November 2011-November 2012 booklist

I think I'll try this again...

Bishielurfer 10-30-2009 08:38 AM

Hey~! So, totally off-topic question....who's doing the NaNoWri?

RisikaFox 10-30-2009 09:20 AM

O.o What is this NaNoWri that you speak of? I've never heard of it.

Knerd 10-30-2009 02:58 PM

NaNoWriMo = National Novel Writing Month

The point is to complete a 50,000 word novel during November.

I participate every year, but only as encouragement to finish my novel. I never try to get it all done at once. It's just nice to have so much support from the writing community and talk with people who are just as inexperienced as I am.

woah, sounds cool, but my english is verrrry bad ^.^''''' (though not as bad as math X))

Dream_and_Die 10-31-2009 05:26 PM

So I just finished the Cirque Du Freak series.
It was pretty good overall. The ending was a little trippy - in a good way though - so I fear that they won't continue with the movies.

shadowfoot 10-31-2009 08:44 PM

I never finished the Cirque Du Freak series...maybe I will have to do that...

~Black Petals~ 11-01-2009 12:39 AM

This sounds like a great challenge!
I have collected quite a number of books over the years, but haven't read them all yet. I guess this is a good chance to catch up on some reading!

I'm pretty new to the category, any suggestions on favorite genres people like to read?

Dream_and_Die 11-01-2009 03:38 AM

@Shadow: I recommend it. I read two to three books a day because they're meant for younger teens but they're still good. ^_^

@~Black Petals~: Welcome! I personally wander in the fantasy genre the most. xD Though I do like historical.

I stopped because they weren't all out yet, and somewhere in between volumes, I never picked up the next one.:yumeh2:

Dream_and_Die 11-01-2009 04:17 AM

Go go go!
I really liked them. xD Larten is my favorite person ever.

mwahhaha 11-01-2009 04:58 AM

I just finished reading The Iceman Cometh. Anyone else here read that before? The ending was pretty sad and . . . odd with a little cheesiness thrown in. I feel like I have to mull this read over.
What books have you guys read where you had to stop and think after reading it versus sighing and closing the book contentedly?

Bishielurfer 11-01-2009 12:06 PM

So, question--who is doing Nation Novel Writing month?
I see you are, mwahhaha.
And to answer your question....The Dark Light.
It's also my favourite book ever. X3

Dream_and_Die 11-01-2009 05:43 PM

I want to participate, but school and work are just to overwhelming right now. X_X
I barley have time to write my character sheets. T_T

Rabid Rainbow 11-01-2009 06:19 PM

Ooh, this looks like fun! I just started reading Peter Pan, so I guess that will be #1!.

Rabid Rainbow's Book List
1. Peter Pan by J.M. Barrie (finished 11/6/09)
2. Ozma of Oz by L. Frank Baum (finished 11/3/09)
3. Al Capone Does my Shirts by Gennifer Choldenko (finished 11/5/09)

mwahhaha 11-01-2009 06:48 PM

@Bishielurfer The Dark Light, eh? I'll have to check that out. I like books that sorta make you stop.
Yup, I'm doing Nanowrimo. I'm pretty excited about it. :3 I'm guessing you're doing nanowrimo, too. What type of story are you working on? Today's the first day. W00T!

LaVida 11-01-2009 09:05 PM

*sigh* sadly, I'm very bad at writing and I'm getting a homework over-load currently, the only reason I'm still on is because of the halloween event :P

shadowfoot 11-03-2009 05:48 AM

My favourite book ever is Villains By Necessity by Eve Forward. Awesome book that flips the idea of heroes...

Reeny 11-03-2009 08:50 PM

Hello!

I came across this thread while clicking the "Spy" link! ^_^ I love to read ... and according to GoodReads, I've read about 35 books this year. Well, 37 if you count the two I'm currently reading. Cool!

I will be posting my list soon!

Nice to meet everyone!

EDIT: Oops, I miscounted! Some got lumped as trilogies, even though I did reach each book separately! So, it looks like it's more than I thought! ^_^

@Sizzla: ^_^ My wit makes a random appearance every month or so.

LaVida: In English there is the word barley and barely. Barely means almost, and barley is a form of a grain. I am forever typing barley by accident, and leenie always corrects me. So if you look at my sentences definition wise they technically have "a type of grain" instead if "almost."
It was snide comment to the leenie.

Welcome Reeny!

@leenie: PS Nice reference to Repo! ^_^
