@Kat: As does everything else...save wages, anyway... :XP
|
actually, I heard that the average salary is going up because the cost of living is, but that's the average salary. It may look a bit different from the individual's perspective.
|
Pft! If the average salary has increased, so have taxes to offset the difference. I have to work my ass off to make a decent paycheck, though. My base wage doesn't account for shit. :stare: I guess I just need to get a second job or something. Or maybe a different job altogether.
|
it wouldn't surprise me if they raised taxes because of it!
aw, that is rough. who knows what's the best thing to do though? |
How is your job going anyways, Ultima?
|
@Kat: It's just a pain in the ass to figure out. I mean, if I get a second job, that means I have to work more hours and have less time for myself and others. But it's still not easy to find a decent-paying job with decent hours and a set work schedule, either.
@TK: What can I say? I'm working my butt off in the heat, sweating my ass off, dying of heat exhaustion... I guess it's about normal. Seriously, though, I think it'd be more enjoyable if I had a set schedule with set hours and set days off every week. Then again, getting time off to spend with Aryah whenever she gets in town would be more difficult, too. |
hm, working more hours would be a real pain. nothing is easy though. *shrug* if you could find a better job, then maybe that would be easier. I don't know.
|
@Ultima: You enjoy working with cars though, so that's a plus too. xD I'm glad you get to spend time with her! She's doing well too, yes? :D
@Kat: If I got paid by the hour, trust me...I'd be thrilled to be working twenty four hour shifts. |
@Kat: Yeah, but most of the "enjoyable" jobs don't pay all that well. Sad but true.
@TK: True. But even that has it's limits. I mean, seeing how the general population treats their vehicles and all. She's doing well. I just wish I got to see more of her. *sigh* Then again, I wish I could see more of you, too. My poor little TK has been so busy lately with the army life that we hardly get to see her anymore.  |
you have a serious point there....unless you actually like business and sitting in cubicles. *coughs* my brother *cough cough*
brrr, I'm cold! |
@Ultima: People tear up their cars badly? D: I'll admit I don't know enough about cars to know how to properly care for one...Though...I've been working on military vehicles so long, I might have a general idea now?
I liked working at the clinic until we got so many people coming in just to escape work. >_> They learned what to say to get to go home. But their vitals don't lie. They're just so frustrating to deal with, especially when their leaders come in flipping out that we gave them the kind of care they didn't want us to give. *rolls eyes* And those who end up being genuinely hurt or sick, they stubbornly don't want to come in until they're beyond our care. @Kat: Air conditioner on too high? I shut mine off. xD It's funny because when you walk down the hallway toward my roommates room, it's freezing on that side. |
-wriggles in- Hi! OwO |
Hey zepear! How are you?
|
Mmm, Miki is a business woman, too. At least, I think she is. Reading her post in Trap makes me think that she's a little too familiar with the cubicle life to be somebody on the outside looking in. :ninja: Besides, I seem to recall her saying something herself about working in an office cubicle once before.
@Zea: Hey there. How's it going? |
Huh...I was wondering what kind of job Miki had. xD
|
Hi Dimi and TK! I'm doing great, just trying to write my reply to the roleplay owo |
yeah, the fans on high.
hey zea! grr, internet! so that's what Miki does! makes sense with her post. |
Hallo Kat! :D |
@TK: Oh, yes, they tear the crap outta their cars! And then they get all defensive and pissed when we start listing off everything that needs to be fixed or replaced. They act like we're trying to pull one over on them or something. Of course, there are some mechanics out there that give the rest of us a bad name. They tell customers that there's all this stuff that needs to be fixed that doesn't really need to be messed with at all. So I guess I can't really blame their skepticism, but it still gets annoying.
|
I can see why people don't like getting all that stuff fixed though. its expensive. I hear my parents complaining a lot about stuff they don't need to get fixed.
|
I know my parents took extremely good care of their cars. We had one that was older than I was and it was in good condition. They really don't make cars that last that long anymore. xD
|
@Kat: That's true, but anybody who thinks it's expensive to simply repair a vehicle should try looking into prices for modifying a vehicle. That price tends to be at least double, if not triple the price of simply repairing. Yet there's still a lot of people out there willing to modify their vehicles. Actually, not just willing, but actually happy to.
@TK: It's not that they don't last long anymore, it's just that it's more difficult to maintain them than it used to be. Especially with all the "advancements" in the vehicle's ECMs (the computer "brain" of the vehicle) |
o_o Do you work on those too?
|
oh yay, car talk! *has no idea what's going on anymore*
|
@TK: No, I'm not ASE certified for ECMs. So I wouldn't be able to work on them even if I wanted to. About the most I can do is remove an ECM and replace it with a new one or use a "code grabber" to read the fault codes stored in the ECMs memory, then clear them out.
@Kat:  Sorry about that. :P Sometimes, I start talking about cars and then just start rambling. If I ramble like that, you're welcome to knock me upside the head and tell me to quit doing it. |
