Whooo, hi, I'm new. So I fill this questionnaire out, right?

First name: Jen
Age: 27
Sex: Female
Marital Status: Blissfully, happily single.
Do you have any kids? _____ Would you like to have them in case answer is not (please specify why yes or why not) No, and eventually. Maybe. I dunno yet.
Pets?: Two cats. Let's just call them Thing 1 and Thing 2
Place where you live: A medium-sized city in the south.
Job: Administrative assistant for a nonprofit.
Are you studying? what and where?: All the time, but officially? I'll be heading back to school when some stuff straightens out for me.
Why did you join Mene: Cute avatars and coherent conversation? What's not to love?
Are you on gaia too? if so, what's your screen name: Yep, but I'd prefer to keep it to myself. I'm not well-known there or anything, so it doesn't really matter. :)
Likes: Being a goofball, having time to myself, harrassing the cats, writing horrible fiction and inflicting it on people for fun.
Dislikes: People who take themselves too darn seriously, macaroni and cheese, hairballs at 3am, AIM-speak, people who are cruel for fun.

(edited to fix bbcode oopsies)

Hello eveyone! My computer broke down half way into the event! So what ended up being the rest of the prizes??
How is everyone tonight? Did you all have a good new year?

Lauryn de Vampyre 01-04-2008 09:57 AM

Dashi and Woopi - There is nothing I want more at the end of my life than to retire and become a Kiwi. I would LOVE to end up living in New Zealand. I've been to NZ and Australia (as well as the UK and Ireland) and New Zealand is still my favorite. The landscape is utterly brilliant!

Criah - Welcome to 18 and Up! Pop in anytime you feel like it; we welcome the company! :) Thing1 and Thing2, lmao. What wonderful names for cats. <3 I write fiction as well (and science fiction/fantasy). Well, that is to say I would write if I could FINISH a story, lol. I've got three started and I'm not far into any of them. Again, welcome!

Kush - Holy crap I'm sorry your computer broke. I wouldn't know what to do if both my PC and laptop died on me. o.O;; I would have to bury myself in my books or I'd go insane from boredom.

HAPPY NEW YEAR TO EVERYONE!
I had a good time. Hung out until 5:30am at our local bar with friends and actually DANCED. XD I only dance on rare occations, and I figured it was a good enough excuse.

daashi 01-04-2008 11:09 AM

Criah I literally chocked on the food I was stuffing my mouth. Thing 1 and Thing 2. :lol:

Of my mum's two cats, one doesn't realise he has a name, and then other knows we have named her and knows her name but still won't come when you call her.

Our previous cat had a name but responded to Puss.

woopdidoodoo 01-04-2008 11:46 AM

Hiya guys and gals, gah that is so annoying, I thought I saved my pics after downloading them from my yahoo account as I sent it to it from my mobile phone but now I can't find the stupid files. Stupid bloody computer is driving me nutty lately along with everything else *le sigh* yeah I wouldn't mind going over to New Zealand myself one day when I am rich enough to travel ^^ there was an event? what event are we now talking about? what did I miss out on! apart from the new years eve bash of course which I've already got the item for. Eternal I will post the pics as soon as I can work out where I saved them!

Criah 01-04-2008 02:22 PM

Well, to be honest, Thing 1 and Thing 2 have other names. Mostly, they get called "Butthole" (boy) and "Monkeybutt" (girl), which also aren't their official names. Then there are the other nicknames. The boy is sometimes Marlon Brando. The girl is sometimes "that striped thing that licks its own hinder in mixed company".

I'm on the fast track to being a crazy old cat lady. :D

woopdidoodoo 01-04-2008 02:25 PM

I love crazy cat people haha, I have one kitteh and he is a tabby medium haired boy called Tyrone, he is such a sookie boy though and I swear he is gay

Criah 01-04-2008 05:32 PM

Thing 1 is definitely not gay. He's just a big furry ball of ooze. I can lift him up off the floor, flip him over, and have him just sort of lay there belly-up in my arms with his head droopily hanging off of my elbow and he doesn't care.

He'll lay belly-up on the bed and allow tummy rubs. He doesn't mind it when I put my face on his belly-fur. He's that trusting. Which is awesome. He's also that spoiled, which isn't.

Thing 1 is a long hair. That means he gets hairball control food and leaves beautiful pukes all over my house. Thing 2 is a short hair with sensitive skin. That means she digs at herself with her teeth and occasionally requires cortizone shots because she's been exposed to something that disagrees with her.

They are so, so spoiled. My bad.

woopdidoodoo 01-05-2008 06:52 AM

Well this is my rant moment, its too damn hot where I am coz of the heatwave we are having and its that time of the stupid month for me and I'm cramping like something shocking and I had to eat melted chocolate coz I had no other and our airconditioner is still broken coz our stupid fricking landlord is away on holidays and won't look at it until hes back

Fullmetal Phantom 01-05-2008 10:05 AM

Hi there! I'm new to this thread, so...I'll just fill out this little thing here...I probably like these questionnaire things more than I should. XD

Quote:

First name: Sharla (I'm legally changing this when I know I have come up with a name I can live with for myself, though)
Age: 18; born April 5, 1989.
Sex: Hard to say, really. I guess you could say female...but I have a lot of the secondary sex characteristics of a male. I even went through something of a voice change when I hit puberty. D;
Marital Status: Single, and I don't have the slightest problem with it.
Do you have any kids? No. Would you like to have them in case answer is not (please specify why yes or why not) Honestly, I do not know. I really don't. I DO know that if I ever decide I want kids, I'm adopting. And I'm going to see to it that their medical history is available to them.
Pets?: Four cats, a turtle, and a dog that seems to be severely brain damaged.
Place where you live: Avalon, California. Moving soon.
Job: Well, I'm supposedly a grocery bagger at Vons...but since an accident nearly three months ago (broken hand that healed improperly), I've been on "light duty." So my job is basically to dust shelves and make sure the floor stays clean. >.<;
Are you studying? what and where?: Biomedical engineering. I was going to DeVry, because I thought they'd be helpful...but they're really not. They give me such a runaround with the registration process that it makes me want to injure someone. >.<; I'm going to go to Long Beach City College as soon as I can.
Why did you join Mene: Because I like avatar sites. No other reason, really.
Are you on gaia too? if so, what's your screen name: Fullmetal Phantom. I'm almost never there anymore, though - Mene takes most of my avatar site time.
Likes: Music, drawing, animals, anime/manga, various languages, movies that are somehow both painfully hilarious and amazingly sad, and suddenly switching from acting like a 35-year old to a 5-year old - it confuses people, which amuses me. XD Also, I am probably THE biggest Gackt fan within a 50-mile radius of where I live. ^^;
Dislikes: Stupid people, milk, nightmares, thunder, the end of the last fight scene in my favorite movie, and the fact that my doctors are stalling on some really nasty problems I have. >.<;
So...um...hi there. :3 *always feels awkward when entering a long thread*

woopdidoodoo 01-05-2008 12:32 PM

Hiya Phantom welcome to the thread, I hope you like it, I love survey thingies as well. More than I should anyways so we have something in common haha

Criah 01-05-2008 07:36 PM

Hi, Phantom!

So I woke up this morning--afternoon--shut up--to the sound of things being flung off of my makeshift dresser and onto the floor. I oh so very reluctantly got out of bed to look, and Thing 1 had been trying to drink out of my water glass again and had thrown it, my current knitting project (dishcloths for my new apartment), and random other things onto the floor.

It's not illegal to bathe a cat as punishment, right? He needs a bath anyhow.

Fullmetal Phantom 01-05-2008 10:02 PM

I don't THINK it's illegal...but even if it is, you can always mention that he needed a bath anyway. ;)

I've been known to bathe my dog for punishment, so I'm pretty sure reprimanding animals by bathing them is legal in California. ^^;

Criah 01-05-2008 10:58 PM

Well, if it's legal in California, it's legal everywhere. Cali's the state that doesn't let you have ferrets or gerbils, after all.

I have a cold. I hate having a cold. It's so much work, with blowing my nose, and blowing it again, and then it hurts and I have to blow my nose again and it's no fun at all.

Fullmetal Phantom 01-05-2008 11:02 PM

Don't tell anyone I told you...but they don't enforce any ferret bans. I've seen people walking around with ferrets on leashes. XD

Colds are...evil. Pure evil. Sickness as a whole is, really. :x I feel like I'm getting something...though I don't know what. Which is really unpleasant, because my "unofficial birthday" is tomorrow. :(

Criah 01-06-2008 01:32 AM

You have an unofficial birthday?

Elaborate! This has gotta be a fun story.

*sneezes*

Fullmetal Phantom 01-06-2008 05:30 AM

Haha...it's because I greatly dislike my real birthday. It NEVER goes well. At least three times, I've had near-death experiences on my birthday that I can remember right away - got a fork shoved down my throat on my third, hit a fence (very very HARD) while skiing on my twelfth, and nearly got run over by a car on my fifteenth. I picked out a day that usually goes well for me to celebrate on instead...and it happens to be January 6. That day always felt more appropriate for me, anyway - I've had people say I "act like a January baby."

This is the first time I've ever been sick on this day that I can remember, though. D: I hope it doesn't get too bad.

woopdidoodoo 01-06-2008 09:57 AM

Gah why can mothers still annoy you so much even though you have moved out of home and have your own life? anyways all I am saying is that I am annoyed with mine right now. *Grumbles to herself* so moving on, how are you all?

EternalHearts 01-07-2008 01:46 AM

Woop, it's some kind of genetic anomaly that mothers don't realize their children have ACTUALLY grown up. And they can't comprehend the idea that those children don't want to live with mommy forever, and won't be moving back in eventually.

chibilady18 01-07-2008 01:53 AM

Hello everyone^.^ hows it going?

woopdidoodoo 01-07-2008 03:37 AM

Yeah I've thought of that Eternal and have tried talking to her about it but she is so weird. I mean she says she likes her independance as her kids are all over the age of 18 now but still wants us to be around? like how does that work? I don't know... but thankies for the support anyway and hiya Chibilady

EternalHearts 01-08-2008 02:15 AM

No problem woop. Seriously, there is no understanding moms, at least in my experience. My mom is always talking about how much she loves living on her own, but whenever I go to visit, she always gets this sad look in her eye when I leave, and is always asking when I'll be coming back.

They know that they are supposed to be happy for us, since they raised us to be independent adults, but it's still so hard fro them to let go. It's kind of endearing.

woopdidoodoo 01-08-2008 02:47 AM

Hiya guys and gals how are we all? what are we up to? and what have we been up to? I am just catching up and seeing whats what. I am having a coffee and am trying to work out what I've got to get done today. My new years resolution is for me to try to be more motivated about everyday things I know that has to be done... like housework but so far I am only taking babysteps like an hours cleaning a day to see if that helps coz it should make me feel more encouraged when I see things are getting done. Sounds good in theory but still the motivation isn't there

Fullmetal Phantom 01-08-2008 05:25 AM

Well, I'm doing...good and bad. The bad is that...I have bronchitis for the second time in three months. >.<; The good is that it's getting me out of work. XD *still lives at home...for a few months, anyway; can afford to miss work for now* XP

Fairly soon, I'll be able to quit this job and get a different (hopefully also transferrable) one. I...well, I like the nature of my work; I get to meet a lot of people i wouldn't meet otherwise, but I've greatly disliked my boss since I was 5. >.<; And I don't think she likes me much, either.

So now I'm just sitting here, looking at Long Beach City College online, searching for what classes I want to take and when I can take them.

EternalHearts 01-08-2008 03:23 PM

Phantom, I HATE bronchitis, I hope you start feeling better really soon. AND good luck finding a job that's better suited to your needs.

Woop, I too need to get motivated, which was why I basically wasn't around all day yesterday. I think doing the baby steps is a fine idea...eventually it'll become habit, and you can up the amount of time you spend at cleaning. Plus, it'll be so nice to have a clean house, you'll want to KEEP it that way!
