@Jersey: Nope you're right, it's that one. XD
That would be me. Though I would strain my eyes till the explode. ^_^

@Yuri: It's the second book in her Dark Swan series. I prefer her other books to the Vampire Academy only because they're not young adult. Dark Swan series is Paranormal Romance, and her third series is Georgina Kincaid Series. That one is about a succubus who accident;y falls in love, but can't touch the guy she likes because that will cost him his soul.

But the Dark Swan series is about a a female shaman who banished fey and monsters from the human world. Then some prophecy pops up about her first born and now demons want her to have their kids. xD Here's a line from the summary that I love.

Just typical. No love life to speak of for months, then all at once, every creature in the Otherworld wants to get in your pants...

Iltu 05-11-2009 08:52 PM

Leenie- I'll just show up at your house like 20 years from now and be like, "HEY REMEMBER ILTU FROM MENEWSHA? Did you ever read Harry Potter?"

Yuri-

SPOILERX

I know! I was like "GASP! He kissed her! Gasp! He's going to sleep with her!? Yay! They're in love! Finally, dhampirs puting themselves and their feelings before Moroi! <3"
That's what I thought... but then I rememebred it qwas mason who told her, and why would he lie? Perhaps he was doing it so Rose would go after the Strigoi with super determination on her own for some reason. We can hope...

I don't know- I think it would be neat for that whole "what if Rose puts Dimirtri before Lissa or vice versa" to come to a head, and Lissa going after Rose would be a neat way to do it.

I think no matter what, they'll be okay, you're right... After all, they have the Shadow Kissed bond and Lissa has always seemed super understanding... At least until she flipped about Rose leaving. But that was a stressful situation for her, afterall.

Dream- I love Richelle Mead's other books! My very favorites are the Georgina Kincaid novels, just because Gerogie is SUCH a great character, and I adore all the minor characters. I can't wait for Succubus Heat to come out, or Thorn Queen. I'm really happy that Richelle writes at the speed of light. XD She has three more books coming out this year, one for each series. <3

I finally finished The Ragwitch! It was a great book, it just took so long for me to read, for some reason... Oh, I cried at the end! It was so sad! It's my favorite Garth Nix book, though, after the Abhorsen Trilogy.

Ooo~
Both series sound amazing!
I'll definitely have to look into them!

XDDDD
That's hialrious~
Not to sound totally immature, but that line would definitely make me want to read the series just to see what the heck the author was talking about xD;

I knowwww <33333333333333333
But but - maybe he didn't see all of it? Maybe he just assumed like everyone else?
It's possible he could have been wrong -- I mean, he -was- fading after all xD

Yeah -- that's true~
That would be a pretty big plot thickener~

Definitely~
To be honest though, Lissa was being pretty darn selfish then. I mean, what if the situation was reversed and it was Christian who was turned Strigoi? Would she just leave him to suffer or would she go after him and save him from a "life" he doesn't want by killing him? :/
I don't think Lissa really thought about it -- I think all she saw was a heartbroken Rose who was "acting emotionally and not thinking clearly due to the loss of so many friends as well as the one she loved".~
So I mean, I can understand why she acted the way she did, but after she realized how much Rose loved Dimitri and how much he loved her and the bond they had, she would have understood and wouldn't have made as bit og a deal out of it :/

Iltu 05-12-2009 12:29 AM

Yuri-

SPOILERX

I can't wait for the next book to come ooooout! I need to know Dimitri's fate!

Oh, I agree! It was totally selfish of Lissa. But I kind of like that for once we got to see that not so great side of her. Since Lissa tends towards being a nice person, and Rose is so close to her anyway, we don't get to see alot of 'mean/self-centered/controlling' Lissa.
I like the character development it posed, sort of deepening Lissa's flaws instead of the near perfection we see from Rose's eyes. I mean, when Lissa does do bad, it seems Rose always chalks it up to her spirit power or her social standing or something, not Lissa's own personality.

I love this whole convo in spoiler things. XD

Dream_and_Die 05-12-2009 12:38 AM

@Yuri: Not to be immature but that's why I got it. XD Any author who puts that on their book wins in mine. xD

Everyone is talking in spoilers. I feel do left out. xD

Iltu 05-12-2009 12:44 AM

Dream- Have you read the Georgina Kincaid novels by Richelle Mead? Just out of curiousity, since you've mentioned the Dark Swan series. :3

Dream_and_Die 05-12-2009 12:46 AM

Planning on it. I went out to buy them the other night but my books store didn't have them, or I may have been in the wrong section. I might be buying them this week though.
Now that I'm out of school I'll be reading like a banshee.

Melissa 05-12-2009 12:49 AM

Dream - XD I know what you mean. I miss when Anita used to go out and raise zombies and do regular police work. I liked the mystery of what was going on, who was doing it. And now...eeehh....yanno. But it's odd I still read them and stalk Laurell K. Hamiton's blog and buy the books the day they come out. I feel a connection to Anita even if the story gets annoying I know something good always happens. Honestly I love the characters that Laurell writes.

I just reread Blood Noir and it really wasn't that bad, sex wise. I can't wait for the newest book to come out in June.

I feel like rereading a lot of the books because I read most of them last year (9 of them + blood noir) but I was power reading through them to be caught up for when Blood Noir came out. So I don't really remember too much for any particular book. Everything mushed together.

Iltu 05-12-2009 12:49 AM

Dream- They're my favorite Richelle Mead books! Normally I don't go for books with so much sex, but those are just... they're just too good to pass up. The characters are spectactular.

Dream_and_Die 05-12-2009 01:01 AM

@Iltu: Duly noted - get them faster. XD

@Melissa: Uhm they turned into one giant book for me basically. I read them all in January. No really I read the entire series in about a month.
I think Blood Noir didn't have a lot of sex in because she didn't remember. xD
I stalk the books too. I plan on buying at least my favorite books, then maybe all of them. I started getting the Merry Gentry series because they were at a book sale and then one was 75% off at B&N.

Iltu 05-12-2009 01:09 AM

Dream- Get them as fast as you can! XD
And I assume you have read Storm Born? Are you rooting for Dorian or Kiyo? :P

shadowfoot 05-12-2009 01:12 AM

I am slowly but surely creeping up on my goal.

Iltu 05-12-2009 01:12 AM

That's good news, Shadow! How many more books have you got left?

Melissa 05-12-2009 01:37 AM

Dream - oh god. all in one month. that is insane. I read those ten in 2 months and that was killer. I was dreaming Anita Blake for weeks. Some of those books are 400+ pages. Having Micah's book in the middle saved me because it was a good break from all the heavy reading.

I think I own every book Laurell has written, Nightseer, Strange Candy, all Merry Gentry books, all Anita books(all the Anita Marvel comics too), Death of a Darklord....I think that's all...

oh yeah I friended you on my Shelfari...XD

tirethminet 05-12-2009 01:38 AM

@yuri - waldens might have them, but it'll be more rare than b&n.
boders, i have no clue about. just. no clue at all.
first editions should still be on the shelves 2-3 months after publishing. you know, if they aren't a bestseller like twilight or something. @[email protected];;
but, really, the only reason to have a library of first editions is to either be a serious collector or a seller. :3
oooh, books. love 'em and hate 'em.

@ljos - good that you got your friend to watch it with you. it's must more fun to have someone there to talk about it with and make jokes while the movie is playing.
really, though i think the director is to blame for the actor's acting. especially since rpattz did somewhat well in the harry potter movie. (if it weren't for alan rickman and david tennant, the gof movie would have been completely ruined for me, though. XD)
i believe meyer had a good hand in the movie and approved of everything that went through, so. actually, i guess she is partly to blame as well for letting that go through. xp
my mom has gotten more awesome as the years go by. i just found out a few months ago, she was watching the cartoon, gargoyles, when i was a child, too young to watch it.
but all she knows about x-men is what's in the movies, so i'm slowly teaching her the rest. x3

@dream - you. stop talking about books. i still have a lot i need to read, plus other stuff to do. :<

@iltu - now i'm nervous. XD

ps.
SO GUYS.
guess what movie i'm watching while i start on my costume.
here's a hint:
i had to be talked out of watching it repeatedly before. >:3

DariaMorgendorfer 05-12-2009 01:42 AM

Hey guys, what's new?

Iltu 05-12-2009 01:43 AM

LEENIE IS WATCHING A NAUGHTY MOVIE! :gonk:
Um. I'm bad at making jokes. I should just shut up.
I have no idea what you could be watching. I must have missed those conversations. D:

DariaMorgendorfer 05-12-2009 01:59 AM

I am watching Rachel Maddow. She's talking about how stupid the "don't ask don't tell" policies are.

tirethminet 05-12-2009 03:01 AM

OH, YAY, STUPID POLICIES! /sarcasm

i am not watching a naughty movie. :<
dream should know (and if she doesn't i will tsktsk her)
but.
here's another hint:
FIVE DAUGHTERS.

Knerd 05-12-2009 03:09 AM

Pride & Prejudice, perchance?

DariaMorgendorfer 05-12-2009 03:13 AM

Little women is 4 daughters right?

tirethminet 05-12-2009 03:15 AM

ahahaha knerd got it~
and i just finished, what chance. :3
it's the american-ending version, though. D:
but i still like it cause it makes me giggle like a little girl. XDDD

yes, little women is four.
even though i've never read all the way through the actual book.
kid's version was awful, though. :[
my dad totally took me to louisha may alcott's house one time, though.
he's a history nerd. XD

DariaMorgendorfer 05-12-2009 03:35 AM

I read little women as an adult. It was ok...I did cry when the sick sister died...but then again, I cry at commercials and all kinds of sappy crap. I hate it....I have a movie a friend loaned me MONTHS ago that I haven't watched, just because I haven't been in the mood to watch a really good, but really sad movie and cry like a fool.

tirethminet 05-12-2009 04:04 AM

i hear you.
i'm still nervous to watch pan's labyrinth since my mom told me she cried when she saw it.

DariaMorgendorfer 05-12-2009 04:07 AM

Yep, I cried at the end of Pan's Labyrinth too. It was good, but oohh was it sad at the end.

I am such a dork, I even tend to cut of watching Titanic before Jack dies. That's one of the reason's I don't own that movie. Gah! I hate being a ball of mush.
