yeah, last I checked in my economics classes, the point of management is to make small things go far, be that people or goods. its never a good idea to be overpopulataed.

Kat- Apparently it is in the mind of the manager that made our work schedule. :sweat:
TK- Honestly, I have no idea. Usually, it's two guys scheduled from 7am-3pm, and two guys scheduled from 11am-7pm. And each of those days, we were fine. So I have no clue what possessed the manager to schedule so many techs the way he did. Makes no sense to me whatsoever. |

There's only been one guy asking for more hours, and he was pretty much told flat out to his face that that wasn't going to happen. They're actually wanting to prevent overtime. So I doubt that's the reason. We're not supposed to have any kind of sale this weekend that I've heard of, so that's not the reason. And, to be honest, business has been somewhat lax the past week, so it shouldn't be them expecting huge groups of customers or anything. There's no logical explanation that I can think of.

Even so, it's just insane to have almost twice as many techs as we have bays to work on vehicles in...

I know what you mean...we only have ONE screening room, ONE vitals machine, and four beds in the clinic for us to work on patients. So when we have eight medics standing around, it's ridiculous. |
Wow... hehe... we have one room here TK. Our little podunk back-woods aid station. One room with two trauma beds and... well... everything else is just skills ;) lol

See, that's what I mean! If we have so many techs, there's obviously going to be a few standing around twiddling their thumbs with nothing to do at pretty much any given point during the day. And you know that the managers are going to be saying things like "why don't you grab this ticket and get to work on it" or "why are you just standing around?" or "if you can't find something to do, I'll give you something to do"... :roll:

@Zephi: But our NCOIC is sooooooo hardcore about privacy. We can't really screen on the beds, because others can hear you through the curtains. *rolls eyes*
@Ultima: We hear that too. WHY ARE YOU STANDING AROUND? Want us to GIVE you something to do? If there are no patients, what are we supposed to do? There's only two computers and we can't screen at the front desk! |
