I decided to start reading Sellevision because I just wasn't in the mood for Lord of the Flies.
Has anyone read Sellevision? Or heard of it?

Feyona - It's about various people who work on a shopping channel.
I suck with descriptions, so I'll give you amazon's.
I edited out a few things that I felt spoiled too much of the book.

Quote:
This first novel dives behind the scenes of Sellevision, "America's premier retail broadcasting network," as the channel confronts its first juicy scandal. Much-loved and handsome host Max Andrews has accidentally exposed his private parts during a "Toys for Tots" segment, and the flood of invective from outraged viewers forces the network to fire him. Meanwhile, another beloved host, prim and perky Peggy Jean Smythe, receives insulting e-mail from a mysterious fan named Zoe, whose snide commentary about Peggy's hairy earlobes and clumpy mascara sends Peggy over the edge into Valium addiction and heavy drinking. While Peggy Jean seeks solace through the guidance of Debby Boone and rehab, someone else must step in to peddle the Princess Diana memorabilia and the Dazzling Diamonelle merchandise. Either of two lead candidates for the job may also be the creepy e-mail stalker: Trish Mission, the innocent, young newcomer, or Leigh Bushmore, executive producer Howard Toast's mistress.
Lura - You should read it! It was good. :D
A short, light, easy read. But very entertaining and amusing.

Well I just might look into it once I finally get settled down enough to read all the books I still have waiting for me on my shelves...

I started reading The Court of the Air today. Books don't usually challenge my vocabulary, but I find myself having to look things up--this was in the young adult section, but I don't think that does it justice. It's shaping up to be an awesome steampunk sci-fi novel.

It did... but we still have to move all our stuff and that's a hassle in and of itself..

About Skin Trade...
We bought it... like right when it first came out... and my fiancee read it first and I just started it and I like it already. You see Edward again for the first time in a LONG TIME. I missed Edward.

Hehe boy was I nerd, my birthday went by and what did I do? I read through 2 books ^^; Well, I finished the Mistress of the Art of Death and then I read When the Ghosts Scream.

Mistress wasn't good but I finished it, I just do not like the writing style. The plot sounded really promising to me but the execution just came across dumbed down so not something I would recommend.

Ghosts was good. I basically devoured it and ran out to get the author's other two books ^^; It goes through hauntings in the United States and looks into the possible causes, this book focusing on hauntings related to crimes. So now I'm working on Leslie Rule's other book (technically the first ghost book) Coast to Coast Ghosts which is the same format but a lot more generalized.

Oooh. Awesome. When I was in 5th Grade I had to read 500 Books that year to win a Contest. And, I did it.
Granted, they were mostly small books, but still, I was so proud of myself. :P

I'll take on the challenge of 150 Books. My List will be Fantasy and Educational.

We got a puppy yesterday.... he's going to be as big as a horse... he's less than 6 months old and he's already bigger than any of the full-grown beagles at my fiancee's parent's place. O.O;

Better update my list too. I'm reading Murder on the Orient Express right now. All Agatha Christie books make me want to have been a posh person in the 1920s. >.<

Eep, The Girl Who Kicked the Hornets' Nest is coming out in English in October and I haven't read The Girl Who Played with Fire yet.

Ahh, I need to read Agatha Christie one day, I think. Feeling like an upper class fop in the 1920s is a good feeling. :D

So I just got done watching all of season one of TrueBlood today. It makes me really want to read the books, but I'm in the middle of the Atlantis series by Gena Showalter (two of which I read during the TrueBlood marathon), which are surprisingly good. For an actual Harlequin series, there's actually a good plot to the story. xD
Really I'm not trying to mask my embarrassment at reading HQN books XD

Heh, well I finished Murder on the Orient Express. It was different from most of the Poirot books I've read before because usually the book isn't set out so formally.
I missed Captain Hastings too... he's sort of like the reader in the sense that you think you're starting to understand then Poirot comes and puts you right. ^^;

Ah, I thought I might manage to read the first chapter of The Girl who Played with Fire last night but I ended up reading tonnes of it. I want to know everything! I'd also like to know why aren't the Millennium trilogy films don't have a UK release date. They'd be a heck of a lot better than that rubbish Wallander TV adaption we got if people want to see a real Swedish detective story.

I am finally a summer-librarian again and working here is so dangerous. Every other title I put in the shelves makes me think 'Oooh, that sounds so interesting!' and after ten minutes I'm starting to freak out because I want to read it ALL. And then I just get overwhelmed. I'm reading enough books already and I'm having enough troubles finding time to finish those books. >_____<

I've been shelfing a lot of Agatha Christie, makes me want to try reading her even more. I also want to read Sherlock Holmes as I never have and uh, the new film coming out intrigues me. Mostly for the choice of actors and because it looks shiny. It also seems to portray Holmes as an action hero, something very different from what I'd imagined from the things I've heard about the books.
Mmm, shiny. (Mmm, Robert Downey Jr. (Mmm, Jude Law. (>.>)))

Have to go away for camp for 6 weeks, T_T and can't bring any books! But once I come back, I'll start a goal for 365 books in a year :) Hopefully I can make it!

Interview With the Vampire seems to be one of those books I've started reading at least three times and always managed to do it at a time where I'm too busy to continue reading it enough to get properly into it. I finally have now though and I quite like it. It's.. refreshing, to say the least, after the Twilight madness. I always have to keep from staring at people like they're mad or at least frowning when people ask for any of the Twilight books at the library.
