Torchwood is really good. It has more adult themes and isn't really for children. If you watch it...I suggest watching the ending of Torchwood season 2 before the ending of Doctor Who season 4 because they cross over. And Doctor Who season 4 may ruin the ending of Torchwood season 2 for you. XD

Ianto is my favorite character...

I read the first...I think two chapters of it last week or something when my brother was at a meeting thing, and I really liked it. xD
But I'm reading this other novel first because I also started reading it while he was in one of those meetings and I'm farther into it, and its kinda really interesting...

You did! :D In my opinion at least. For me, his books go Jennifer Government > Syrup > Company. But Company really is a good book, too.
Understandable. Once you get a bit farther into it (once you finish your current book), it'll hook you in the same way. I couldn't set it down! xD

[size=1]@cherry - i already have discovered some things i forgot about. like my trolls and my "poly pockets" (yes, i spelled it that way on a box when i was small. XD)
but i really do need to go through it all because i need to decide what to keep.
a lot of things, though, are going to be kept, probably because of sentimental reasons, but mostly because i'm a pack rat. xp
but, you know, my mom has to share it with my stepdad, so. (but she takes up most of the space. x3)
i understand about the teeny closet. i had one at our old house that was about 2-3 ft deep and maybe 8 ft wide.
but we did have an external public storage unit for everything that couldn't fit in the house. @[email protected]
everything fits now, though. :3

I'm the same way. I have problems getting rid of anything. Especially considering how much I change my mind about things. There are things I've gotten rid of that I wish I'd kept... Like my legos. I want a lego necklace.

We have a storage unit... It's the attic. xD; IT's such a mess up there. I try to clean up and sort things, but there's just so much junk that I just don't know what to DO with. I don't want to get rid of it, but don't want to keep it... I just wish all that difficult stuff would just disappear so I don't have to deal with it. ><

tirethminet 02-09-2009 02:38 AM

MY BABY. IT'S BACK.
they replaced the logic board and the top case (which needed to be replaced anyway)
but IT STILL DIDN'T FIX IT.
so i went back and they reloaded the os. |D

@dani - feeed the leeeenniiiiiieeeeee~~~
dude that is completely opposite of the guy at the yaoi booth who SANG SONGS about yaoi and yuri. i wanted to hug him. XD
duuuuude, manga makes me keep my book quota and i read such large books anyway, it doesn't hurt the page quota too much.

@kat - it only says ianto four times? DDDDD:
you need to say if you had a fiver, not a penny. |D

@cherry - to get to the attic... wait, what attic? WE HAVE A GARAGE. IT'S THE SAME THING. (our cars won't fit in the garage. xp)
actually, i think we do have an attic, but the access is either from my closet or my brother's closet. or both. :x
most of the things i keep that aren't actually useful or fun anymore are stuff i want to use for crafts, but i have no patience to think of what to make them into. 8D

@doctor who people - AHAHAHA I SAW A TEN AT THE ANIME CONVENTION.
on friday and saturday he wore his regular brown/blue pinstripe suit with the COAT OF DOOM and red converses.
but today, he wore the tux and black converses. i took pictures. :3
and i ALMOST attacked him with my doctor who keychain, but i couldn't choose with of the six noises to do and then i didn't want to freak him out. XDDD

ps.
DANI. and uhm. anyone else who likes jrock?
i saw a jrock cover band at the con today and they were fuuuuuuun.
AND THE LEAD GUITARIST/SINGER HAS A HELLO KITTY PICK GUARD.
and, of course, kiwi, (bassist) was ADORABLE. 8DDD
i hugged them both. multiple times. and got their autographs. because they were awesome.
and picked them up. BECAUSE THEY ARE SKINNY BOYS. and i'm buff like that |DDD
the other band members were not as exciting, so i didn't hug them. but i did get the other guitarist's autograph.
butbutbutbut. SQUUUUEEEEEEEE.
(knuckle sandwich.)

@Kitami: My library was just rebuilt because it had over twice as many books in storage as it did on the shelves (because there just wasn't enough room). Now it's bigger but not all the books are out of storage yet or if they are, they just aren't on the shelves yet.

I went book shopping today! Really my friend and I had to escape our houses for a few hours and the book store was the only thing open around here at ten pm. xD
I got:
Bogus to Bubbly (because i didn't own it yet.) by Scott Westerfeld
Genttle Cage by You Shiizaki
Devil's Bride: Volume 1 by Se-Young Kim (which is manhwa, even though it says manga.)
Male Desire: The homoerotic in America Art by Jonathon Weinberg (AHAHAHA. That book needed to be wrapped in plastic.)
and
Laurell K. Hamilton's Anita Blake Vampire Hunter: Guilty Pleasures Volume One and Two (Blame my firned for this one, I haven't been able to stop reading it.)

Mm, they probably want to build a new library (or add on) here and probably just can't finance it or something. They're sticking in new shelves all over the place and they have a snazzy little "teen center" reading corner now for teens. I know, because my brother "works" there now so obviously he had to show it off. xD They just had a couple shelves and two beanbag chairs when I was into the teen books.
And like over half of the books and manga that me and my brother have looked up in the past two days is on order. When all that crap comes in, I don't know where they're going to stick it. XD

Guilty Pleasures, the graphic novel version? I just got the 1st volume of that from the library today. XD
I about jumped up and down when I came across it in the new books section (and for some reason its in non-fiction) I've been wanting it for a long time.

I forgot about Company until just now, but they don't have that either. They just have Jennifer Government in book form, and Syrup on book-CD.
Well, I finished Luna, so I'm going to read it now. o:
-sigh- Well, I think I got Luna on my brother's summer reading list by having him read the summary, so I tried it with Jennifer Government too, but it didn't work. :c

Yup. I went to the book store and we were really bored so of corse we huddled around the comics and manga. I was skimming the manga 'novels' when my friend came running around the corner asking what the name of those vampire hunter novels I was obsessed with were. xD
I think I read both volumes like 6 times all the way through. I can't wait till the First Death come out in non hardcover. Also I'm going to wait till both volumes of Laughing Corpse are compiled before I get them. :sigh:

Cherry Who? 02-09-2009 04:09 AM

Kita - Aww. :c Maybe if you request it they'll find a copy? I dunno, I don't go to libraries, I don't know if they do that or not. xD

Aww. D: Well, the synopsis for it doesn't sound incredibly interesting. Once you read it you may be able to get him hooked on it. :D

I keep having the desire to simply reread books...

FeyonaSaibre 02-09-2009 02:08 PM

Then you should!

Dream_and_Die 02-09-2009 02:51 PM

Definitely, rereading is the best part about books.
Is it bad though that my mind totally made a book a movie in my mind. I just finished a book and it flowed so well in my mind that I keep wanting to turn it on an watch it again, then I realize it's a book... I can't watch it. xD

FeyonaSaibre 02-09-2009 02:59 PM

I've got so many books backed-up that I need to read the first time around that I can never get around to reading my favorites. I honestly can't wait until I'm older and my kids are all grown and I'm retired and I can read all day. LOL.

Cherry Who? 02-09-2009 05:31 PM

Yeah, my to-read pile is about a mile high.
Not to mention the book I'm currently reading is pretty huge and it's the first of a series. So once I finish this, I'll be hooked on a bunch of other big books. xD;
Luckily, a lot of the other books in my pile are smaller.

FeyonaSaibre 02-09-2009 06:27 PM

My "To Read LIST" is only small because I don't have all of them that I'm actually waiting patiently to be finished with what I'm currently reading on there. I have an entire shelf dedicated to what I haven't read yet on my bookcase and there's several books that won't FIT on that shelf that are in that section of my collection too. >.>;;

KatMagenta 02-09-2009 07:09 PM

Fellow Ianto fans: Ianto is made of win and coffee. I finally got around to watching the trailer for Children of Earth today, aieee.

Tireth: I would have dived on Doctor Who person and squeed for a while. I admit your restraint.

In the first book Ianto drives the SUV and makes coffee and the in second book he drives the SUV, makes coffee and tells Owen something has happened. I was going to 'buy' one of the Torchwood audiobooks but I'm searching out the Lost Souls radio play instead. CERN + Torchwood = fun fun fun!

+ Best disclaimer ever. I started M is for Magic last night. ^^

FeyonaSaibre 02-09-2009 07:19 PM

What is Torchwood about anyway? I've heard about it a lot but I don't know what it is...

Dream_and_Die 02-09-2009 07:22 PM

@Feyona: I have two shelves for my 'To Read' books and those are just the ones I own. My list is forever long because I know to many people who read.

...
I just got a Lamp Chop song stuck in my head. @[email protected]
"This is the song that never ends, it just goes on and on my friend."
I can see the lady chasing the puppet around a tree. Oh boy.

Torchwood capture/stop aliens and technology that fall through space and time through 'the Rift' which is in Cardiff bay. As you do! XD

Feyona: I don't really think there's anything else I can add. It gets a little over the top sometimes in trying to be dark and sexy and whatnot, but it's fun and well written (usually) and Welsh. Very Welsh. =P

I've started buying too many books again. My Mike Carey book should be in the post *pokes PlayTrade seller* and I haven't even taken my Charlie Brooker book out of the carrier bag. -_-

FeyonaSaibre 02-09-2009 07:56 PM

I've actually never seen Dr. Who either.... but everyone keeps telling me how good it is. *sighs* I should really get to where I can see the stuff I've been meaning too. But movies are like books to me... I just never have enough time.

KatMagenta 02-09-2009 08:05 PM

The new Doctor Who is fun, you can probably jump straight into it at any point without too much confusion. I follow the series when it's on because it's one of the few things I can watch with both my parents without us all going mad.

The repeats of the classic series used to be on when I was little so I can remember K-9 and Daleks being twarted by stairs. XD

FeyonaSaibre 02-09-2009 08:25 PM

I'll have to look into it. ^.^

tirethminet 02-09-2009 09:17 PM

@kat - children of earth. SQUEEEEE.
aww ianto is all bloody. D:
you know, i would have hugged him, but i was cosplaying tsunade from naruto and that would have been all kinds of freaky crossovers. XD
... that. that is sad. IANTO NEEDS TO BE CENTRAL CHARACTER.
also, that is a good disclaimer. we love gaiman. :3

ahaha stairs.
oh, the good old days. xp

@feyona - torchwood is... uhhhmmm.
a combination of x-files and contemporary drama?
but for the UK.

@dani - lamp chop hasn't been on the air for YEARS. what happened? XD

ps.
ahaha when i use the british keyboard setting for my computer and shift the 3 key, it puts £ instead of #.
BUT I JUST REALISED THEY'RE BOTH POUNDS. 8DDDD

KatMagenta 02-09-2009 09:28 PM

Tireth: I have no idea who Tsunade is, but I agree with your sentiment. Don't encourage them!

When the rest of the team are out of the hub, Ianto flies off on Myfanwy and they have fantastic adventures. Fact.

+ Yip, £ is on 3 on my British keyboard. # gets to share a key with ~ (tilde makes me think of Tom Hilde, which makes me happy).

Dream_and_Die 02-09-2009 09:59 PM

@leenie: I said forever and POOF the song appeared in my mind. Which makes no sense. At all.
