How are you? What have you done since we last talked? ^_^ I have formation at 4pm...lamers.

I've been doing work. I didn't finish my thematic unit project until 12 am last night. Right now I'm working on my assessment of this student I have been reading with. I spent two hours this morning trying to think of a topic for a webquest I have to make.

Do you have any suggestions? No one seems to know what a webquest is. My mom said lego's........HA....it made me laugh.

Anyways, I can work with any subject area you can think of.

Haha, yeah, the sergeant told us he doesn't trust us enough to let us have any later than 4pm off. Which is weird since the past two days we had formation at 8:30pm and 6:30pm...only he doesn't trust us. BUT...yesterday the sergeant couldn't believe we were all back before 6:30pm that he did accountability TWICE. We had to hold out our ID cards too.

Busy busy...I remember being up past 9pm...JKJK!

The main theme of my unit is Goods and Services and the value of work and different jobs in the community. I have lesson plans on all of these so I didn't think I needed to make a webquest about them.

So each day of the week my students come in and we are going to have different jobs.

On monday we are archaeologists or whatever I decide to make it.
Tuesday we are musicians
Wednesday we are writers
thursday we are vets

and for each day we do an activity based on that job. So i figured the webquest could be the activity for one of the jobs.

But I think since this is a social studies class she wanted the webquest to be about our specific social studies concepts....here are mine.

TEKS:
(7) Economics. The student understands the concepts of goods and services. The student is expected to:
(A) identify examples of goods and services in the home, school, and community;
(B) identify ways people exchange goods and services; and
(C) identify the role of markets in the exchange of goods and services

(8) Economics. The student understands the condition of not being able to have all the goods and services one wants. The student is expected to:
(A) identify examples of people wanting more than they can have;
(B) explain why wanting more than they can have requires that people make choices; and
(C) identify examples of choices families make when buying goods and services.

(9) Economics. The student understands the value of work. The student is expected to:
(A) describe the requirements of various jobs and the characteristics of a job well-performed; and
(B) describe how specialized jobs contribute to the production of goods and services

I know! I was like...we're all adults here...and he still can't believe we know how to go back "home" by a certain time?? They keep trying to catch privates over at the Hacienda - a club/bar. But nope, can't find us there. Just people in other companies already. The sergeant yesterday was seriously skipping when he returned with nine soldier's name tags.

Hahaha, only thing that came into my mind after reading all that was Wal-Mart. How sad is that...

The lamest TEKS in the world for a webquest. *laughs* That's why I figured I could base the webquest off one of the activities for the day. It's for first graders so that narrows the ball park a lot.

I dont have a good memory at all! I think I have my webquest. It came to me while I went to punch my sister's arm cuz she's so cute!

I'm going to have them create an invention of the future! DUN DUN DUN!!! *laughs* Some invention that goes in the house that will be able to make life a little easier. Something like that. To make it cute, I will have my sister draw a picture of an invention or something. I will too. Something crazy so the peers in my class will laugh and I'll get a good grade. *laughs* Anyways, that sounds fine!

Speaking of showers...they suck here. We don't have stalls. Just a big open shower with seven shower heads. I miss the little bit of privacy we had in basic! Only thing that comes out of it is my self esteem is better. JK! I'm just saying though...after basic, you'd think most of us would be all buff and fit. Nope!
