@Aislin: I think I'll read that now. It seems hilarious.
My grandfather loves animals so the fact that I love wolves means he buy's me anything he see's with wolves on it. Recently I randomly got a fleece with wolf scape on the back.
I think that's why The Sight is one of my top books... xD

@Iltu: I need to read Fell soon... I want to own it but... HARDCOVER!!
I should show you the report I did on it two years ago, I had to make a newspaper with different article about the book, I made a master version and then a "creative" one. The creative one my dog and I had a tug-o-war game over, track mud on it, and even got grass stains on it. XD

Dream- I got Fell like, as soon as it came out. DX And was dissapointed. It was no where NEARLY as good as The Sight, and a few aspects of the book really pissed me off. :gonk:
That sounds like a neat report! Sorry aboout what happened with the dog, though. XD That stinks.
I just did a report on it earlier this year. I had to make a CD based on the book. It was fun. I did a good job. :'D

OH no! I meant that was what I did for the creative part. XD
Seeing as the book was about wolves... What would any dog do with a newspaper but play with it. XD
Like I said I had a master copy for my teacher, but it was priceless to hand these ( 1 2 3 ) in and get to say "My dog ate my homework." XD

My college had a library book sale yesterday, so I browsed for a while and managed to find some pretty amazing treasures. For just a buck, I cam home with:
The Manticore by Robertson Davies
The King Must Die by Mary Renault
& my personal favorite and new treasure
Barrabbas by Par Lagerkvist
Yay!

googod, people. sometimes, no posts for a few days, sometimes, a few pages in a day.
WAYBACK. page 366/367. (i failed a little)
jersey - of course i would recognise john and abigail.
funny how i know the second president a bit better than the first, but according to my dad, we're related to the adams somehow. :/
dani - you can only slap people with fish on april fool's. p:
iltu - oh a cruise! yummy. :3
and yes. yes i do travel a lot. last year i went on... four round plane trips? and one with two legs; new jersey to michigan, then to texas, because that was when we were moving.
and, well. it sounded like southwest. continental, delta, and american aren't the type to do something like that, but southwest is all very chill and laid back. XD
i see mention of HOWL'S MOVING CASTLE.
teehee. much love.
once, in middle school i read one of jones' books about a ghost or something and i hated it so i didn't read any of her books again, but then i saw the howl movie a few years back and that made me want to read the books. XD
(and i loved them both in their own right.)
AISLIN, I MISSED YOU. ;_;
SCIESZKA. 8D
i grew up on him.
er. his books.
SOOO
i am about 3/4 done with fly by night.
i got distracted by the MULTITUDE OF EASTER EVENTS this weekend, so i couldn't finish it in time to give it back to the library.
but thank god they have online renewal. 8D
but i also got phoenix wright: ace attorney.
and am failing horribly at it. XD
and.
i'm squeeing over the new wolverine movie and the new star trek movie.
cause i'm a nerd like that. x3

Started A Thousand Splendid Suns by Khaled Hosseini. He wrote Kite Runner which I was in love with, but I think this book is winning me over most so. Its a amazing and I'm only in the first half of it. : )
@Tireth:: haha your not the only nerd for the new wolverine movie and the new star trek movie. Well I'm actually only nerd for Wolverine. I'm being dragged to the Star Trek movie cause my friends hate me, but I love Chris Pine and the guy from Heroes is in it so I may like it. : D

There's a new wolverine movie coming out soon? Is Hugh Jackman playing wolverine again?
...oh! And are booklists still being added to the front page of the thread? *curious*

Ahh, I saw a book in Waterstones today about football and modern Russia and the revised edition has Pavlyuchenko and Arshavin on the cover so I went 'squee!' at it in front of my poor confused male friend.
Tireth: Time of the Ghost? I have that book but I don't even know if I've ever finished it. I hated it too.

@Iltu: Oooooh! I just checked my library, and they not only have Silverlock, but also the Silverlock Companion! I know it sounds dorky, because I've read the book a couple of times over... but the latter book lists and explains every allusion, happenstance of which makes me happy to an insane degree. :boogie::eager:
Hope you can find a copy of both books!
The book of essays I was reading is actually in the SmartPop series, which I've just discovered... it's amazing... they have essays by authors about a ton of popculture subjects, including Harry Potter, His Dark Materials, and even Buffy the Vampire Slayer. I'm having difficulty not compulsively buying them all... sci-fi authors! Who like what I like! Writing about what I like!
@Shadow: Oooooh... would you be comfortable sharing your writing? :)
@Leenie: :glomp::heart: I missed you too!
YES! Have you seen the Sciezka book containing the little alien boy with the overactive imagination? I think it's called Baloney-- I'd never seen it before. I didn't even realize he was the author of The Math Curse until recently... the man is brilliant!
 Your phrasing wins.
I grew up on Rowling... Sciezka... Tolkein... pretty much a doggy-pile, really.
@Knerd: Methinks I love your school. And the title of your new favorite book, as well! Very incendiary.
Are you very much a fan of mythology?
@Stormy: Oh, I loved A Thousand Splendid Suns, even more so than The Kite Runner. It's a rough book to read through, though-- you get involved emotionally. Let me know how you feel at the end of it! That's one novel I'd love to discuss...
@Cherry: Hey Cherry! I convinced another person to read Syrup, and a fifth is on the way... did you ever read Company? I haven't started it yet, but I picked it up through PBS.
Sorry you haven't had much time for books lately! Pretty busy, or just otherwise distracted?
Your av is magical.
@Dream: Aaaaaaaaah! Now I want The Sight too! I just looked it up on paperbackswap... and the description is wonderful... and they have the book... but I don't have credits!....
I've got it on my reminder list, with a tag. I'll see if I can't find it at recycle books.
Any other good wolf-books on your list?
Your mangled school report (from the photos) is genius, by the way. XD
And, on a note that I swear is related, has anyone on here ever seen The 10th Kingdom? I fangirl Wolfie.
EDIT: Hey Kat! How are you?

@Iltu and Aislin: Thanks! xD Once my teacher found out I had a master copy for him to read he thought it was great as well.
@Knerd: Why doesn't my college ever sell their books? T_T
@Cherry: Your avatar... It is love. It makes the OCD part of my brain so happy (the same part that makes me eat skittles in rainbow order). XD
Though the pink on the bottom throws me off, but still it's awesome!
@leenie: I can slap you with a fish any day in which I happen to have a slapping fish in my hand. Yup, you are thinking of Time of the Ghost, and yes it was pretty bad.
@Blazestorm: Yup Hugh Jackman, and he gets kindasortanaked but I don't think you see anything important. ^_^
@Aislin: Good wolf books on my list? Not really. XD
In general, yeah. Well The Sight has a sequel called Fell which isn't as good as the first, or so I'm told.
I actually haven't read many wolf books, lots of werewolves but regular wolves no. Though Call of the Wild and White Fang by Jack London are classics.
If you don't mind reading a more kiddy book, Jean Craighead George has a wolf trilogy. Julie of the Wolves, Julie, and Julie's Wolf Pack. The first is about a girl (Eskimo I think) runs away into the wilderness of Alaska and finds a wolf pack (then stuff happens). The second focuses on the girl and the third book (my favorite of the three) focuses on the wolf pack, I think from their point of view. They are one continuous story though. Jean Craighead George does that a lot, write the first book about a human and animal, the second about the human, and then the third about the animal. xD

Leenie- Holy cow, that's lots of moving! Did you enjoy seeing all those palces, though?
Southwest is very friendly and fun, yes. And they have really good drinks!
Stormy- Oooooooooh, A Thousand Splendid Suns is fabulous! I loved Miriam and Laila. They were both such great characters.

If you like animals in general Jean Craighead George is perfect, I liked the My Side of the Mountain trilogy as well, it was a bout a boy and a Falcon.
Most of her books are about animals... actually I think they all are about people and their special connection to animals, if not then about 95% are.
Uhm, I must freak out and add that in 2001 (Julie of the Wolves came out in 1972 and Julie's Wolf Pack came out in 1997) She added more to the series!!!!!!
Nutik, the Wolf Pup and Nutik & Amaroq Play Ball. I don't even care if those are little little kids books, those I will go get. XD
Ahh she added two more to the Mountain series! :Freak out moment:
