Tulpa... thoughtform... imaginary friend become real. According to Wikipedia, a "thoughtform" may be understood as a 'psychospiritual' complex of energy or consciousness manifested either consciously or unconsciously, by an individual or a group.

In otherwords, let's a bunch of us get together and, through the power of combined concentration, make a physical change in our enviornment. Or at least make ourselves hallucinate a little bit.

Now, the word 'Tulpa' is a tibetan word for a being or object which is created by willpower and focus, and which eventually takes physical form. The most famous example of a Tulpa was created by french explorer Alexandra David-Neel, who conciously created a fat, jolly monk character. Unfortunately, she found that the more and more she thought about him, the less and less controlable he became. He became a sullen, angry character, taller and more muscular. She began to be afraid when her companions - some of whom had never heard of the fat monk - mentioned a stranger matching his description visiting their campfires. It was then that she decided to destroy him, fearing himto be a thread. According to her, he was very difficult to get rid of - it took six months, and left her emotionally drained.

With that in mind, let us remember that even if creating a Tulpa is possible, it is not necissarily a good idea to create human Tulpas.

With that in mind, I would like it if we were to form a group and concentrate on creating a very simple Tulpa: a top hat.

Why a top hat? Simple: top hats are cool. It is also much more difficult for a top hat to be threatening than a person. They are also something that you do not see very often any longer, if ever. If we are successful in creating this Tulpa, we'll know because we'll see a top hat somewhere in real life.

So how do we go about making this Top Hat Tulpa over the internet? Well, we will do so by describing the top hat in great detail, every day. We will not cut and paste our descriptions, but write it out, concentrating on the image of the tophat. You may picture it next to you, or in a store window, or floating in a void, but you must picture it carefully and control the image in your own mind.

Then you should chat with whoever else is here. There is only one rule: at the bottom of each post, you must write, "We will see a real top hat in the physical world soon." Type it out. And put it in bold.

Sounds easy, huh?

I should add that you don't have to believe it will actually work. You just have to do it. Then we'll see if it actually works or not... and hopefully, each of us will find a snazzy new top hat.

So. Who's with me?

We will see a real top hat in the physical world soon.

No, I don't, yet. Perhaps you could state it a different way?

It's not good to mess with the magical world if you don't have experience. :?

I do have experience, and it's a tophat. The worst thing that could happen is that it would be the wrong person's tophat, and since we are not taking the tophat, only looking for it and mentioning it when we do spot it, I cannot possibly imagine anything bad happening from this.

We naturally do magic all the time simply by concentrating on what we are concentrating on. You know "bad days," when something bad happens in the morning and you decide that it's just an "unlucky day?" We do that to ourselves. Our worrying makes us more likely either to notice the bad things or to make them come into being.

So why not concentrate on seeing a tophat?
