ToriKat: If you are talking about PTDY then as soon as you get there tell them that you want to take it. That's 10 free days right there to get your household in order. Though some units might deny you, it's always best to ask. Because... 10 days... no work... getting paid!

If you're talking about PCS leave, then the unit that you are with should be handling that. You take leave with them before you leave country, actually, your leave will start the day that you leave country. Then you have 30 days before you have to report to your next unit.

Did you find out where you are going yet??

The problem with my PCS leave is that I was putting in my levy brief to get my thirty days leave. But my orders beat the processing or SOMETHING, because I have less than two weeks to report into my next duty station. I DO NOT WANT TO SPEND THAT LITTLE TIME HOME. :/ Hometown recruiting after AIT was a joke of a break. So I figured I would report in early and then about a month or two later, I would put in leave to go home for the first time in two years. But my NCOIC said there was no way in hell I would be able to get even two weeks leave approved, because "I would be too new." So when would I be "allowed to"? >_> He didn't have an answer. :/ *frustrated with army crap*

PTDY can also depend on your rank. Some units will let a PFC live off post if there is simply no room in the barracks. I know at Ft. Campbell they are like that. Both of my PFC's were living off post cause the barracks were crammed full of people.

Aha... well I think that it really depends on your unit. It seems really odd that you orders cut your leave like that. I have never heard of that. Because 30 days is MANDATORY for PCS leave, especially OCONUS to CONUS leave. And vice versa. I guess your best bet would be to find out when you get there :( But because of the situation that they have put you in I would be willing to bet that they'd let you go. I mean, it's really really really odd to me that your leave got cut like that. You might be able to report that, I mean, even I got 30 days of leave and I took leave every 6 months of the 2 years that I was there <.< *shhhhhhh* Don't tell!

Ah, really? Well, guess I'll have to see how it is when I get there. xD What I just hate about living in the barracks is all the barracks checks and maintenance. I'll happily keep my room clean. It's the only place I stay in. But gosh darnit, I don't like cleaning after people, and I HATE having people dig around my room. :/

The guy I came to Korea with has the same issue. :/ One of the sergeants said it's possible to perhaps get my report date changed, but the NCOIC said there was no way. Or they may stuff me in another unit. Basically, he's not willing to talk to me/waste his time.

Who is your NCOIC? I'd go over him and talk to the 1SG cause you havent gone home at all in 2 years and they expect you to get 2 tickets to see your family? They know that soldiers can't afford that especially if you have to fly very far.

You shoulda told them that you wanted to go to Ft. Campbell XD Maybe I'll end up your way though. I'm going to take a lot of random last minute flights and see where I end up ^^

I think that the site isn't really that dead at that hour. I mean... I'm usualyl on and I am THE life of the party. I should get that tattooed somewhere on me... like on my foot where people won't ever see it. Oh man. Nah, I'd never really do that. Especially since my feet are super ticklish and I'd end up kicking someone in the face accidentally, of course, if they touched my feet. And to have the vibrations of a tattoo needle would drive me insane. I once dated a guy who had a foot fettish. Not like really THAT far out there compared to what I have seen some people do but he always wanted to like give me foot masseges and stuff and I think once he was sucking on my toes (don't ask) and I really nearly kicked my foot forward. He would have been missing a lot of teeth if I had. Man... hey, do you guys think that there is someone out there in the world who is absolutely perfect for you or do you think that you might just have to settle for close and deal with the things that you don't like? Basically, do you think that there are such things as soul mates? I think that, if I did have a soul mate, he or she (I guess it's possible) probably died at birth or something. *sigh* Ahaha... is that like a downer look at it? :P

I'm really in a kinda good mood. Celebrate christmas with my army family and took a nap afterwards, but before that I avoided a 2 star general, successfuly I might ad. Then we played spades and my team won all 3 times. Because we are awesome, I know. We even had two 10/2 hands. Muahahah... it was a lot of fun but I tend to get tired of playing things after a while I wanted to leave after the second time we won over 500 points but they were like "Where are you going? TO hang out and be bored in your room? Really!?" So I stayed. It wasn't bad though. :)

I ended up choosing to burrow myself in my room rather than joining the others for Christmas. It's too cold and.......I'm honestly in a bad mood over this whole leave thing. <_<
