@shadow - then just go for an afternoon to watch some of the things and then ask for your stuff back and if she really wants to watch the rest of them, she can come visit you.
i know what you're talking about, though. some friends have had my stuff for years. some still do and either are procrastinating (DANI, I WANT MY UGLY GODDESS BACK) or forgot that they have it and i forgot what they took, so they took it for their own and i'm never getting it back. ;_;

@cherry - teehee. :3
you know, you're right. top hats are silly. that might be why i like them. XD
omg. okay. cravat. yay wikipedia. i was like "that's an ascot." but wiki told me an ascot is a type of cravat knot.
and frankly, that is a very poorly made faux-ascot. don't copy it, please. the choker would be amazing by itself, but add on the polyester lace attached with E6000 and you just made me cry.
cravats are like large bow ties. just a strip of fabric knotted in a not-bow tie way.
also. the last picture on this page will make you happy. promise. it's almost like porn. except work-safe.
i'm going to say that this is what you really want. and it doesn't look too hard to make. (in theory. in practice, it will probably be a pain in the butt and you will want to throw it against the wall.)

ps.
OH MY GAWD. GUYS.
i just passed the REALLY FREAKING AWKWARD part in eclipse.
and i will say no more because it is MADE OF SPOILERS.
but. i could not stop laughing. still am actually. and in my mind i am going "CLEOLINDA WAS RIGHT"
i can't wait til may so i can actually read it. (lols, audiobook)

pps.
this girl reading the audiobook.
IT'S PORSHUH NOT PORSSHHH. GRRRR.
... i have a feeling that i would fit in nicely with the cullens' love of high-end sports cars.
i just can't drive fast because i am a worst-case scenario-ponderer.

ppps.
and that, my dear friends, is why i loveloveLOVE alice.
and this is why you really shouldn't leave me alone to my thoughts and hilarity at almost four in the morning. x_x

:3

Maybe you should shoot me, but I like the one I posted more. xD;
I don't like, have a steampunk outfit or anything, let alone anywhere to wear it too. I want something more subtle to incorporate into a day-to-day wardrobe. The big poofy jabots are cute, but they'd look super weird with a Tshirt. Too much volume, you know?

Ooooh, which awkward part? White text it. Is it the part that makes you hate Jake?

Egh, I hate when people say "porsh." IT'S PORSH-UH.

tirethminet 12-21-2008 06:23 PM

well, at least make it right and keep edges in their places. the one you showed me had underneath-parts showing.
and do not, NOT, use polyester lace. you will be scratching your neck out if you do. cotton should be your priority since it's pretty cheap, as far as lace goes.
and pleaseplease sew it. don't use E6000 unless you really have to to attach something that can't be attached otherwise.

TWILIGHT SPOILERS IF YOU HAVEN'T GOTTEN TO NEW MOON OR ECLIPSE YET.

the part when she's trying to ask edward to have sex with her before she changes and then when he shows her the ring. i was giggling like a loon.
also, what part made you hate jacob? (if before when victoria finally confronts them with riley) because i can think of a few times i wanted to kill him, but i still don't hate him. XDD

/spoiler

i say porsh all the time, but if i catch myself, i correct it. it's just one of those things that being brought up american has done to me. D:

Cherry Who? 12-21-2008 07:24 PM

I have noooo idea what E6000 is. xD; I'm a sewing newb.
And okay, I'll use cotton. ^^

ECLIPSE SPOILAH:

The part where he sort of manipulated Bella into kissing him made me really mad at him. But I still love him. He's my jakey-wakey.

Oh, That's your book. I was wondering how I had a hardcover book without it's sleeve. You should have reminded me or taken it with you. I'll get on that soon... Once I remember what its about.
PS - I got a gift card for B&N for my birthday but the person wrote $1,000,000,000 on the card. :sarcasm: So I have no clue how much is on it. I'll smack him if its only say $5. Any-whoo~ Yay for book shopping after the holidays!

Spring`Tyme Fresh 12-21-2008 09:22 PM

Hey guys, have any of you been on the website bookcrossing.com or found a book with it on?

I went into town today with my friend and I found this book on a table in a cafe, so me being my curious self, I picked it up and saw that it said 'take me home' on the front of it. Turns out that the website - as mentioned above - tracks and releases books to see where it goes. I think this is one of the coolest things I've ever come across xD

Also, has anyone read said book? It's called Crusader Gold by David Gibbins.

tirethminet 12-21-2008 10:31 PM

@cherry - E6000 is really strong glue for attaching anything to anything.
you can sew! i was terrified of sewing through my fingers when i first started really sewing a lot, but i was just like "whatever" and now i do the dangerous things they tell us not to do (like leading the fabric with your fingers all the way up the foot.) although dani has sewed her fingers, so it depends on the person? XD
omg, that made me want to hurt him, too.
but then again i wouldn't want to end up in a brace like bella. XDD

@dani - i pointed at it when i was at that shelf and went "can i have it back yet?" and you were all "i haven't read it yet." ;_;
go in and ask them to check the amount.

@springy - i have actually registered, but i haven't found any books or released them to the wild yet. ._.;;
and no, i haven't read it. :0

Oh well I forgot about the book all ready. Leave me alone I had finals. T_T

By the way I only sewed through my fingers when I first started sewing. That was when I was seven. Quilts are very thick and I used to do tam-gram designs which if you've ever tried to make a king size quilt with biggest tam-gram pieces only being about the size of a scotch tape roller, you know is extremely tough. When you do that the fabric likes to jump sideways. Though it didn't hurt that much. xD

I've heard of the site but I didn't know how it worked. That's really cool.

tirethminet 12-22-2008 01:27 AM

you've had it for almost a year. D:
... why were they making seven year old girls sew QUILTS? even i'm not comfortable with quilts yet (although i would love to.)

Dream_and_Die 12-22-2008 01:36 AM

Because Quilts are amazing and the girls scouts are totally a cover for child labor. Though I did get to hang out in a high school library. I used to read the text books during lunch break. I am such a nerd. xD

tirethminet 12-22-2008 01:44 AM

dani. i love you. XD
text books, sheesh.

Lilith W 12-22-2008 01:45 AM

I updated my list and now I need to go hunt in my room to see if I missed anything.

tirethminet 12-22-2008 01:51 AM

omg, gaiz.
i just checked because i was curious.
my harry potters and the sorcerer's stone is a first american ed. 8D
FIRST FIRST.
i love how we still get people asking for harry potter books. and we know this because we've hidden the entire bay next to cafe, so no one except the people in cafe know it's there. XD
now i want to go through all of my books and record years/editions/publishers/etc.

Hey don't knock reading text books. They are a lot of fun and you learn stuff. Which is a bonus if you're having fun.

tirethminet 12-22-2008 04:12 AM

hey, i'm all for reading text books.
i just don't have the attention span to do it. D:

Stormy1 12-22-2008 04:41 AM

Reading Text books are only fun when your not forced to sit in class with a audio recording of it blasting through out the classroom.

Cherry Who? 12-22-2008 04:55 AM

Mm, this reminds me. I ordered a massive GED prep study guide. It's massive. So I'll be counting that as a book. xD

Bishielurfer 12-22-2008 05:41 AM

I have returned~!
Cherry: XD I still need to give you that art. I drew it and then didn't get online forever because of school.
I love your current avvy, though. I think I'll draw that, too. XD
Hm...a massive GED guide being massive?
I'd have never guessed! o: *giving you a hard time*

Stormy1 12-22-2008 05:53 AM

O.o I've seen GED books and...I wish you luck in reading that. XD I'm guessing you are going for your GED?

shadowfoot 12-22-2008 05:57 AM

tirethminet 12-22-2008 06:33 AM

@stormy - text books are only fun when you read them for fun.
reading them for class is no fun at all since you have to drudge through with work and tests and reading as slow as possible because the rest of the class has a hard time reading aloud.

@cherry - ged... good luck on that. o____o;;

@skykitty - sooo... twilight saga and manga? is the meitantei conan manga as funny as the anime?

ps.
my torrent client just dinged and scared the hell out of me.
but p&p is done downloading, so i can watch it! =D
(keep in mind i do plan on buying it soon. i just couldn't wait to watch it any longer)
... but now i have to decide between listening to the last 25 minutes of eclipse or watching p&p.
crap. ;_;

Aislin 12-22-2008 06:50 AM

@ Leenie:: You should use a database, if you want to record all of that info. I know there are some free book collector's templates for Microsoft access.

I definitely understand the torrent-P&P connection. I did the same. Now I own Pride and Prejudice and Sense and Sensibility in the purchased way, however. :P

I'm back from a weekend of kid-watching! Now to fill my two-week-break with online courses and data crunching. :)
