I've only listened to one audiobook in my life - Cheaper by the Dozen.
Funniest thing I've ever heard. It's a good story to begin with, but hearing it read aloud always had me rolling on the floor laughing. Twas good times.

I've listened to a fair few audiobooks, but I think the Harry Potter books were my favorite. :D It's all done by this British guy who does great voices.

Sizzla- People tell me Harry Potter is great as an audiobook. I've heard that the Inheritance cycle is awesome too, because the guy does an adorable voice for Saphira or something.
I tried to listen to The Amulet of Samarkand on audiobook last September, but I didn't like the voice at all, so I got like five minutes into it. XD

I'd be horrible with audio books. I have to do something with my hands while I listen, and whatever that something is usually ends up distracting me to the point where I'm not listening anymore. I'll end up doodling and getting way into what I'm drawing, or my mind will wander, or something like that. xD I've never bothered.

Cherry, my problem is that my mind drifts as I listen to things, so I'd miss huge chunks of information. XD I wanted to listen to The Amulet of Samarkand because I'd read it and figured that it would just be fun background noise as I worked on stuff, but, like I said, the voice was awful for the character.

We have 2 book cases... but we seriously need more because I have TONS of books that are in boxes in my parent's shed and even more that we have a lot on top of and on the floor and all over really. It's a mess but it's a good mess. I made my fiancee promise me he's going to get me bookcases for my mother's day gift. Which he still hasn't gotten me. I can wait... I mean we can stack the books somewhere until then. We'll have a garage... it's all good!

Knerd, ohh, I didn't know Cheaper by the Dozen was a book, I've only heard it as a title of a film that looked extremely uninteresting. I'll check it out, thanks!
Sizzla, that's Stephen Fry, he is the master. However, I have listened to one of the HP audiobooks - I think it was number 6 - and the way he read Hermione irked me so much I couldn't listen to any others. :s
I'm not interested in Eragon at all, sorry. I saw the film and I didn't find the storyline or characters interesting at all.. and honestly? I could never take a fantasy book seriously whose main villain is called Galbatorix. It would make me giggle too much to focus.
I love audiobooks, I love listening to them before I go to sleep to help me drift off (although if the story is exciting enough, it can sometimes keep me awake, just like with regular books) and while I'm editing photos, because I don't need to think that much while I'm editing and it helps me keep at it. I have such a short attention span that if I'm only editing, I'll get distracted quickly by something else. If I'm listening to a book, I am already doing something else, so.
I just got new bookshelves, my old ones were about to explode from all the books there. Now it looks neat and tidy, and I could organise my books by themes! :D

Feyona: As soon as I'm out of the door my room is being turned into a guest bedroom so I imagine all my books will go into boxes and into a cupboard somewhere. Bookcases are a good gift. If I ever get a place of my own I'll probably raid Ikea for bookcases before I've bought anything to sit on. ^^;
ljos: I have Stephen Fry's Moab is my Washpot on audiobook. I'd like to get the audiobook version of The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy read by him to coincide with the film too. I almost wish I liked Harry Potter just so I could listen to him read for hours. -_-
My favourite audiobooks are the early Discworld audiobooks read by Nigel Planer (Neil from The Young Ones). I don't like the Tony Robinson ones, they're abridged and his voice gets on my nerves. That sounds awful, but I just think of him as being Baldrick and the way he gets higher pitched towards the end of a sentence drives me crazy after a while.

Well I'd say that sounds like me... but i'm a sucker for having comfy things to sit/lay on while i'm reading so I bought the furniture first. We really need an extra recliner... I bought the first one and my fiancee talked me out of buying the other one they were selling. He wishes he hadn't now because we keep fighting over it. :sarcasm:  But I let him have it most of the time and only sit in it when he's gone.

Can I just add: Mmm, Ikea. I need to go there soon and find something really comfy to sit in while I'm reading. Seriously, why is Ikea so awesome? <3
Kat: Stephen Fry is magnificent. I love watching him, although I have to admit I've seen shamefully little of him. I need to get a hold of Jeeves and Wooster, or trick my friend into inviting me over to watch more of A Bit of Fry and Laurie.
Maybe I will give the HP audiobooks another chance.. I've been thinking lately how I would like to read them again, but I have such little time for actual reading, so listening to them would probably be better.
I really want to read Moab Is My Washpot! Does he read the audiobook himself? That sounds very tempting... and I didn't know he had read Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy! I have parts of the radio play, but it's been so long since I listened to it. Hmm...

Furniture!: Gah, I used to have a bean bag in my room. Now since the only chair I have in there is an office chair so I tend to read sitting on my bed. >.<
I've never shopped at Ikea because even if I bought furniture I'd have nowhere to put it. If they had anything with a name remotely similar to a ski jumper (woo team Norway) I would have to buy it.
ljos: I have the Jeeves and Wooster boxset and series one of ABoF&L (I always want to call it 'Boffle' when I see that) but I've seen the rest at one time or another. There was a stage of very intense Stephen worshipping I went through a year or so ago. ^^;
The version of Moab is my Washpot I have is ripped from a cassette, and it is Mr Fry reading it. It's gone missing from iTunes but I think it's about 3 hours altogether.
I'm sure when the the Hitchhiker's film came out they released a new audiobook read by Stephen because he was the voice of the guide in it. I was thinking of checking out the newer episodes of the radio series, relatively speaking, of h2g2 because I don't think I've heard anything past the tertiary phase. ITV have put the Granada adaption of Brideshead Revisited on net player and I can't get over the fact that Simon Jones, who was Arthur Dent in the radio and TV series, is the Earl of Brideshead. XD
+ On the actual subject of books I've started reading Wyrd Sisters and despite the fact I've already had to consult lspace for a couple of references that went over my head I'm enjoying it. ^^

So I'm starting on my new list. I've read about 6 books with in the past two weeks. I also just got the new Maximum Ride book so I'm very in the reading mood. It's probably because school ends tomorrow so I'm trying to read my brain dead. Well at least till I have to read my AP Gov. Book.

I bought my bed and my bookshelves in Ikea, I think I also bought my desk there and I might have bought my desk chair there as well. That's all the furniture in my bedroom that I've actually bought, I have a couple of things that I got used, so I don't know where they are from originally.
I found some Stephen Fry audiobooks I'm going to try to get, maybe I can check the library too. Though the library rarely has very good audiobooks..
I would love to hear him read Hitchhiker's Guide. :D
Yay Wyrd Sisters! Yay Granny Weatherwax! : D
My internet is acting strange, maybe this is a sign for me to get off the computer for the night. *sigh*

Oh my, that sounds like alot of work! D: What all do you have to do? 12 cases sounds like alot... *only has to highlight stuff and take notes on her books for English, doesn't know about history* This is my first AP class as well, but as I'm only a junior this year, I have between two to four more coming my seinior year. XD; AP biology and AP English 12 for sure, perhaps AP statistics and government is well. Depends on how this AP class goes, and also on how sane I am at the time of choosing my classes. :P

@Iltu:: It is a lot of work! I have to read each case and find what the significance is in each and important facts. A bunch of other stuff as well, I just can't remember it all. The only way I see my self reading this book is forcing myself off my computer and going outside with a blanket to lay down and read. lol, yeah my friend did his scheduling for next year and out of his 8 classes 7 are AP, his 8th one is a study hall. I'm pretty sure his brain is going to melt from the stress. XD

Good luck to you! D: That sounds awful. Oh, poor guy! At least he allowed himself that one study hall, or I think he'd go quite insane!
If anyone remembers, a while back I mentioned that my iPod had gone AWOL... She has been found! Rejoice, for The Shiney Doom and her shiny self has been recovered! *dances with her iPod* I'm so glad my mom found it! It was in the laundry room. XD

Kat: The audiobooks are expensive to borrow? Don't you just pay for a library card? O.o
I wish my library had Doctor who audio. :C They haven't really caught on yet with the audiobooks in general, one of them has an.. okay collection, but most of the city librares just have tapes and most of it is.. well.. sappy love stories, crime investigation stories or biographies. None of which is really my kind of thing.
I just took part in the scaries role-playing game EVER and now I am scared shitless. Good thing I don't really have any exposed corners in my room - wardrobe in one, window right up to another and bookshelves in the other two. Otherwise I would probably spend all night staring at them. Looking for.. huge, black snouts.
D:
I managed to trick my cat into my room with me - they're usually locked in the laundry room over the night - and I feel a bit bad about leaving the other one outside. But if I had both of them in here, they'd start chasing each other and I would never be able to sleep.
Also, I have audiobooks. They help me forget. :|
Oh, and I have nasty sunburn on my legs now. I spent almost all day lying outside in the sun reading comics and forgot to put sun lotion on my legs. Ahhh so irritating!

Iltu: Yay for The Shiney Doom! I love finding out what other people have named their iPod/mp3 players. I've had my iPod for three years now and even though it has a stupid name (Bosie) I don't have the heart to rename it.
shadow: Bejeweled! I have a game on my phone which is a rip-off of Bejeweled but with Paris Hilton on it and once I managed to block out her face it's actually quite addictive. >.<
ljos: No, our library cards are free. You get a Books card and if you like you can get a Sound & Vision card too. It's free to borrow books but you have to pay to borrow CDs/DVDs/CD-ROMs. I don't know if my library struck a deal with the BBC for audiobooks or something, but they have a lot of their adaptions of novels as well as all the sci-fi radio stuff.
When my dad used to play the Call of Cthulhu roleplaying game his friend made up a campaign using real places from a village/town in the North East and as a result my mum (who listened into the games) is terrified of going there.
My parents stayed over at a friend's house last night so my cat, who usually sleeps in their bedroom, spent the whole night howling. She still hasn't stopped now and they're home. -_-

Kat- Hehe, I know! When people do actually name their iPods, it's often quite amusing. A friend of mine has an iPod named Waka Laka. XD I almost named mine D'iala, after a friend's character, but D'iala is a man and I decided that my iPod was a girl. Awwww, Bosie is an adorable name! I think I may just have to have a dog named Bosie someday...
Awwww, your poor cat and poor you. :XD Did she keep you up all night, and have your parents given a very big hello to her yet?
