xD
Yes, weird.
My cousin's like, about six feet, and he once commented that he'd like to play the flute. xD
"It's so beautiful~" [Yes, exact quote]
..and the best flutist in our grade is a dude, too.
Argh, during the last test, we tied, so I could've been first chair, but he was the principal player the last time, so he keeps the chair.. =.=
But this year, we entered.. *dun-dun-dun-duhhn~*.. high school symphonic band.

I had an asthma attack when I tried to play the flute.. the bad director, Mr. Fuller, was freaking out. I was auditioning for a flute learner/player in the sixth grade band. XD

Our high school was much too small for a symphony.
That's why it's a good thing that I played clarinet. If I had played violin after we moved, I wouldn't have been able to be in the band!
I went to a music camp one summer... the International Music Camp, right on the border of ND and Canada. When we played our concert at the end of the week, half of the players were in the US and the other half in Canada. Pretty cool.

Aww, schweet. : D
Yeah, I started viola in the fourth grade (outside of school), but when I went to middle school, it only had band, so I started flute.
Then I switched to my cousin's K-12 school, which has both band and strings.
I felt special since I was the only one it a couple of years to do both. >w>
..but not sweet, Rainy. D:
You had to audition?
We just picked the one we liked.
Yep, our beginning band director sucked that much. ._.

I started violin around fourth grade, I believe. I never had much talent for it and I wasn't motivated to practice, so I quit. I'm not very musically inclined.

I love the clarinet! All woodwinds make me go
The brass instruments take far more time and practice to be a good player, or a large amount of natural talent.. which makes me, a woodwind player, seem like crap- especially since I play an instrument said to be given to the 'incompetent players'. It's easy to play- but hard to play well.
I play well.
._.~
Says my past and present instructors.
Noodle;
We picked several instruments we liked, and he assigned us to the one best suited for us. He took the flute and said "No."
I wanted to play the flute so badly. Dx

Hey Rainy...you didn't really say what you played! Clarinet?
I wish I could play the oboe. I think it's one of the coolest sounding instruments.
I tried...but just like the flute, couldn't get much more than a squack out of it.
(How the heck do you spell squack?)

Pretty good.
Pretty quiet actually. It's one of those lazy Sunday afternoons, where there's absolutely *nothin* going on. Overcast, chilly, kinda blah.....
So! How's it going with you?

Bass clarinet...how very mellow sounding!
One time my band instructor was putting together a clarinet quintet for a music festival. He wanted me to play bass clarinet. Again (as usual), I couldn't get much of a sound out of it. Didn't have the wind for it. So he had another guy play the bass, and I took one of the regular clarinet parts.

I don't like geometry so far. :<
It's so boring~
I think the fact that the teacher teaches straight out of the book has a lot to do with it.
..and that it's mostly vocabularies, and my brain capacity has already reached its limit many, many years ago. :<
Oh, and I've already taken algebra II, so.. this seem....... less exciting? :I
Mmm.. I guess it could be likeable, with all the "fun with shapes, soon to come" and whatnot. =.=
Edit: OH, AND HAPPY NEW YEAR~ :D

Geometry was boring....higher math/algebra was much more fun. I really really liked trigonometry. The one I had trouble with was Differential Equations.

-has no idea what that means-
*sigh*
I already forgot about algebra II :/
How in the world will I pass pre-calculus next year?
Oh well, at least our teacher made us do a portfolio as part of the finals..
-would never do a portfolio by her slacker self because of laziness-

That's ok...I've already forgotten all my algebra, calculus, and diffequ. If you don't use it, you don't retain it. I've often thought about getting my books out sometime and seeing if I can pick it up again.
I couldn't do a derivative right now if my life depended on it.

Hello Jeannesha & Noodle~
Thats not good. I remember algebra... but thats because I've been studying a little of it recently, so that I don't fall behind in the forumulas in advanced Chemistry. Fortunately, theres only a little algebra involved.

Chemistry was a fun class. I remember doing the labs. *Everything* that I did went wrong. The TA wouldn't believe me that I was doing it right. He'd watch me closely, and be saying "yes, yes, that's right". Then at the end, it would crash and burn.
He couldn't figure it out. That's the only reason I passed - I was at least doing it right.

Hahaha, that really sucks Jeannesha that things just crash and burned for you. XD
I loved the labs in Chemistry too. I had a super smart partner with me and he'd help me calculate everything as long as I was the one lighting the matches and handling the equipment, becuz he was cared of getting burned or something by the chemicals... haha.
