Hmm, I need to update my list. I've just been lazy. I need to stop being lazy and just do it.

I also am excited because my b-day is Tuesday and that means gift certificates to book stores. All of my family just knows that is the thing to get me. I've gotten books and gift certificates to Borders or Barnes and Noble since I was a kid and I always love 'em. So, hopefully this year people will get me Amazon gift certificates like I asked for and I can get twice as many books as normal with my Kindle instead of paper.

Just updated my booklist. (yay for one more down!). This challenge is actually making me get done with the books I've been putting of to the side for a long time.

My friend just sent me a bunch of comic book trade paperbacks in the mail today. So my list will be filled with those now. XD Some of them look really interesting.

Melissa: yeah I don't recognize most of those. :sweat: I'll have to see if I can pick them out at Borders next time I work.

None of the Borders in my area carry any of them except Demo and once in a while Mice Templar.
Its sad how most Borders/BnN/bookstores carry mostly Marvel/DC books. If it doesn't have a super hero on the cover than its hard to find.

Melissa: the borders I work at actually has a pretty decent variety. I would say about a third of them are not marvel or dc. :yes: I'm just getting into graphic novels (as opposed to manga) so I'm not familiar with a lot of titles yet. A lot of the people who work in the stock room are big graphic novel fans, so I think they probably make sure we have a nice variety. :)

It was painful, especially since they had books autographed by Holly Black- I really wanted one! But I ended up with only The Sight for my friend's birthday, because it's one of my favorite books and she really wants to read it, but lost her copy a few years ago. :lol: And then I got her FU, Penguin, and a bookmark with the Wicked Witch of The West on it, because we always joke that we're going to play the songs No One Mourns the Wicked and Ding-Dong The Witch is dead at her funeral. :P
And then I went to Target and got her a bowl and some chocolates. ...Poor thing was forced to share them with us.

hmm, that one sounds good - might borrow it from the library if I see it :d but in the library, i'd say that the graphic novels are split between marvel and dark horse. I kind of like the dark horse ones better because their plots are so different from each other :D like, one can be about Lucifer and the next could be about a random lawyer or something, and then they twist up the plot XD

Yes Darkhorse has some really good books. They tend to have weird/very dark storylines.

yup very dark :) especially the japanese mangas XP one of the authors that they publish writes stories so dark one of them actually scared me XP (I read it scanlated because I think that it's so twisted that it would never get published over here)

:D I'm just starting with that series :D I got all the books at home and finished the first book already :D pretty good :) but I haven't found time to read it between juggling manga, 20+ Laurell K. Hamilton novels, the school's book study (kite Runner - heck, just remembered I didn't finish that one yet), homework & assignments, and extra curricular activities @[email protected] and not to mention I need to find sometime between all that to make a cloak for my Lenalee cosplay and make some gloves for myself since I don't practice piano anymore so my circulation's so bad that my fingers freeze really fast. @[email protected] omg........*$4!t*:shock:!!! I just realized how much stuff I got on my hands -:o *[email protected]* I might not come on for a bit (nah, I might still come on, but hopefully a lot less Xd) :headdesk:

oh yea, btw, I bet the movie's gonna be 18+....now let's see, I got to find someone to take me to that movie..... but then again, I might be 18 by then :P

Which Laurel K Hamilton series are you reading?

I have yet to read anything by Neil Gaiman. I am a bad girl! :gonk: I've got The Graveyard Book by him out from the library though. An artist I like did some beautiful fan art of it, and I felt compelled to make it my first Neil Gaiman book! STILL haven't gotten around to it, but I will!
