I definetley do not want to go the Nicole Richie way! I'd still like to have some womanly curves thanks! lol!

I was momentarily mad at myself last night because I had a snack attack at 1:30am while I was sitting in bed reading.
But i reasoned that it was OK because I only ate 3 Caramel flavored rice cakes haha, theres worse things I could have been eating... like the chocolate easter bunnies I have in my room still.
Good thing I don't really favor chocolate, huh?

Oh she's pretty. So is Selma Hayek. Gorgeous, but not like two bones and a skull put together.

Yeah! That's a good way of putting it! And it's nice that you don't like chocolate. That is a downfall for many people. Stupid Chocolate making us like it and then making us fat... :x

Lol don't get me wrong, I'm a female too so I get cravings sometimes, but if I had my choice of snacks chocolate would be at the bottom!
Usually I'd be feinding for chips of some sort.
But now I snack on fresh strawberries and jello....and rice cakes haha. And I don't feel like I'm sacrificing anything because they're yummy and i like them anyways ahah!

Morien 04-19-2007 09:02 PM

LOL ... I just had some fresh strawberries! XD

Well, I'm going to go work on my writing for class, so... good luck with your diet and I hope to run into you again sometime! <3

Just doing a mini celebration over here!
Its the beginning of day 6 and I've lost 2 out of the 3 pounds that was my goal for this week!
I have until monday to drop the third pound, and I dont think it will be an issue!

I spent about an hour talking to my mom on the phone last night, I asked her for tips and encouragment. Two years ago she dropped 60 pounds in less than 6 months and she has kept 50 of those pounds off. She is a great inspiration, and she's fully rooting for me!
Its awesome to have the kind of support I have... it makes me really want to succeed that much more!

I've over time become a pretty healthy eater:
I don't eat much meat except for fish
I eat almost no junk food, because I don't buy it
I don't drink soda
I eat almost no lunch, I drink instead of eating at breakfast, and I stick to 1 serving at dinner
Preferred snacks: fruit, jello, etc.

No, my problem is that I don't have time to exercise. But if I do, I jog/brisk walk on an exercise machine for 1 hour.

Studies show that diets never work for more than a year and that often more weight is gained back. In my belief DIET is a four letter word for a reason.

sukishine 04-20-2007 09:53 PM

I would love to lose about 20lbs....but it's hard since my dad brings home junk food.
I have been drinking only water for about a year and a half now. I noticed I was losing a little weight when I stopped drinking pop, but after a while my body is just used to having a lot of water, so it becomes even more of a necessity instead of just a way of dieting.
I don't have time to exercise right now, with school and everything. One of my problems is eating at night. I just don't know how to lose weight. ;---;

Seiki Nova 04-20-2007 10:01 PM

I've lost five pounds in the last week just by cutting calories and exercising. I will admit that I'm a lazy person, but I only have 15 days till prom, and I have to lose the weight. I'm actually going to go ride my bike now after being a cow today at school thanks to my French teacher.

Bagels, Pretzels, Cream Cheese, Cake, Brownies. That woman wants me to stay fat ><

Seiki Nova 04-20-2007 10:38 PM

Ok, now I'm back from riding for half an hour. I just found out that I'm playing tennis later with my family as well. I need it to burn off all the calories I had today. :o

Amelie 04-20-2007 11:23 PM

All admit that I would like to lose a little weight. But more than anything I want to tone the muscle in my abdomen and thighs. Anyone know a good way to do that?

geishaberry 04-21-2007 01:22 AM

There was recently a study published that said that most dieting is unhealthy, because when you go off it, you usually put on more than you lost. This can result in a MASSIVE increased risk in heart failure, blood clots and stroke.

It's SO much more effective (and healthy) to just eat lightly in general and just go out and get exercise regularly.

That study says that because most people who start diets only watch what they eat and excersize while they're LOSING the weight.
Once its off, they revert.

Diets can be successful, you just have to change the way you eat and excersize for life!
Its a big commitment, but it does happen.

for your thighs you could try speed walking and doing squats!
As for your abdomen, crunches are always a good way!

I can understand that. But thats where most people who take part in these studies make their mistakes. If you adopt a diet you should adopt a realistic one that you can stick to long term. You cant just drop the weight and go back to eating big macs.
It has to be a life change.

The word DIET is so sketchy and has negative connotations for some reason. I'm not depriving myself of anything, and I'm not taking any weird pills or gimmicky crap to lose weight... which is what most people associate diets with these days.
I just don't know what else to call it?

How about this: I'm changing my life for the better.
It's been nearly a week and so far I have been successful.
I know I will keep this weight off,not just to prove a point that it can be done... but just because I know I have the will power and the brain to be able to.

You didn't HAVE to eat what your french teacher provided  but it's ok that you did!
Have fun playing tennis with your fam!
I'm about to head off on an hour-long speed walk!

Elwing 04-21-2007 01:42 AM

I tried a diet once, but I just can't keep myself on it.
I'm ok with how I look though now, not large, not skinny.

I remember that a friend of mine was on a diet because she
thinks she was the fattest person in the world, blahdieblah...
and she thought I ate too much each day. >_>
I just eat like a healty person would eat.
And she made a diet for me, what was good for me to eat every week.
Hell no -_- just. hell. no.

She also wanted to go cycling and jogging with me ...
I can't even walk for an half an hour because I have bad knees...
And besides, when I come home all tired, I eat myself full and fall asleep.
:) Just like my mom used to do after jogging my friends mother XD

Hahahaha the thing about diets, is that NO ONE can tell you when or how to do it, because you'll disagree and you just won't. Its true.
YOU have to decide to do it for yourself. You have to be in the right mindframe, you have to want to do it because... if you don't really want to? you wont!
I dont blame you for giving up on a completley whack diet that your friend designed for you.
I'm also happy that you're happy with your body!

No, but bagels are my weakness. I can refuse everything in the world, but not bagels.

I had three cinnamon-raison bagels (they were mini bagels) with cream cheese and a small piece of brownie that Lindsey couldn't finish because it hurt her teeth (she has sensitive teeth and sometimes chocolate sets them off).

Mmmm I have some cinnamon-raisin bagels in my cupboard.... might have to eat half of one as a snack after my walk haha!

Haha. I'm telling you, they're irresistible!

sars 04-21-2007 02:08 AM

That they are!
But I am going to try to resist until tomorrow at breakfast!

OOOH you know whats really good on them?
Strawberry cream cheese.
It makes it taste like a delicious cheesecake of love!

sars 04-22-2007 07:37 AM

Fully had 2 beers tonight during the hockey game.
It was peer pressure, I tell you!
Its hard to resist a beer when theres 20 hot guys in your living room, and one of them whom you particularly like cracks open a beer and hands it to you.
No gold star for me tonight!
Still, I think I'm doing well!
The first week is always the hardest, and I've only had 2 minor slips!
Now if I can just make it to bed without stopping at my food cupboard and eating something, all will be well with the world!

Matty 04-22-2007 07:47 AM

Thankfully, I don't have to diet. Everyone in my family has some kind of a weight problem, except me, my brother, and my sister. Otherwise, most of my family is pretty obese. Kind of weird, eh? :P

Not really!
Everyone on my dads side of the family is super suuuper obese (part of the reason I'm trying to get healthy NOW) but my sister and I are both just slightly overweight because of lazyness haha.
We're kicking it in the ass though- one day at a time!

I think its great that you dont have to worry about weight issues though! It's kind of a pain sometimes!
