@Kat: Wow, that's gotta suck having that retainer still in there. Sometimes I think that dentists just do stuff like that to ensure that you have to come back for some reason or another. :roll:

I have an underbite pretty bad, but they just but something in that moved my jaw. yeah, I'm being forced to wear my retainer again because I decided to stop because its yucky to clean my removable one. apparently my teeth moved and the dentist care more than me
the retainer is thin wires attached to my teeth and honestly it doesn't matter if I ever go back and get it removed. trade accepted! |

Meh, I've heard about wires coming loose and piercing the gums/cheeks, though. :XP That's a chance I wouldn't want to take.

Yeah I had that wire thing too, Kat. I got my tongue stuck in it a few times. :XP After I got my braces removed though, I got retainers... top and bottom... my top one was like those invisiline things though, while the bottom had more wires and stuff. And you're right, they are nasty.

my bottom teeth were a bit weird, so there was a gap between the teeth and the wire... that's how I got my tongue stuck.... and I use to always have problems with getting to gut the tips off of the new wires... my mouth is just too small, so they often left bits of wire sticking out of the bands for fear of clipping me. :roll: I once ripped the band off trying to get the wire myself, though. That was a fun visit! :lol:

wow, my head is small, but my mouth is not. ^_^ its my top teeth that have all the gaps which is why I should be wearing that retainer now...>.> I wonder if I brought it with me to school.....ooh, I broke my braces a few times when a bracket was loose and I played with it until the brackets fell off and the wire popped out.

*lol* yeah... it's hard not too.... the thing just flips around the wire... it's goofy.
I hated having them though. I never wanted them in the first place, and the place I went to made a really big deal about getting them off. They gave me a jar of peanut M&M's (which I hate) some stupid balloon and some other crap and then made me pose for a picture with the doctor. They also made me write a "thank you" note to my dad.... pfft! I think I wrote something like "I never wanted them in the first place, hope you're happy with all the money you wasted" |
