@TK: Well, it's not set in stone or anything like that yet, so I'm trying not to worry about it until I know that there's a reason to worry.

--EDIT--

@Aryah:  I didn't know that you were so serious about that thought. I thought you meant it more as a joke than anything else. :ninja:

Rusalka 06-07-2009 05:25 AM

Aryah; Hehe. :XP

Dimi; It's too bad that companies can do that.. >.< But seeing that it is possible.. I hope you don't lose your job.

Sorry it took me a while was replying to someone on msn

Aryah_Jade 06-07-2009 05:28 AM

@ultima: Well, if it comes to the point that my only available option is sales or the military... I may have no real choice... that's all I'm saying.

@Kale: Xp

Dimitri Bloodbane 06-07-2009 05:30 AM

@Kale: Yeah, I hope not either. *crosses fingers*

I see. I was beginning to think that you fell asleep at your keyboard. *has done that before* :P

--EDIT--

@Aryah: Well, it just kinda surprised me, ya know?
I suppose that depends on the type of sales, right?

ToriKat 06-07-2009 05:34 AM

*hugs Aryah and Ultima* Just keep your head up. <3

@Aryah: If you become serious about it, talk to me first. And let me know whatever the recruiters tell you. I don't want you turning out to be one of those who end up screwed over. >_>;;

Dimitri Bloodbane 06-07-2009 05:37 AM

@TK: Thanks, we're trying. It gets kinda hard sometimes, though.

By the way, is there some kind of like age limit where the military looks at a possible recruit and says something like "you're how old!? Thanks, but no thanks. :XP "? Just curious.

Aryah_Jade 06-07-2009 05:47 AM

@Ultima: depends on the type of sales?! Uh, no... it doesn't.... all sales jobs are a kick in the ass.

@TK: Okay, will do. that's something that really scares me, too... that, and the fact that I have no idea what I'd wanna be trained for. although, I'd probably flunk the PT, anyway. *shrugs*

Rusalka 06-07-2009 05:52 AM

Yeah I've done that before as well. xD

Sorry again everyone's PMing me at once lol!

Dimitri Bloodbane 06-07-2009 05:56 AM

@Aryah: Have you even had any sales jobs? I'll grant you that most suck. And the other ones always have bad days. But some sales jobs are more...tolerable than others. Like if you're working in a store that you enjoy shopping in. For instance, Kale working at a book store. She enjoys reading books, and she gets a discount, so her job is more tolerable than if she were working at something like a grocery store where she doesn't even get a discount. *has worked at a grocery store and knows how much it sucks*

@Kale:
That's alright. Everybody has days like that.
By the way, would you say that my reply to Aryah is fairly accurate?

Rusalka 06-07-2009 05:57 AM

Hm.. so.. what's up?

Aryah_Jade 06-07-2009 05:59 AM

@Ultima: Okay then... what sort of store could you see me working in, where I wouldn't have to buy a whole new wardrobe?

ToriKat 06-07-2009 06:00 AM

@Ultima: xD The Army takes people up to 42 years old. 8D I knew a lot of people who were in their mid thirties at basic and AIT. I'm not sure about the other branches though. I think Air Force is 28, 34 if you have a college degree? I know the Air Force and Navy are pretty strict about things.

@Aryah: What they'll do is have you take the ASVAB. It'll test on basic math, English vocabulary, science, mechanics, electronics...and some other things. xD I can't recall. Then depending on your scores, they'll show you two things - one, which jobs you qualify for due to what you know and two, which jobs are available at the moment. They change depending on how many people reserve spots, show up, go to classes, and so on. The recruiters will encourage you pick something you're interested in and what you show aptitude toward.

What are you interested in, anyways? :3

PT is...pretty tough at first. xD I won't deny it. Basic is going to make you feel like they just killed you day in and day out. But it's the fastest way to get you physically fit in nine weeks. x_x They're starting to have physical therapists in basic training, so that's a huge improvement. I would've died without mine. xD She was there to uplift my mood, not just help me with my joint aches and ripped up feet.

Rusalka 06-07-2009 06:01 AM

Dimi; Yeah that's rather accurate!! very accurate.
I'm also looking to work in a pet store to be able to work with animals as well.

Dimitri Bloodbane 06-07-2009 06:02 AM

@Kale: Not a lot. Just trying to relax and not think about crap with work. How about you?

@Aryah: Hot Topic or Best Buy (I think this one provides uniforms) are the first two that pop out in my mind.

ToriKat 06-07-2009 06:04 AM

I would totally work in a book store if I had the chance. *sniffles*

Dimitri Bloodbane 06-07-2009 06:07 AM

@Kale: That's right, I remember you mentioning that before.

@TK: Really? I figured that the cut off would have been closer to early - mid thirties. Good lord, I could just imagine how much I'd be hurting after PT every day during basic! :gonk: :XP

Rusalka 06-07-2009 06:07 AM

Dimi; Just rping on msn, and poking another. :XP
I'd nearly called you Tori as well.

You'd received a free sex and name change.

Tori; -nods- It gets boring after a while though.. the only interesting part for me is returns... and shelving Manga.

Aryah_Jade 06-07-2009 06:08 AM

@Ultima: shirts maybe, but not everything else...

@TK: well, my physical aptitude isn't just that I'm out of shape as much as the fact that I actually have some health/joint issues...

as for what I like.... I like to read, draw, write, I like computers, biology, math, music, marine mammology.... I don't like dealing with people in general, being made to feel stupid or foolish, the usual I guess...
I dunno... I'm really only able to deal with my own wounds/body though

Dimitri Bloodbane 06-07-2009 06:10 AM

@Kale: :XD I think Aryah would have issues with the sex change thing :ninja:
Besides, I'm perfectly happy being a male, thank you.

@Aryah: Hmm, you might have a point there. But, you already have almost everything you'd need to work at Hot Topic, right. I can't even begin to remember how many shirts that you've gotten from there.

Rusalka 06-07-2009 06:10 AM

Aryah; I've joint issues too... even at my age my knees are horrible, so I know what you're getting at there. Especially when being on feet for 5 - 8 hours, and carrying 50-70lbs worth of books in a load.

Dimi; What, you don't think you'd enjoy being female!

Aryah_Jade 06-07-2009 06:12 AM

@Kale: Yeah, can you imagine me with one of those giant packs, trapsing around some war zone? all 5'0" of me.

Dimitri Bloodbane 06-07-2009 06:14 AM

@Kale: Meh, I doubt it. >.>

Rusalka 06-07-2009 06:20 AM

Aryah; Just about as much as I can see my 5'2" doing so. The question had been asked of me when I was dating a boy going into the army (who wimped out in basic training merely ).

I guess the good thing of it would be that we're short so we don't have to duck too far.

Dimi;

Aryah_Jade 06-07-2009 06:24 AM

@Kale: Aaaand, we have a lower center of gravity! ;)

EDIT:

Maybe if I'd gone ahead and done it right after high school, like some of my classmates did.... maybe then it would've gone well for me. I was actually in pretty good shape in high school, in my opinion... xD

Rusalka 06-07-2009 06:26 AM

Aryah; Yup, yup.
