Ichi the Killer?
My friend brought her DVD of it to school the other day, and the case was a clear bag with 'blood' inside. I thought the substance looked more like it should be going on my pancakes. XD But I've never actually seen the movie, just its case. |
Hmm ... I think I rented a horror movie that was japanese once. x'D
And I did watch The Grudge and The ring. x'D |
I've seen the Grudge too, but never an actual Japanese horror movie. They've only been explained to me in great detail. Besides, horror and me do not mix. At all. I don't think I'll ever stop being a slave to my overactive imagination when it comes to them. D=
|
I HATE the American re-makes. America just can't do horror like Japan, and yes this film is just like it's case. The first death was just the clean up crew going in and there were entrails all over the floor and blood covered every surface but from the title screen you should get to see at least some of the actual violence later on. Japanese either warp your mind with their horror like with the grudge or just fill it with as much violence as possable. I like both depending on my mood.
You'd know if you saw japanese horror. It's in Japanese. Moon. |
That's totally why I plan to never see a real Japanese horror movie. If I can't deal with the reflection of the alien on the TV in Signs (which isn't even supposed to be scary, ugh), I'll never stand a chance against Japanese horror. It's just so... twisted.
|
Well... The eye movie thing was in japanese, I think.
That was long ago. O-o The others were the re-makes. Horror for U.S. means naked women getting killed. D: |
Well currently they have someone suspended from the roof by hooks on steel wires through his back and arms and have stuck razor pin through his left cheek and into his mouth and through the bottom of hi jaw into his mouth and have just poured boiling fat onto his bare back which made me wince. And it's only just warming up. God the Japanese are so evily twisted with their horrors. It's so sick! But I can't help but be enthralled! But their phsychological things twist your mind. They can have nothing happening at all just hint at things. Like a door creaking open and then a girl hide under the duvets but they're really good at it and it scares me far more than anything the Americans pull. They get into your mind and it's freaky!
I'm glad the British never try to make horror movies we'd suck even more than the Americans at them :P |
>.< Yeah, I can totally deal with the nekkid women being killed for some reason though.
That puts a whole new twist on 'dangerously creative'. Aww, those crazeh serial killers. I don't think I could watch that with a straight face. Probably some weird squinty face... |
*squirms* Now the guy cut off his own tongue as appology for torturing the other guy...
These gory things are squirmy and funny! |
I love psychological horror movies. x'D
I watch any horror movies. Now a days most are crap. > _< |
So, Ichi just cut off his own tongue? Isn't he supposed to have some slashes on his cheeks so when he smokes the smoke drifts out or something?
That's a pretty funny sense of honor, though. XD "I just tortured you, here, let me cut off my own tongue. Feel better?" |
That's not ichi. That's Kakihara. I'll spell it when they next say it. But yeah same character.
He was torturing Suzuki thinking that Suzuki had kidnapped boss Anjo. But he hadn't and as both their gangs are on the same side he was about to get kicked out of the syndicate so he cut off his own tongue as an appology because it wasn't a case of three fingers would do. And Kakiharas greatest pleasure is sweet things so he cut off the source of his greatest pleasure. You gotta remember, different culture. This signifies his sincere appology. Which is accepted because Suzuki has afterall been creating trouble for them to suspect him in the first place. Of course Suzuki wants to kill Kakihara now but the syndicate accepts his appology :P Ichi has thus far remained faceless. I reckon he's the one who likes the beaten woman in the club. As he offered to kill the guy who beat her :P Yep. That's Ichi. A snot face driviling idiot but man can he fight! |
So, there's more layers to the movie than Ichi just running around and killing people? I should have suspected this.
Ooh, syndicates. Like yakuza or regular gang? I'm like, totally interested now that the whole layers aspect has been brought up. Ichi would probably be the guy taking BJs from abused women. XD A guy making eccentric offers to kill the torturer couldn't be anyone else. Psychological horror is way better than the "lulz, random unmotivated creepy guy killing people." It gets pretty drab. Edit: It was Ichi? Awesome! You've always gotta watch out for those snot nosed types. And the best part is totally when they unleash their awesome kick-butt talents. Bwaha. |
* O* I'm watching shark attacks on tv.
I don't like sharks at all. :[ I bought a sketch journal today x'D Yay. |
-dead-
x_________x |
I totally watched Shark Week. XD Mike Rowe is amazing, but sharks, not so much.
|
Yeah they're a syndicate like the yakuza only a different one. There are several factions within the syndicate. Just like with the Yakuza. Kakihara is the right hand man of his bosses faction. he enjoys violence and loves Anjo for the violent acts commited (I'm guessing Anjo gave him his smoke blowing holes in his face).
Anyway Kakiharas brother did them some harm in the past and is now with some other people. He's the clean up crew if you like and Ichi is their killer. Ichi Killed Anjo and Kakihara is tearing up the city to find out which boss is behind his bosses dissapearance. Ichi likes to kill because of something that happened in school. Involving a school girl and about five school boys. Anyway it turned him on so he now gets aroused by violence. A little warped but hey these are the Japanese and I've yet to see a film by them that isn't. So Kakihara killed his brother after he found out that his brother was in on his bosses death. The syndicate has thrown him out now because of his arrogance but there's something about it that's making me think that it's not by choice. The eader seems like he's got a knife to his back. Ichi killed the abuser but the girl didn't react properly after thanking him she attacked him. Understandably he'd killed her man! So Ichi cut her throat in the worse cut throat spraying way that makes me crave strawberry sauce. Ichi is apparently after Kakihara next as well so there is some rivalry between Ichis people the syndicate (Ichis people set Suzuki up for the crime. Suzuki's in the same syndicate). |
Mike Rowe is awesome indeed ! x'D <33
I've always been scared of sharks. Mostly because of the movies. But ... open water at night -shudders- Anything can be down there ! ; o; |
Sharks fascinate me!
Cool on the sketchbook. Ooooh just revealed this syndicate is one of the Yakuza syndicates afterall. Spot on! Although Every Yakuza in Japan are now after the Anjo gang because they've been expelled... |
I'll be going to try to sleep.
I have to wake up early tomorrow. * O* |
Ok night night Moon
|
What I want to know is how Mike Rowe went from singing opera to Dirty Jobs. Whaaat? O.o
I like learning about sharks (and all the stuff that's deep in the ocean - like giant squid, bwaha), but I'm not too scared of them because I avoid the beach like the plague (sand and sun = torture). But I am scared of the deep end of the pool at night, still. Eh, I just figured if it's a Japanese gang, why not be Yakuza? The movie sounds like it's totally heating up. Nom nom, I want to see it now. It's a terrible comparison, but it's giving me some of the same vibes from when I read Battle Royale the other day. Edit: G'night Moon! Wish I were as responsible as you to get to bed early. =D |
hehe I own the book, manga and film :P Battle Royale is amazing! I like shinji and Kiriyama.
It's along the same warped violent lines but at the same time completly different this is more about people who enjoy the pain and suffering inflicted either on others or to themselves Like kakihara is making Karen beat the Sh** out of him for his own pleasure, which Karen is only too pleased to do because she's a power hound. He's a boss she wants to be his girl. And she likes the fact that he'll kill anyone for those around him :P I hate the beach too and I hate chlorene so I avoid the swimming pools too. |
I've only read the book and seen the movie and don't own either. Shinji and Shogo were totally my favorites. It was such a drag because with their powers combined they could have summoned Captain Planet, err, probably destroyed the system I mean. And the movie didn't do Shinji justice at all. ;_;
I understand the difference, but this movie still seems like twisted fun. I love swimming, but I only really swim in my relative's pools so I don't have much of a problem with them. And I sunburn like crazy, so there's nothing worse than the beach, and the sand, and the salt, and the.... Beaches = baaad. |
