Well, it's a good thing I skipped Ikki-con(which happened the past weekend) >_>. Actually I had no thought to attend it as it's too far and at a weird time of year, plus it's still a new con. It was it's second time around.
I just read that there was apparently an attempted rape and assault on a couple girls, people being idiots and vandalising the hotel and it's courtyard, and half-assed security and hotel staff. Not that that's the only con for such things that has happened at, but still pretty sad and a turn off. Hopefully that's not what to expect at Anime Matsuri(my next con). It's also a new con(also going to be it's second year), but it's like literally right around the corner for me and I'd like to attend! |

My cosplays! I'm a UK cospalyer and can't make any of the london expos so I only get one big con a year, middle of the summer. I'm hoping to get together a really impressive costume for this year. I want to go as magical girl lyrical Nanoha. The props for that are going to be fun to make convention safe. |
I finally got to pinning fabric for my boyfriend's peacoat. I plan to be sewing by this weekend. If I set my mind to it, I can get it done by the end of next week.
Now I'm going to answer those questions from a few pages back I suppose. 1. What are some cosplays you've always wanted to do, but because the costume is super elaborate or would look better in a group, so you haven't done yet? -I would say Chidori from Persona 3 here, but since I plan on doing that costume and have the materials.. I guess it doesn't count. For group work, I'd love to do a Mai Otome school group but I don't think that will ever happen. 2. What are seom cosplays you've always wanted to do and just haven't gotten to yet, but plan to do? -I want to do all of Natsuki's outfits from Mai Hime and Otome. I've already done her school uniform, but I want to do her headmistress uniform, possibly her otome outfit AND her silly pink karaoke outfit from Mai Hime. Probably not her motorcycle outfit though... not unless I lose some weight. -Also, Gluko from Mon Colle Knights, but her hair scares me. |

why I should go/wouldn't go. I'm short of money, but my mom is willing to pay me the costs of the trip. my wig is still under construction, but we would fix it tomorrow. I would have to wake up really REALLY early on friday morning (more like a night!): 4am! we'd be leaving 5am. -.- I would want to cosplay though.. but I'm not feeling any enthusiasm about this con. especially with the early wake up and driving sooo long. |

We're going to rent a "German girl" costume XD. Her school does something called the Deutschfest. Basically sing songs in German and then they serve German food to everybody. We should might as well buy it, if you can. We've rented it so many times, as this thing happens every year and she had to wear it for some parts in the school play. I would just make one for her, but I got too many projects for myself D;

I...don't know XD;. I'm guessing since this town was founded by German settlers, they do it to celebrate their ancestors and the history? I mean, all the schools have German names(Klein, Wunderlich, Hilderbrandt to name a few) which named after all the ancestors.

I can honestly say I have never Cosplayed in my life. My friends have been after to me to cosplay when we go to cons etc... but I'm to self conscious for that even if others are dressed up. I'm not against it, and I think its cute to dress up to show your love for your favorite character. Makes me think of trekkies who dress up as hot Shatner though. <3

but glad to hear that you're gonna be attending that con Sagitar! even though the early part and traveling is gonna be challenging. Waking up early for cons or not even sleeping at all becuase not having a room at a con was everything that i've experienced xD so I feel your pain in the negative sides >w<;;; but it'll be worth it hopefully if you make it fun, especially if you're with friends. i know it made my con experience worth while with a good group ^^ *sigh* ah, and wonderful preperation for yaoicon 2008 is in progress; my roommates have been already thinking of cosplays to work on! *kinda awesome~* >w< and good to hear almost everyone is in preperation and in progress of their outfits! good luck to everyone! oh and to throw in this Q&A thing started many pages ago: 1. If I cosplayed right now it would be pretty easy. I just need a pair of white boxers! Heh. I suppose I could try and find some black and red fabric for the valentines day items too, or a nice fluffy black boa. I have no idea where to get a heart faced black or white fox/cat/doggy thing. Really cute whatever it is.
If people did cosplay for Mene, I don't know if I'd recognize them unless they told me. But it would be fun to see! |

While I was in the shower today I thought of another group type cosplay that would be cool to do, but that I'm not confident enough to pull off. Ashram and Pirotess from Record of Lodoss War. My boyfriend has expressed desire to cosplay Ashram who is totally badass, so it would be halfway there. Except that all the armoring is so complicated. Also Pirotess's outfit is kinda... not something I would normally wear about in public. But I think it would be cool regardless.. |
