I'm gonna make a new topic and I'll send you a PM with the link. But I'm gonna link all my top favorites there and ask people for theirs. ^.^
|
@jenova - yeeaah i'll pick them up again when i'm not reading so many other books at once. XD
i just remember them confusing me to insanity because i left time in between reading them. not to mention the hardcovers are just small enough to fit into the proper shelf, but too big to fit comfortably without getting stuck, so there it sits in my big book shelves. i believe i'll be getting the paperbacks or even the mass markets and the hardcovers will be going to paperbackswap or something like that. psst. there's six, the time paradox just came out fall of last year. @bishie - it's sad that the bar for channah keeps shrinking. @kat, that's cool. library is the best place to get books anyway. :3 ... YAY. sir terry pratchett. :] @feyona - you are peddling crack. XD there are a few webcomics i check on occasionally, but nothing very often. vampirates, paradis, xkcd, and i was kidnapped by lesbian pirates from outer space. @dani - oh. my. god. gues what kelly just asked me out of the blue? "let's check how many horses there are for sale in texas!" i died. XD |

I remember the first one, the Arctic Incident, the Eternity Code, The Opal Deception, and I keep forgetting the Lost Colony because I managed to miss it. O_o Are you speaking about the size of the Tamora Pierce books? Yeah, I only have all of the paperbacks with the exception of Lady Knight and Trickster's Choice, because I got those two the second they came out, so they were both hardcovers. I miss the old paperback covers, I don't like the new "Oh we're so cooool and artsy" photo-girl covers for all the books. Well, the new Alanna covers are okay. but the new Immortals and Protector of the Small covers are blaaah. |
i was still on the topic of artemis fowl. they're small enough that i want to put them in the regular bookshelves, but i'm worried the jackets will get ripped when i try to take them out. :[
ps. so guys. yesterday we were driving around town and we saw the local SWAT TEAM speed by, lights flashing. i was just like "... WHUT? what happened now?" |
Tireth: owo SWAT team? Really? That's awesome!
It makes me sad that it's going down, too. D': |
:boogie: :boogie: :boogie: Happy New Year from Germany!!! :boogie: :boogie: :boogie:
|
Well, I didn't reach my goal. xD I should have started the list from the time I posted it, not the beginning of the year. I didn't read much for the first quarter of the year.
Although, I DID reach my goal if you count all the times I reread the Twilight books. xD |
XD I lost track of a lot of the books I read...I'm thinking of starting over for the New Year with a whole new list, because I'm positive I missed a bunch of books and just can't remember.
|
Wow, this is a neat idea...Haha, though I'm posting at like PG 2oosomething!
I'd like to do this! OwO But I'll just keep track on my computer, so it's less of a hassle to come back here and keep finding it to edit! Though my aim would be: 100! : D Gonna start when 2009 comes! [less than 7 hours till then!] i lovee reading books. ~ |
I'm totally going to set up a list of some form later on today. ^^
*ish 2.10 am and I dun feel like doing it now* xDD I'm going hunting in my cupboards later to find some old school books I've probably got lying around. :) |
Since the new year is merely hours away where I live, I'm going to begin as soon as the clock reaches 12:01 and am going to go with the page-counting method, as I tend to read longer books. I'm getting excited, this is a New Years' resolution I can actually keep! (As opposed to saying I'll exercise five times a week or eat the daily recommended amount of fruits and vegetables...we all know that those kinds of resolutions are hard to keep.) But...here are my lists!
Currently Reading: Women Who Run with the Wolves by Clarissa Pinkola Estés, Ph.D. Finished Books and Page Count: Black Heart, Ivory Bones edited by Ellen Datlow & Terri Windling: 369 pages. Black Thorn, White Rose edited by Ellen Datlow & Terri Windling: 386 pages. Ruby Slippers, Golden Tears edited by Ellen Datlow & Terri Windling: 416 pages. Pages Finished: 1,171 of 30,000 (28,829 pages to go) I am the Devourer of the Written Word! RAAWR! How's that for confidence? :P |
Okay. My challenge has expired. I'm going to say that I met it. If I had read new books rather than rereading Twilight, I would have.

Woooo! :D This is my first official post on my new laptop! *dances*
Wooo, new lists! :D |
@bishie - not awesome, bad! bad! the last time we saw them, it was because a bank near us got robbed.
& the channah bar is very low now. despite my best efforts to donate yarn, just too many people are being GREEDY. @[email protected];; @cherry - the shame! DDDD:! good luck on actually succeeding in this list. :3 @koari - you can post yours and knerd is usually good about putting the link to your list on the front page. and most of us keep a link to our list in our signatures anyway, so you can try that as well. :] to all those starting anew and restarting your lists, goodluck! to everyone, happy new year! ps. i just watched the movie brazil with my mom, stepdad, and a friend. and it was ridiculous. now i cannot get the song "brazil" out of my head and our reaction to the end was very much "wtf, man." |
@Jenova: Yay! Thanks for the list!
|
Tireth: XD They put my school in lockdown because a bank got robbed...It was pretty funny because no one really did anything different.
|
o.o Why would they lock down you school if a BANK got robbed? Were you close or did they think someone there did it?
|
We were really close to the bank and the police were afraid the guy might run onto campus. They do it whenever anything even remotely close to us gets robbed or broken into.
|
Aah... yeah... this is why I'm happy I live in a small enough town with not too many crimes. We never had to worry about shyte like that at our school.
|
XD Actually, my town is a small town. That's probably the main reason we never take any of it seriously. We're like, "Oh, like anything would happen here!" Though...it's been getting worse the past two years. :\
|
wow, bishie. wow. lockdown is supposed to entail hiding in the closets and the corners with the lights off without talking or making loud noises.
|
Yeeaaaaah...supposed to. We usually do all that during drills, but during last year's my psych teacher just closed the curtains and we kept watching our movie.
|
nice. XD
|
XD It was a good movie!
|
Which movie was it?
