I'm back, almost done with my school project.

It's about the European upcoming GPS-system, Galileo. Two classmates of mine, who do the project together with me have sent me their information. The problem is that a LOT of their information is no longer up-to-date. So I have a lot of work checking everything if it is indeed still true, and deleting all info that has almost nothing to do with the subject. Quite a lot of work.

@Silenia: Ahh, I see. Just more proof that technology moves so fast. ^^; They don't...sound responsible if they're sending you information that's not quite...useful though. D:

Nah, problem is that about 90% of the information about it on the internet is no longer up to date. It's hard to find out what's true, what's false, etc.

Some sites, for example, still say that the project will be finished in 2008, but it's delayed, due to mostly financial trouble, and it will not be finished until 2013.

And yeah, I know, that is exactly why I asked them to send me the information, so I can filter, delete and/or change it.

@Silenia: Wow, delayed for that long? O_O But yeah...I can imagine. ^^; I haven't really used the internet for research in a long time. I've had to go to the library or just look up published research.

Yeah, but the problem is that the library isn't up to date either. Every few months things change about it. So I'm indeed looking up published research - but on the internet instead. Most research is pusblished on the internet too, otherwise I'd have a problem.

And yeah, at first it should be 2008 - then it turned out to be 2010 - and now it's even 2013.

Lawl, internet is not all that reliable for college level and up. :lol:

I google and search through the results to see if I can find the official site of the project or sites from newspapers, etc. Things that would be counted as official sources. I ignore wikipedia and other shit like that. Problem is also that parts of it are in Dutch, parts in English and I sometimes even find French or German sites. So I try to keep it to English and Dutch - they're both not really a problem, else than the fact that I have to write the project in Dutch so I keep translating. Ugh. But yeah, I finished about 80% of it now and I still have tomorrow as well. I only started today so I'll be done in time I guess.

@xuvrette: I love how many professors will warn us not to Wiki. 8D


@Silenia: xD Wikipedia is entertainment to me. Yet...I know a lot of people use it for homework and reports. :lol:

I am now typing all stuff out - we have to make a poster with all information and pictures of it etc.
The project has to be presented Wednesday, so it's useful to finish the poster the class before, which is scheduled on Monday, so I'll have to be done with this sh*t tomorrow evening I guess.
And we are supposed to present it, shortly however. We should tell a little bit about Galileo, etc.

And yeah, wikipedia is nice when you want to know what's probably NOT true. xD But I can easily see that quite a lot of the information they send me is from wikipedia and sites with even less quality.

And thank you, I honestly don't think I am speaking/typing English that well. I guess I make a lot of grammatical mistakes but I try to do my best.
