funnily enough, i don't have microsoft access. i should figure out how to make a database online. lana will know. :3
i torrent most everything if i'm looking for it and i can't find it elsewhere right now.
like BOLLYWOOD MOVIES. although i really would like to buy some. especially the ones with shahrukh khan. <3333
OHGAWD, KIDS. ::cries::

ps.
i just finished eclipse.
EDWARD IS A CREEPER AND AN ASSHOLE.
there. i said it.
::goes to hug the spaceheater::

Bishielurfer 12-22-2008 07:26 AM

Tire: XD I totally agree with you. I hate Edward so much. I hated everyone at first, but in the last book, Bella and Jacob redeemed themselves, yet Edward never gets any better. He's totally annoying and void of any sort of personality. :P I hate him.

tirethminet 12-22-2008 08:29 AM

don't tell me anymore, i haven't read breaking dawn yet!!
and edward is just so flat, i wonder how so many people adore him.
i mean, jacob would definitely be my pick. both personality-wise and looks-wise.
for some odd reason, i love really tall or really short men. extremes, but not in the middle. and, well. i have a problem keeping warm at all times. so <3 jacob's body heat.

ps:
i am about 3.5 minutes into p&p and i was like "i recognize some of the bennett sisters..." you know, aside from the very obvious keira knightley.
lo and behold, mary and kitty also play side characters in doctor who.
and then lydia is the voice of english-dub lettie in howl's moving castle.
also, mr. bennett is much love. is he as amusing in the novel?

pps.
random thoughts:
- MR. DARCY CAN ARGUE WITH ME IN THE RAIN ANYTIME. <333333
- i want mr. bennett's library. that is a sexy library.
- why is mrs. bennett humming a christmas carol in not-christmastime? (i can't name which one, but it's a religious one)
- yum. pants. yumyumyummyyum. and waistcoats. :drool:
- mr. bingley has elijah wood-eyes.
- fog-darcy is HAWT.
- all of this silly romance has made me want to write.

ppps.

i have no words for this one. just delicious, hysterical laughter.

LAST PS.
i am very sorry for doing this to you people, but late at night, my thoughts go on unanswered tangents and it makes me very hyper.

KatMagenta 12-22-2008 05:30 PM

I haven't read Twilight or Pride and Prejudice :sweat:

I'm counting Sandman as books. The Dream Hunters has a little chibi-Neil in the back. If I could have counted the comics on my computer I'd have finished the challenge in a couple of weeks.

Some of my friends didn't know Howl's Moving Castle was a book. I used to love Diana Wynne Jones as a teeny KM.

People love Edward because Edward loves Bella unconditionally and is protective of her, and that's what everyone wants.
Jake loves Bella a ton and would protect her, but he does it in a more normal, realistic way so everyone just blows him off because it's nothing they haven't seen a hundred times before. Edward takes it to a new level and so it seems romantic and amazing. Ignore the fact that Edward is absolutely no fun. (Seriously, in four books he makes like, what, two jokes? And what does he do for fun? Play piano and make out with Bella. Woo. Exciting.)

Mr. Bennet is Donald Sutherland. Keifer Sutherland's father. FUN FACT FOR YOU.
I didn't notice until it was pointed out to me. Then I was like "WHOA DUDE YOU'RE RIGHT HE LOOKS LIKE HIM."

Bishielurfer 12-22-2008 05:58 PM

UGH, my internet pisses me off! My browser will randomly decide to go back a page while I'm typing, and I lose everything I've posted. ><**

Cherry: If I had a guy as protective of me as Edward is of Bella, I'd be like, "DUDE I'M NOT CHINA, LAY OFF!" and probably punch him in the face.
Then I'd probably break my hand.
Actually...didn't Bella do that to Jacob? XD;;;
Should've done it to Edward.
It seriously freaks me out when she starts hearing his voice. That's like...psychotic behavior. This girl needs some pills.

Tireth: Don't worry, I wasn't going to. ^^;;
Kira's role in P&P pissed me off. It was like the same exact role as Elizabeth Swan in PotC.
Same name, even! I was so annoyed. I mean, I've seen actors who tended to play the same sort of character because it was what they were good at, but playing essentially the same character in two different movies?! Seriously, now. That's ridiculous.
:D I love Dr. Who.
And I officially hate Lydia now. XD I hated the Howl's Moving Castle dub. She had this weird English accent that faded in and out...like the actress was either trying to cover up an accent or fake one. Either way, it was annoying.

tirethminet 12-22-2008 06:21 PM

@kat - gasp. you haven't read them?
and sandman love. they totally do count as books.
amano drew a chibi neil in the back of dream hunters? o:
i totally loved howl's moving castle and castle in the air and house of many ways, but that wasn't until my highschool years did i read those.
i think i had tried to read a diana wynne jones book in middle school about ghosts or some such silliness and it just made me jaded against all of her works until i met howl and sophie.

@cherry - but i want a GIANT FLUFFY PUPPY. >:3
ohmaigawd, you're right. but it might mean a little more if i've seen stuff they were in. XD

@bishie - but she didn't want to break her other hand, too.
she does need pills. truth.
i didn't get the feeling that they were the same character? D:!
yesssss someone else who loves dw. <3
most of my irl friends hate it or refuse to watch it and i'm like "NO ONE WANTS TO FANSQUEAL WITH ME?"
and she does slip out of accent because she's american. XD but i didn't notice so much.

Bishielurfer 12-22-2008 06:38 PM

xD How could you not notice it?! It was the first thing I noticed. I actually really hated that movie. :\ It was rushed and poorly done. Like, it was okay for an anime movie, but as a Hayao Miyazaki fan I was sorely dissapointed. He needs to stick to animating his own scripts.
Dr. Who is amazing. A bunch of my friends like it. I actually got my dude friend season 3 for Christmas, which was expensive.
I also love Dr. Horrible. Have you seen it?
owo Really? I thought they were almost exactly alike. Though, Swan's role allowed her a bit more of the independence that Bennet craved.

China. xDD

Well, the amount of protectiveness he had would have been unwarranted in a typical human relationship. But when you consider that there were a lot of vampires that wanted to eat her and some werewolves that (in his opinion) could lose control and accidentally hurt you, it wasn't that unwarranted.

Me toooooo~
Wait until you read Breaking Dawn. There's a puppy joke in there. xD I mean, not the usual "ur a dog" thing. Just... you'll see.

You haven't seen anything with Keifer Sutherland? O:

tirethminet 12-22-2008 07:26 PM

@bishie - i just... didn't? i'm not one to nitpick about technical problems when i get sucked into the plot. but also, i watch it only in japanese, unless i'm watching with my brother or mom.
that is an expensive gift. @[email protected]
i have gotten a total of two people into dw: my mom and my shakespeare teacher from last year.
but i have met another fan at a con who does a reallyreally good cosplay of ten. i saw him walking from behind and the coat went fwoosh and i was like "... tennant?" at the same time, i was being a very silly green donna with mallet. XD
omg dr. horrible. i love it, just because of the ridiculousness and nph. x3
i still don't feel that they're similar characters, but then again, i haven't watched the first potc movie in years.

@cherry - heeheeAPUPPYJOKE. :3
also i just JUST started breaking dawn (and now i need to go to work. :[ ) and i was like "... bella. you are made of ultimate fail."

Bishielurfer 12-22-2008 08:16 PM

Cherry: Still. I mean, even before the vampires showed up he was like that. "Don't get too close, I might eat you!" And Bella with all her, "LULZ, you see me as food but I don't care 'cause you sparkle. :D"
The sparkling made me angry! >< VAMPS SHOULDN'T SPARKLE. NOT COOL.
Tireth: XD My friend loves David Tennant. I'm more of a....9th doctor, I think it was? The guy with the leather jacket and no hair. :3 He rocks me.
Dr. Horrible makes me super happy inside. :D I like the music. But the ending made me so freaking sad!
It's coming out on DVD. owo I think I'm going to get it.

Korrye 12-23-2008 12:26 AM

Ack. I'm on book 47 and I have about five in progress either for school or for personal reading. I've updated my list (finally) way back on page 90. I'm still not in the listing on the main page. x___x

SO CLOSE though. I know that including magazine articles, textbook reading and bedtime stories for the kids I babysit I am way over 50 but my list are actual books most over 100 pages.

Aislin 12-23-2008 12:34 AM

@Cherry: Obviously, we are both too eminently dignified to be engaged in this whole "team" business....

But if you were on a team, you'd be in Team Jacob, right? :pirate::heart:

I'm actually very pro-Alice, when you get right down to it. Pro-Jacob too, the cheeky little berk, but mostly pro-Alice. This whole "Edward" business, I'll take no part in it.

@Leenie: Awww, no access? Couldn't help ya, then, but I'm sure that you can learn how to make a database online. They're really useful for any sort of collection.

Plus I'm a geek, so I generally like to mess around with organizational thingymers. :D

Meanwhile, I'm waiting for books to ship in. Can't help but enjoy Fearless. I expect to get Jennifer Government soon, as well as two books on combat and one giant book on Arthurian legend. I also have to read A Lesson Before Dying by Ernest Gaines, but my friends all claim it to be rather dull. For anyone who has read it: do I need a different book, or different friends?

The book on Arthurian legend actually does have some bearing on my other interests, just now. Anyone seen the show Merlin? If not, oh please do. The 2008 BBC version. It can be found online. :boogie:

Cherry Who? 12-23-2008 12:43 AM

Well, not Team Jacob in that I wanted Bella and Jacob to end up together. But Team Jacob in that I like him best. ^^

Aislin 12-23-2008 01:02 AM

Yep! I concur on both points. :)

Your av is a cornucopia of shiny fun, by the way. I love it!

Cherry Who? 12-23-2008 02:44 AM

Thank you! :D
I'm quite happy with it's obnoxious colorfulness.

tirethminet 12-23-2008 05:00 AM

@bishie - ohman, i had to put the book down the first time i read twilight because i was laughing so hard from edward SPARKLING.
i was like "you are FABULOUS, edward!"
after that, i could not help but think of edward in this every time he sparkles. XD
omg. how can you love nine and not know his name? (christopher eccleston, btw. he was the invisible man in heroes as well.)
mmmmdvd... p:

@korrye - if you don't get added in the next week or so, you should pm knerd and prod her. she may have just missed it.

@aislin - ... are we identical sisters or something? XD
omg seriously, i am totally in love with alice if she, you know, were real. jacob is a close second.
i would love to code a databasing program, but my skills in coding are limited to basic bbc and html.
i will possibly be looking for that merlin show once i get some space cleared on my hard drive. @[email protected];;

@cherry - your av always rapes my eyes. <3

ps.
i got p&p and atlas shrugged at work today.
i'll get on those once i finish:
breaking dawn, coraline, sabriel, and THE GRAVEYARD BOOK. THE FIRST BOOK ON MY LIST. T_____T
i procrastinate and get distracted way too much for my own good.

shadowfoot 12-23-2008 05:56 AM

You have to read the Graveyard Book because I would love to know if someone loves it as much as I do.
Also to everyone discussing Dr. Who there is a very large fan club around here and I know loads of people who watch it and love it.
As for Howl's Moving Castle: I loved it. I though it was completely in Miyazaki's style. Of course it was the last movie he will ever likely make since he is now officially retired (although he did come out of retirement to make Howl's in the first place). I love Diana Wynne-Jones. She has written everything from little kids books to adult books. I love her Crestomanci series, which I think keeps improving. There have been a few that were less interesting, but overall, her books are among my favorites.

tirethminet 12-23-2008 08:58 AM

actually i'm in the process of reading it. stopped after the chapter where bod becomes friends with ms lupescu. i just keep getting distracted from reading it. D:
and on doctor who, i just wish that i had someone, a friend, to watch it with. so we can add commentary and geek out about the episode.
i would ask my friends at work, but the closest ones i have always talk about going to the bar and hunting chicks in their spare time. one is also the same guy who told me of his drunken adventure walking six miles home through downtown in the wee hours of the morning. >_>;;
the people i attract, seriously.
(i love you, dani. 8DDD <3)

ps.
breaking dawn. alice. flowers. cake. garter.
SQUEE OF ALL SQUEES.
(this happens every single damn time i find a romantic scene in a book or a movie or whatever.)
(also irl events.)

pps.
so. i need to stop listening to breaking dawn. or else i will throw up. i can only take so much cutesyness until my throat decides to gag itself to force me to stop getting that really happy grinny squee-ing emotion. D:
i guess i'll listen to christmas songs to go to sleep and read more of the graveyard book at work tomorrow. 8D

I think I might have tried to read the same DWJ book... Time of the Ghost or something and it was awful.

I had a quick look on google to see if there were scans from The Dream Hunters but I couldn't find any so I took a picture with my phone so I'll edit this post with the links when I find the USB cable for it.

Yay Doctor Who. I got David Tennant for my 18th birthday. Well, I got a note from one of my friends saying she'd brought him but he didn't fit through my letterbox. XD

Edit:
Neil from his bio
Neil and Amano from the afterword (and Matthew) XD

tirethminet 12-23-2008 04:17 PM

something like that. XD
if i see the cover and notice what it is, i'll let you know. i just remember that i borrowed it from my middle school library and turned it in early because i hated it that much.
<3
ofcourse david didn't fit in the letterbox. he's much too tall.
and omgcute. i wanna poke it :3

Thanks? I think I was insulted XD

PS: My 'now reading' List just gained another book too. This time it wasn't my fault! I was cooking and I didn't want to get my books dirty so I went to the library and got one. xD

Haha...that sounds like something I would do Dream (I keep wanting to shorten your name to Dad, but that would be awkward...)

Dream - You say that and then get insulted. xDD
