

fawN 05-13-2007 05:04 PM

*popping through*

I've been keeping up with the thread every day or two, but haven't been logging in because like Gaia, I can read it without being logged in.

It's been 3 1/2 weeks and I'm still down here in Albuquerque waiting for Amber to get the hang of her bottle feedings and finish them all so we can go home. Jade's birthday is in a little over a week, and I hope I'm not still down here and miss it! I wanted to send her to school with chocolate cupcakes with mini oreos and cream cheese hidden in the middle, from a new recipe in one of my recipe magazines. I haven't made cupcakes before, but it looks easy enough! I also wanted us all to go to my parents' house on her actual birthday (May 21) and have ice-cream cake with my parents, sister, and her husband and daughter, and have a small party there because we divided up the gifts we bought her so she could open half of them down here last weekend for her big party with her 17 cousins, and then the other half back home with her 1 cousin on my side of the family. Pretty unbalanced, her cousins are, eh?

that is true, but zan does have a friendly atmosphere.

plus we have a purkle thread over there which is where I spend most of my time anyway.

altho I have gotten braver in the past week and I'm loving it.

jellysundae 05-13-2007 06:51 PM

Really hope you're home for Jade's birthday fawN. that will be a lovely present for her too!
Hope you get to make your cupcakes too http://i8.tinypic.com/6eupjwp.gif i'm going to make some muffins in a moment, think i'll go for spiced pear today, but i may wait until i've posted enough to buy the Hell top that i want 8)

roocee 05-13-2007 10:34 PM

Ok, I'm officially not linking Vista. I keep getting error messages saying I have low memory when hardly anything is running. I cannot reinstall my favorites in IE. I had to go into the help menu to find the run command. It's just all so different. The neopets toolbar doesn't work in IE so I don't get any Tarla or email alerts. I'm just ready to pull my hair out.

Ok, end rant.

You know, it's funny. You think Mother's Day means Mom gets pampered, right? Well, then how'd I manage to end up making two really time consuming things today - lasagna and apple pie, both entirely from scratch. I mean, it was totally worth it, but it struck me as funny that I worked more today than I normally do! I also pulled weeds, went to the store, did dishes, etc. But tonight while the lasagna was baking, we pulled out the little kiddie pool and filled it with water and the 3 of us went and sat in it. The baby thought it was really cold at first, but it wasn't long before she was giggling and splashing. It was just a really nice day even with me doing a lot of stuff!

buffyhowe 05-14-2007 05:51 AM

I didn't get pamper either i had to work and then when i had TO GO HOME I GOT LOCKED IN THE STORE! Steve the dumbass broke the bar that lets you unlock the door from inside.

i wish someone told me. i did ok it was normal for me like all my Sundays. we atr going for chines food tomorrow cuz i had to work and i am off tomorrow mainly for my teeth.

Mama Juru 05-14-2007 09:16 AM

Hi all,

Hope everyone who is a mommy or who went to see their moms had a very nice day to day. I did laundry and generally puttered on the computer for the day. I picked up a game for the Game Cube last night which my daughter thought was going to be just stupid but now she can't stop playing it. It is some game where you have to control troops and squish opposing troops with a pinball. It's very funny actually and completely in Japanese so we have no idea what they are saying.

I love Chinese food. I can eat that stuff every single day. My dad makes steaks for us and they were goood. :)

siaasgn 05-14-2007 12:57 PM

Good morning everyone.

I went to my parent's house yesterday and took my mom out to dinner. I actually ended up staying the night because when I went o go home I discovered that both of my headlights had burnt out and no stores were open. I have to replace them after work today.

roocee 05-14-2007 01:56 PM

Jess and I went to Mom's and Jess cooked dinner for her. It was a really nice time.

jellysundae 05-14-2007 03:29 PM

Roo, i used to get that low memory message a lot on my old pc. It annoyed the hell out of me too!http://i2.tinypic.com/53fj0bb.gif

Deniece 05-14-2007 03:51 PM

I've been having computer problems lately, and have no idea what could be wrong. I've reformatted twice in the last week, and it will do ok for the first day, and then start messing up again.

At first, I thought it was because of Runescape. Devan would play it when he got home from school, and he would always tell me the computer would shut down while he was on. Then it started shutting down itself, and restarting, only to keep shutting down. It started freezing up, the mouse sometimes freezes (and it's a new mouse) Now it's shutting itself down and restarting no matter what website is on.

Also, every time I reformat I get pop-ups saying 'From messenger to user' and to go to different websites and download things to fix the critical errors it says I have. I managed to get them to quit popping up before, but now it seems that no matter what I do, they still come up.

I need to take it to have it looked at, but there's no one really around here that I know works on computers. My friend took hers to a place a while back, and the only thing they did was reformat it, and charged her $60... She told them she could have done that herself.
