@Kat: I get absorbed in them, so I really never have time for the way I read.
oh, you write songs, huh? What kind? I always wanted to do that, but between having only a basic knowledge of all of about 3 1/2 instruments, and no music theory knowledge, well.... you get the point.

I write the lyrics. I can play piano but I can't read music so I can't write that.

I used to read like that. I haven't gotten into a good book so I just don't bother to read.

Okay, now that's another reason I don't play that game. I can make a few hundred gold on tetris.

@Kat: I can read music, but not well enough to play any piano music. I understand how to play piano, but I have no experience with the bass cleft, so that trips me up. I learned to play the Trumpet in grade school, and then agreed to play the French horn my senior year because our director asked for volunteers since he only had one person playing that instrument *shrugs* and, I tried to teach myself saxophone using my step-sisters, because I really like that instrument.

Piano is basically an easy instrument I think, it's just the mental acuity that's required.

@sushi: LOL, i had a friend in High School, very smart guy, put Mario Bros on his calculator. XP

@love: I didn't used to be. I think it just requires practice, and being able to multitask helps.

Dimitri: Oh, I love the piano, I can play somewhat, but I can't read music, I just play by ear. And I just need to learn to multitask better.

-paces and tries to wait patiently for her parcel from Australia to get here- Don't like waiting!

I can play very well, but by instinct of looking at the music, but I can't read it actually. musicallity runs in teh family. piano really is very easy.

@Love &Kat: Oh, I've always been envious of people like that. I once heard someone play Furlise, the whole song I think, and then found out everything he played was learned by ear and then memorized! :gonk: (yeah, I knew a lot of really intelligent and talented people in school)

@Sushi: Maybe some other time.... I normally write my own stuff. :)

It would be nice to have someone to bounce ideas off of though. Maybe I can hire you to fix lines that don't sound right some time?

I want to see helios!!

I definately can't play by ear, but if I look at the music I can play but I can't name a single not on it. I learned no music theory. I can't play fur elise, but I once played part of some piece by Mozart.

Oh, I love that song!! I can play the first part of that by ear - just heard it played a few times and I was able to learn to just play it from memory. My mum is WAY better at it than me. Definately a musical family here!

I can also sing too, no actual training, and I rarely sing in front of others, but when people do hear my sing they're like "Love! you can sing!" :O

I was actually kinda left out in my families musical legacy. my older brother can play multiple instuments and my younger one is trying his hand at composing music for piano.
