Ditto. The DVD player in this laptop is already about finished, from our using it... besides, we have a TV with a DVD player, and a personal DVD player ... what do we need to be playing DVD's on the computer for?

Yup. Very rarely do I watch DVDs on my computer. The only time I do is if someone using the DVD player and it's something I don't want to watch, but I usually do something else if that's the case.
