@Knerd: That sounds amazing... :jots it down on her to read list:
|
just so I don't loose this I'm going to post and If I knew how to subscribe I would so a post until I get home to be able to book mark it currently reading: Treasure Island |
Knerd- That sounds so out there and cool I can't possibly not read it!
|
I'm reading a new book about the CIA... its ok.
|
@massage - no, i really don't have any excuse.
i literally have nothing to do all day, but instead of reading, i watch tv. mostly so i can play on the computer at the same time. >_>;; if i could count all the text i read online and all the subtitles i read for foreign movies and such, i would be well into the challenge, but it's not like i can count pages of books for online text, especially when it's on different pages. @dani - oh right. pixies. it was something magickal and tiny, alright? p: @iltu - omg, you poor dear. try and sneak some more in your suitcase or something? i bring at least 5-6 books every time we go to my grandparent's house because apparently the entire town hasn't heard of wireless internet so i can leech it. @knerd - i kinda want to see the twilight dvd, but only for lulz. :3 |

gimme a pixie and i'll say it to their face.
then i'll keep them in in a box and hug them and cuddle them and LOVE THEM FOREVER. +_+;; so remember that pride & prejudice kick i was on? well today i was marking where to put my wall-shelves because i need some space for my dvds and cds. and i was using my p&p dvd to estimate how much space i needed since that's the tallest dvd i have. anywho, since it doesn't actually latch shut or anything, some stuff fell out, which was the soundtrack. GUESS WHAT I'M LISTENING TO RIGHT NOW??? teeheehee. |
I finally finished the Worthing Saga.... FINALLY. It felt pretty interminable. But I think most of that had to do with the fact that I didn't really want it to end. It was strange but it was good and I found myself only putting it down because life got in the way.... a LOT.
|
Man, I haven't picked up my book in like, a week.
It's good, don't get me wrong, I just always forget to read... And it's so long that it's a little intimidating. Maybe I'll go read now... |
Well I added some more books to my list. Three mangas and two novels, The Eyes of the Dragon by Stephen King and Princess at Sea by Dawn Cook.
There is no way I'm going to reach my goal in the next 20 days. If I counted manga as a full book I would have read 240 books and I might get to 250 but I feel bad even counting them as half. Oh well. Quote:
I liked the characters but my problem was that it was science fiction. I love fiction. I love fantasy. And I would have loved this book but as soon as it started talking about machines, cyper space, and everything else it completely lost me. I had to read several parts over and over because I couldn't figure out what "hardwear" they were talking about. |
Wow, Lilith, you read a lot. O_O
|
@tirethminet: Ohh. Haha. I see. I kinda get caught up with the internet. If my computer weren't as laggy as it is I probably wouldn't get half the reading I do done. xD
@FeyonaSaibre: Hehe, you used one of my favorite words. Interminable. ^^ Stephen King books tend to be that way for me sometimes. Like Black House. Took me almost a month-ish. |
@Cherry- I do. And the sad thing is this is a slow year for me. Just a few years ago I would read a book a day.
|
Lilith: I had a similar problem with Glasshouse. As soon as I thought I the vaguest idea of A-gates and T-gates they would spring more random techno-babble on me. Eventually I just started thinking, shut up Charlie, on with the story!
Even 100 books would be a heck of an achievement for me. O_o |

@Kat- I'm usually ok with things like that, but not if it actually exists in this world. When they start talking about labtops or valves and then I get destracted trying to place it in my head and then they twist it to were it is nothing like the one we have and I'm just confused.
|
@feyona - yaaaaay another book! clapclapclap. :]
@cherry - now i'm reading the rest of the edward lj things. Quote:
a book a day. o_____o; @massage - i keep thinking it's a bad thing that we have a cable internet connection. D: |
@tire- now it is more like a book a week
if even that |
I spent most of Glasshouse giggling at the fact the terrible virus was called Curious Yellow. Not Intrigued Mauve or Slightly Puzzled Chartreuse (or a awful sci-fi name like MindBreakerTechPatch), but Curious Yellow. Hee. ^^
Edit: I do realise it's named after the computer worm, but it's still silly. |
I love to find cute names like that that mean completely evil things. So much fun.

Do you own most of your books or use a library? Uh, okay, that was a stupid question, library, right? xD |
:Throws hands up in victory:
I finished Buried Fire by Jonathan Stroud! I started that book before I started any of the books by Laurell K. Hamilton, which puts that back in January. It read very slow, in my opinion at least. I finished Tantalize as well, it wasn't spectacular and I only started that yesterday. |
So I just recently started the Harry Potter series and I wanted to know what those who have already read it think. I'm not talking about people that have watched the movies... I want people that have read the books.
|
I need to finish Harry Potter... I never did. I read the fifth one the week it came out, but because I read it so quickly, I can barely remember most of what happened. Then I got the sixth, read one chapter, was completely lost, and then never reread the fifth.
I don't need to reread the first four, though. Movies and general internet chatter have helped me remember all the important stuff from those. *sigh* Now I have more things to add to my immense To Read list... xD |
Awwww... I'm sorry Cherry... but of the first 4 did you like them and were the movies true enough to the books to not make me angsty?
