Well I normally get a base pay of $6.00/hr, and I get paid commission on the work I do to each and every vehicle. When I get overtime pay, I get time-and-a-half on my base pay (which brings it up to $9.00/hr), but my commission stays the same.

Yeah, tell me about it. And, while I was teaching this guy how to drive his truck and while I was getting his truck unstuck, most of the guys in the shop were watching the whole ordeal. Afterward, they were telling me that I should go back to driving a truck for a living. :lol: And then the shop manager came up out of the blue and asked me if my CDL was still valid. :? I'm still trying to figure that one out.

@TK: Meh, Schneider doesn't want me back because I told them that the rollover accident was partially their fault for failing to get my truck in for it's scheduled PM, and putting a load on me and sending me on my way instead. Since they couldn't legally fire me, they just put me on hold for like 3 months with no work until I got fed up and quit. Then they put a DNH on my company record... :stare: And I think my CDL is good until 2012 before I have to renew it.

@Kat: A CDL is a Commercial Driver's License. You need one to drive big trucks like tractor-trailers, dump trucks, cement trucks, public buses, etc. I used to be a trucker driving tractor-trailers.

@Kat: Eh, long story short, I was hauling a load through the mountains of WV at night in the rain when I got passed around a curve by another tractor-trailer. I think he clipped the front end of my truck with the back of his trailer, but I can't prove it. Anyway, it caused me to hit the guardrail on the side of the interstate which caused my truck to flip over on it's side and slide across the interstate to the opposite side into the jersey barrier on the other side.

@TK: Sorry, I meant DNR, which stands for Do Not Re-hire. Yeah, that's the way companies (especially big ones) operate. Which is a load of shit, but what can I do about it?

oh wow, that sounds pretty scary and dangerous! I was in a minor car accident once and it scared the crap out of me! and my brother just drove into a pick up truck.

I take lactaid pills and I ran out this week and now I realize how much they were helping me.

@Kat: Actually, it all happened so fast that I didn't have time to be scared. It didn't stop me from getting behind the wheel of any vehicles and driving after the accident, though.

@TK: The sad thing is that Aryah is actually driving for that same company... :XP I have mixed feelings about that, but it's not like I can tell her "No you can't drive for them because of what they did to me."

wow. I bet I'd be scared. then again, I'm scared of driving on highways where its like a bridge way up in the air and it curves!! :cry: its only scary when I'm the one driving!

@Kat: *heh* You wouldn't like driving with me when I get into a race (which I don't do when I have passengers in the car with me, by the way). My car is a 2004 Pontiac GTO, and I still haven't figured out just how fast it'll go yet. I know it'll go faster than 155mph, though. :ninja: I love driving my car. :)

naw, I love it when other people drive crazy!! :P but I'm very insecure as a driver. my brother likes to take corners fast and purposely do crazy stuff to scare other people but I love it. this guy at school was doing it and I was the only one having fun because he reminded me of my brother.

perhaps not with his track record....:stare: he's wreck prone I swear. though mostly he hits cars in the driveway or parking lots because he's a numbnut. but I have heard that he and my cousin had a race on the high way (probably during the day and like so over the speed limit) my cousin says he hit 100 mpr

I've got a 200mph speedometer in my car, and I have some modifications in mind to make sure that my car is capable of using up every bit of that speedometer if she isn't able to already. :P

I've never been big on driving...I hadn't driven in forever, and they made me drive the big military vehicles. Since you have to drive slow in them on post, it was kind of fun. 8D

yeah, I just keep the pills in my purse and you only eat them when you are going to eat a dairy product. I did forget that one time I had a pint of ice cream. that was not a happy day.

Eh, we'll see. It's hard to say what a large company will do when push comes to shove.

I'm not really certain what's going on with Aryah's comp, but it doesn't seem to be good. She said that she ran a check and repair on her system and it said it failed on one of her system folders or something like that. I'm hoping that, in the worst-case scenario, she'll only have to do a wipe and boot. But, we'll have to wait and see.

I hope her computer doesn't end up like my desktop. (hasn't worked for years)!!
