And how are you tonight? Other than being happy for no reason, I mean.

Hrm, I dunno about fun, per-say. It's definitely interesting, though. I mean, there must be some really color blind people coming up with the names for some of these colors. Or, maybe I'm the color blind person. Because the names for some of these colors don't match what I'd consider the color to be...
Wow, happy and bored at the same time? That's a new combination. I wonder what will come out of that mood of yours tonight?

what, like the paint samples at home depot? they say things like cinnamon or coral and I'm just like....sure, if you're looking at it through a different colored lens. (wow, it took me 3 tries to spell that)
well, I'm easily amused when I'm bored and get realllly happy when I find something that amuses me. so that would explain it.

No, like colored pencils. For instance, this particular box of colors has a pencil called "ruby". Now, when you think of the color "ruby", what do you think of? Red, right? Like a bit of a darker shade of red than normal "red", right?
Well, this company apparently has it listed under some strange shade of purple (judging from the color of the wrap around the pencil). Yet, when you put it down on paper, it looks like some really, really dark shade of pink, but still too light of a shade to really be considered a red...
Ahh, yeah, that does explain your mix of moods. :P

oh, I remember crayons being like that. when I was little I loved to color at my grandpas house because he had hundreds of crayons and they had such cool names!! and actually, its garnets that are red, though a less dark dense color than the expected ruby. rubies on the other hand are actually mostly dark pink. that's why I have a garnet instead of a ruby in my class ring because i didn't want pink.
indeed! but I'm running out of things to amuse me. I should have brought that rolling car I found in a cereal box at home.

O.o;; Really? All the rubies I remember seeing looked like a deep red. Didn't notice any pink at all... I guess I am the color blind person...
GAH!! Why aren't there more shades of red? :gonk: Why isn't there a dark red, or a crimson, or anything like that?? There's a red, a red-orange, and a mahogany (reddish brown / brownish red... not really sure which)... I guess I'm just going to have to put out the money to get those Prismacolor colored pencils sooner than I thought.
Uh-oh. Running out of things to keep you amused when you're bored doesn't sound like a good thing. :ninja:

well no. rubies just tend to have a pink tone. I was told that when I was getting my ring. All the rocks and gems come in varied colors. I like I believe its garnets that also come in green. and I have quartz in lots of colors!! :D *rock enthusiast*
haha!! I'm sure the color you want exists, but its not helpful if you don't have it. you should mix the color and prismas are awesome. I got them as part of my supplies for art in high school. they're like.....I actually don't remember how much they are. I need to replace a few because some of my blues have disappeared.
yeah, I'm folding the second sheet of paper now.

Prismacolor pencils are pretty expensive, actually. Roughly $1.15 USD per pencil at the moment. They have a set of 132 different colors on sale for a little over $108.00 (the sale price was a little over $106.00 a couple of weeks ago, though. I guess that sale ended and they started a new sale...) that I'm planning on getting at some point.
And how many sheets do you have?

I have a pack of 12 which is really all I need. you can mix the other colors anyways though a few more wouldn't hurt. I don't see a need for 132 though!!!
I only have to make 2 then I actually have to construct my book.

Yeah, but Prismacolor has a lot of awesome colors to choose from (well, except for the grays. WAY too many shades of gray. But that's just my opinion). It's hard to just choose a few with as many wonderful choices as they have. Have you seen the entire list of colors that they have? *shrugs* True, but it's easier to have the color you want available rather than trying to mix the colors consistently to have a solid shade from start to finish, if you catch what I mean. I'm not all that great at mixing colored pencils, anyway. I'd end up having it too light of a shade in one spot, just right in another spot, and too dark in yet another spot. Mixing paint is a lot easier. You can mix a whole jar up at once and have a consistent shade available whenever you need it.
Oh, you're making a book, huh? Is it some kind of class project, or is it something that you're doing because you want to?

 mixing paint is so hard compared to prisma and I've had classes on paint!!! I hate mixing black most of all with paint!!! I can mix colors really well with crayons too. I can make it look like prisma. but watercolor pencils is the easiest of all to mix!! I would like to have more prismas now that I think of it. i was upset with it earlier because I have only one blue and a large stick not in pencil of a lighter blue.
its a tunnel book for my art class. I'd never make something like this on my own. its too complicated. though all the art I'm putting in it looks cool. I really love the leaves I painted with water color and my white charcoal tree.

Well, they say that every person's strengths and weaknesses are different from person to person. I don't really measure out any of the paints when I mix, though. I just figure out what color I want to start with, then I add different amounts of the primary colors until I stumble onto a shade that I like. :P I've never worked with Prismas, though, so I don't know what to expect yet.
Another thing I'd like to try is Copic markers. I've heard that they're really good, but I'm not sure about getting any. I'm not great with markers to begin with.
Ahh, ok. I was never any good with charcoal drawings. I'm always too messy. :XP

hm, its really hard to mix with just primaries. i'm in a color class and we use paint and I'm learning how to use it better, but its not my medium of choice. and prismas are so much easier to work with than colored pencils.
um, are those those really expensive marker things? I don't get how to use those.
really? I love charcoal!!! and I like to purposely smear it all um so its hazy.

Well, I don't really use paint anymore except to paint my models, and there are SO many pre-mixed colors to choose from. But I still tend to mix them to get like a custom color or something like that. :P The last time I used paint for pictures was way back in high school. At that time, we were only allowed to use the primary colors. Then again, we were allowed to "cheat" with white paint and pre-mixed black paint, too. :ninja: Oro? Prismas are colored pencils. ;)
Yeah, they're supposed to be some kind of high-grade art markers. I don't have a clue how much they cost, though. *is afraid to check*
Dang! *snaps fingers* I should have thought to use that excuse when my charcoal "art" was being graded in that art class.

what kind of models do you make? we have a few set colors we can used in my class and black is not one of them. we can use white, the primary's and like burnt sienna and umber. that's the easy colors to use to make black because they're so low in value
no they're not!!! they're different. prismas are wax based.
oh, I have a two and I didn't like them. I don't see how they could possibly be useful. but I'm pretty sure they're more expensive than prismas.
well.....depends on if you can convince the teacher there was a reason its smeared and if the smear is even. anyways, I use a smearing stick on most of my stuff and blend it.

Mainly, I build model cars and trucks. Although, I have a few anime models, too. I don't get too many of those, though, because they're really expensive. Oh, they're wax based? I suppose that's why they're so expensive and why people like them so much. I've never tried to use wax based colored pencils before. I wonder how they'll work for me?
Hmm. I guess I'd better stay away from them, I guess. I don't want to put out a lot of money on something that won't do me any good and end up just sitting around collecting dust.

huh. wait, there are anime models? I did not know that.
yeah, waxy. they're easier to blend that way and you can smear them and make them really dense and um....waxy looking.
I have a lot of stuff like that. that's what my watercolor pencils were doing for the longest time until I used them on a black line project in design. I cant' get enough of them now. those oil pastels on the other hand.....
ya....I found another paper to write. wooooooot. -__-

Yeah, they're usually referred to as "garage kits", because that's where most people assemble / paint them. Well, let me rephrase: I don't think that I've ever used was-based colored pencils before. I'm not really sure, to be honest. All I know is that the only two brands of colored pencils that I have are Crayola and Rose Art. I guess it's possible that they might be wax-based. They certainly don't seem to have the same texture to them as the old colored pencils that I used to use long, long ago...
I'm not even sure what water-color pencils are, to be honest. How do they work? Do you have to dip them in water or something like that?
Ooo, a paper to... Heeeeyyyyyy, wait a minute... You mean like an essay, right? Yuck, essays suck. :XP (I'm kidding, by the way, about thinking that that was supposed to mean anything different ;) )

hm, we make things on the floor in the large room upstairs. its where we made the bookshelf kit, the kinex and lego stuff. never did a model though.
rose are and crayola should both be graphite based same as a pencil. I know they're different from prismas anyways.
you can dip them in water, but it works best in my opinion if you wet the paper then draw with the pencils are draw then paint over with water. the pencils are just the pigments and they leave it on the paper and it moves around like paint when you add water. I don't know how to describe it
*rolls eyes* yeah, another essay. this one is 5-6 pages long due thrusday.

Hmm, ok then. I just thought that they might be something other than graphite because they seem to go down on paper differently than graphite pencils. Maybe it's a softer composite than it used to be. I've noticed that the tips wear down a lot quicker than they used to so many years ago. And the colors seem to go down a lot smoother, too. *shrugs*
Hmm, what'll they think of next?
Wait, 5 - 6 pages due by Thursday? As in the day after tomorrow?? *drops "F-bomb"* :XP
