@Usuri: Have you thought about doing Kikiyo from Inuyasha? It's a very graceful costume and it's definitely got a lot of reference material to work from (Rumiko Takahashi is incredibly prolific a manga-ka).

FINALLY got my wigs ordered yesterday, so hopefully I'll get them by this weekend (supposedly shipping from a certain site takes 2-3 days to arrive in California) and added a new costume to my effing repertoire of this year's budget which is dwindling down quickly. POTC dresses are going well, btw. I need to buy interfacing for mine so nobody sees through my pastel yellow that's not thick enough.

In June I plan on crossplaying as Riku from Kingdom Hearts 2. His outfit in the final battle. Right now I'm trying to make his keyblade. Making the outfits are hard enough then you add in props and gets so much harder.

Mmkay, back to cosplay stuff, I ended up working on some of my friend's costume because she actually came over to visit, so we had a good time. I got her to try on the wigs that she'd be using for this year's cosplays and laughed a lot : )

I was supposed to go on a convention that lasts three days, but we can't get a hotel, so I'll be only able to go there for one day.. :(

Aw that's usually the case for me if I have to go to a convention that's not in my city, but it's drive-able (1 1/2 hours). And yet I'm really sad 'coz I can't go this year.

Oh my! I think I found my hangout! ^^o Hi! I'm actually a pretty avid cosplayer. Does anyone actually sew their own? We can exchange tips.

I sew things on my own, but I do it by hand. I tried to use my mom's machine once on my own and just got confused. It takes a long time but I like it because I can be really precise with everything I do.

Wow! That is a TON of dedication. I'm bad at hand sewing. My palms get sweaty so I can't grip the needle properly and then the stitched get really weird and inconsistent.

I want a sewing machine soon. My mother wont let me barrow hers since I moved out. XD I can take it to her place and sew, but not barrow the machine. I just know if I take my stuff over to sew she'll get mad at me for the mess.
