I'm really actually kind of angry about it. I know it's just pixels and stuff. But the whole reasoning behind the auctions is to DEFLATE, not buy the items at or around the same price that they're going for in the exchange. That ruins the whole purpose.
I hope the new rules that Aeris is putting into effect deals with that same thing. It needs to be to the point that you can only bid 100 gold above the person below you, even in the last minutes of the auction. I suppose there's no crying over split milk and all that jazz, I'll just try my hand at getting the hairpin another way. It's just ludicrous that the bids climbed seven thousand gold in the last minute. The only reason I put nearly all my gold on the line was because I knew if that did happen (which it did), I wouldn't have stood a chance. And Tori, I think if you got your bid in before the topic was locked you might have won it. But also it does state in the rules that you have to get it in before the 5:00 mark, so technically 4:59 and 59 seconds would be the last second to bid. Sadly there is no next week for me. |

@Wendy: It is very upsetting that people would bid amounts that are close to what you should normally be buying the item for. However, for VDay items such as the pin, I can understand why it would still be reasonable for people to bid really high amounts. Pretty much no one wants to actually sell their pin to anyone.
I'm not sure if the new rule will include that, but I do know that Aeris will be changing the auction's duration to 8 days and making it so that on the last day no new bidders may enter the auction. Well good luck in getting a hairpin in another way. It was smart to put all your gold on the line in the end because it was becoming obvious that other people were going to do the same thing too. O there is a rule like that?! In last week's auction I am pretty sure that people who bidded right at 5:00 were still accepted. You just had to bid before the auction officially ended (meaning before the creator posted that it had ended) @Kitkat: Well I must admit that the bids for the King's crown were pretty high this week. I don't even know why, so hopefully next week it won't be like that again. I definitely don't need more competition for the Queen's Crown xDxD |

At least it did no harm, but it could give people the idea that it is good to pour in all your gold at the last minute. I really shouldn't have put in a bid. I don't want people to jump up in bids like that at the end -- it was stupid of me. Don't put all the gold on the line at the end, it defeats the purpose of the auctions. *Sigh* Well, if this girl accepts my offer for the pin, should I go for a Boa, Sash, or one of the Clover Hairpins? @Kitkat: Aww, I don't wish payback on anyonnne.
