Kat Dakuu 08-23-2010 05:19 AM

hopefully. I'm going to go crazy otherwise. I like my internet way too much.

ToriKat 08-23-2010 05:19 AM

*watches Kat and Ultima's response to the beef* xD

I don't think I have any sense for color....so I fail at makeup as a media. xD

@Ultima: I'd like to consider it......an enhancement rather than using it to cover up? 8D

rampartte 08-23-2010 05:20 AM

Tori: Ha ha ha. Froggy got it's love back. *tosses meaty post back atcha* XD

Dimi: Woo hoo! *runs off to check*

Kat Dakuu 08-23-2010 05:21 AM

I think I'm pretty good at knowing what makeup looks good. I'm just no good at doing it.

rampartte 08-23-2010 05:26 AM

Kat D: Aww... what are you specifically trying to put on? blush? eye makeup? foundation? mascara? liner? powder? lipstick??

Dimi: And you get a post now! *slides one to you via hockey puck*

Kat Dakuu 08-23-2010 05:27 AM

lol, its eye makeup that gives me issues.

ToriKat 08-23-2010 05:27 AM

If I wear make up, all I'll wear is foundation, blush, and lip gloss. If I'm adventurous, I'll attempt to put on liner. 8D

@Miki: *passes a very ribbity frog post at you*

Dimitri Bloodbane 08-23-2010 05:29 AM

@Kat: Yeah, I'm addicted to the internet, too. Although about the only things I do online anymore seem to be "window shopping" (aka: getting ideas and making plans) for parts to modify my car and/or pickup, watching vids on youtube, and chatting/RPing here on Mene.

@TK: I still think you don't really need any makeup, but that's my opinion. I enjoy seeing a woman's "natural beauty". Foundation and a little blush is alright. Even a little lipstick/gloss can be good. But I'm not really a fan of heavy eyeshadow and gallons of mascara, lipstick that looks like it was put on with a paint roller, etc. Some women just don't seem to realize the difference between "light enhancement" and "christ, how much do you spend on makeup per week??"

--EDIT--

@Miki:  *dodges the hockey puck before it cracks my skull open. Rushes out while covering my head to check the post before I get assaulted with a barrage of hockey pucks*

Rusalka 08-23-2010 05:31 AM

Miki: Got ya a post to collars. :)

Tori: It's surprisingly easier than I expected it to be considering I've never used paints or pastels at all.. I'm not much of an artsy person whatsoever... but it works

Hm.. Here .. check out my best work so far to date: Picasa Web Albums - Jesslynne - Les' new faceup
Lesley had a fall and I had to redo his faceup and attempt to redo it. xP

And.. Picasa Web Albums - Jesslynne - 023 Jat's faceup before I peeled off the lips.. which look pretty good in pictures but in person were a mess. xD I need to work on the eyebrows as well. XD

rampartte 08-23-2010 05:32 AM

Tori: Uwah! Keeping me so busy! Sent a post back!

Dimi: Gah! *falls over*

Kat D: Aww... I suggest looking at youtube eyeshadow instructional videos to get some tips!

Kale: Weeeeeeee!

Kat Dakuu 08-23-2010 05:33 AM

the only think I do online is chat/shop on avi sites and look for drawing reference. mene is very addicting though.

aw, they look so pretty, rusa! I like Jat!

thanks. I will at some point, miki.

ToriKat 08-23-2010 05:36 AM

@Kale: Wow! They look really good! :D So you can remove the make up and apply new ones all the time? What kind of paint is it?

@Miki: YAY!

Dimitri Bloodbane 08-23-2010 05:37 AM

@Miki: Oro? What'd I do this time?

Rusalka 08-23-2010 05:40 AM

I meant attempt to hide damage there with Les.
Thanks Kat.

Tori: Yeah, you actually seal the doll with a coat of sealant.. be it Mr Super Clear (a spray from Japan), or Testor's dullcote.. I use Warhammer stuff because MSC is hard to get and I loathe testors as it has a yellow tint.. and on a white skin doll you see the yellow... and it doesn't hold pastel well.

I use chalk pastels mostly (oil = bad for resin) , I only own black acrylic paint but that's what's needed.. and watercolor pencils for the small hairs.. I'm nowhere near steady with a paint brush.

But you have to seal the doll or the faceup minus the pastel will stain the doll. xP and You seal it again to hold the work in place. To remove.. just acetone, alcohol or winsor & newton brush cleaner. I use the latter. Acetone is also bad for resin and I don't want the risk. Alcohol is good but.. I found it simpler just to get the brush cleaner. xP

ToriKat 08-23-2010 05:44 AM

@Miki: *attempting to hog you to myself* ;D Posted again!

@Kale: Wow, that's awesome that you can be so creative with them. <3 I'm liking them even more! Do they apply to only your brand of dolls, or all of them?

*looks at the pictures* So his face is a mask that you apply to the head? *tilts head to the side*

rampartte 08-23-2010 05:45 AM

Kale: Oooo.. notes on how to make a doll pretty. I fear if I ever got one my doll would end up being a clown though... a scary one. ^_^

And I posted to Collars!

Dimi: I dunno.. what DID you do? >_>

Kat D: Heh heh heh.

Dimitri Bloodbane 08-23-2010 05:47 AM

@TK: Oh, we get to hog people to ourselves now? :boogie: *curls up on your lap* Mine!  :P

@Miki: I'm not sure. :ninja: But first you launch a hockey puck at my head, then you say "gah" and fall over.

ToriKat 08-23-2010 05:48 AM

Of course! >D I'm a very greedy person. *would reside in Gluttony and Greed* D:

Tetsumiro 08-23-2010 05:49 AM

Anddd I've returned =__=! Someone please kill my hotmail for me or force it to work right ;__; *sigh!!*

rampartte 08-23-2010 05:50 AM

Tori: Gack!! Posted back! @[email protected]

dimi: that was me telling you I posted. XD

Mika: Yaaaaaaaaaay! *shoots the hotmail down with a carrot gun*

Dimitri Bloodbane 08-23-2010 05:51 AM

@TK: You aren't the only greedy person, though. *guesses that means I'd live in lust and greed :ninja:

@Tetsu: *kills your hotmail*
That felt good!

--EDIT--

@Miki: I know. That's why I went to check it out while running from the murderous hockey puck. ;) Now I'm just trying to figure out if I'm going to be able to come up with another post for Roomies or not tonight.

Rusalka 08-23-2010 05:51 AM

Miki: That's what I'd first thought when I got into dolls, I thought I'd be paying professionals to do the work, but I wanted to try first and spent the money that it would have cost me to get it professionally done (outside the company faceups) to get most of the materials.. though not the best stuff. I'll migrate in time to the better materials and maybe further into acrylics.

Tori: all Asian Ball-Jointed dolls, and the vinyl kind as well it applies to nicely. I've read some that suggest to practice with dolls bought from a thrift shop so you don't risk ruining your at least $300 doll. I didn't... I practiced on girl. She got stained a bit inside the eyelids. xP but it's not noticeable. xP

Resin stains rather easily so all need to be sealed, so yes it's like a mask that can be washed away and redone.

Kat Dakuu 08-23-2010 05:51 AM

*throws a spork at tetsu's hotmail* me no can fix...

rampartte 08-23-2010 05:54 AM

Kale: I think the closest I'll get to making smexy dolls is making up smexy characters instead. XD

Dimi: Ha ha ha! Kylie's hard to figure out.

Dimitri Bloodbane 08-23-2010 05:56 AM

@Miki: So Max is noticing. :ninja: :P
