Your goal is very reasonable, and your plan looks good as well!
Swimming is such a great excersize! I'm not A very strong swimmer myself, so I chose walking instead!

Swimming is great especially for me because my knees are bad.
I like walking and as soon as it stops raining and storming I plan on walking too.

And of course the day I decided to exercise I get sick and can barely breath.

I am so glad to see new people coming to do this. It's awesome to want to make a change for the healthier!!
Your excersise plan is good for now to ease yourself in. Give yourself a month of that and maybe bump your neighborhood walks up to 3 times a week! Just keep challenging yourself and you will do great! :)
@ Cuppycake +Lilith-- OH NOES!! I hope you both feel better soon!!!
I did SO much walking yesterday. About 3 hours of continuous walking. It was so gorgeous downtown, and there is so much going on in my city for the long weekend that I had to check it out.
Today I only walked for about a half and hour home with groceries.... but at leas it was something!!

How's it going?!!!
this poor, slow moving little thread.
Well guys, I seem to have dropped a couple of pounds without even really trying! I feel great today!
I am probably going to be a little bit naughty over the next 4 days... it's my birthday on saturday (i'm turning 25! omg) and for example, today my parents are coming for a visit and we'll go out for lunch.... and they'll probably buy me an amazing candy apple downtown... and then of course i'll have to have some cake on saturday... oh well. At least I'll be playing tourist all day, so I'll walk it off!

I have a lime sitting in my bag, with a knife. This is so incase I get thirsty at work I can cut up some lime and put it into my water.... instead of running to the store to grab a pop or juice. I think pop and juice are some of my biggest vices right now, and trying to cut down will take a lot of will power.

... T_T I gained four pounds. -pokes my tummy- Whyyyy.. I've been eating less and walking more. Arghh
The summer is bad to me.. >_> there's nothing to eat but snacks and junk, because I cant eat a lunch at school. At least 3/5 days there's something healthy to eat..
I'm considering just eating breakfast, which is usually cereal, and skipping lunch to eat dinner later.
Is that a bad idea? >_<
I'm also trying to find the motivation to go out biking every day for at least an hour.. I don't have money to go swimming at all this summer. ):

it's a bad idea.
You should try to eat at least 3 good-sized meals a day. Ideally, you want 5-6 small meals, but who has the time in their day for THAT? (not me!)
I skip breakfast and that is my WORST habit. I really REALLY need to push myself to get better at that. I just generally don't like breakfast foods... so even if I have to make myself eat a spinach salad or something, I really need to start doing so.
Mmmmm now I am craving spinach salad...........

So I have a question about scales. My friend has an old fashioned scale and it says I'm at 175 (which I think for my size and build is okay high end of okay but okay just the same) but I bought this $10 digital one and it says I'm any where from 183 to 188 o.O so I'm not to apt to trust is when it gives me such a varied result each time. How can I tell if my scale is reliable?

You just need to use the same scale each time you weight. It doesn't really matter what the number is, as long as it's going down. :D
My scale is 3.5 pounds heavier than my doctor's scale, but I go by my scale instead. I'm always happily surprised when I go to the doctor and they say I weigh less than I think i do. :)

The scale I grew up with was 3lbs heavier, so we always subtracted 3lbs.
The scale I have now, I'm not sure if it is accurate or not, but like Sizzla said, it doesn't really matter what the scale says initially as long as you use the same one consistently and the number goes down.
Also, it helps to consistently weigh yourself at the same time of day each time you do it.
Either first thing when you get up, or last thing before you go to bed are good options.

I always weigh when I get to work, 8 a.m. exactly. And I'm always lighter in the mornings too, so that's something to consider. You gain between 1-2 pounds during the day just from eating and drinking. :)
And I'm not sure how you could uncalibrate a digital scale... I think that's just how it's been made.

Well I fallowed Hollywoods sig I guess I'm not the only one >.< I guess the munchies are really taking their toll on us huh? Exercise in the summer isn't so bad because you can do so much more outside: swim, hike, beach walks, bike rides. I can't do anything like that in cold rainy weather.
So I started weighing myself right after my yoga in the morning and today at first it said 178 so I got excited and got back to double check and it said 184 o.O How much do scales generally vary by? because I might just invest in one of the fashioned one.

I eat a lot when I'm about to be on my period ._. but I lose all the weight afterwards. I have been eating a lot at night lately though while I'm stoned or drunk, like right before bed. WORST THING YOU CAN DO FOR YOUR WEIGHT. I want to go hiking more often, and I have a pool now so I can go swimming and get a tan while I'm at it :D
Yoga is awesome! Have you tried pilates?
I think your scale is retarded, lul. It shouldn't vary by that much; actually, your weight on the scale shouldn't change at all if you just got on and off and on again.
