Why has it taken me so long to read Terry Pratchett's books!? I am about halfway through Nation, and I am loving it. Can't wait to get started on the Discworld books. X3

I don't think I've read any non-Discworld Pratchett books (with the exception of Good Omens).

I like watching the gold shine. Ooh, sparkly.

lmao, looks like Kat just loves her gold XD I like to look at all my sparkly items shine, although I still don't have as much as I do on Gaia....kind of makes me miss it, but seriously, Gaia's grade totally deteriorated :( and then I ditched it when they renovated :P Neon just didn't suit Gaia.

I finished the Weather Warden series before the new year! (If only by 20 minutes.) xD Now I can start a fresh series for the new year.
I started reading Frankenstein as I said, only to find that about a quarter of the way through the book, there were several pages ripped out and big pieces of text inked out! I hate it when people destroy books. :gonk:
Alas, I guess that's what I get for thinking I can get good deals on hard-covers at the flea market.

Still though, I immediately started on another book after being forced to trash my first choice. Everyone knows I adore Laurell K. Hamilton, so I decided to read her first novel. I enjoyed it, although it seemed like it wasn't as well-written as the rest of her books. I've heard her say that she'd like to write a sequel to it, and I think I would really enjoy it if she ever does.

Now I'm reading Brisingr, which is the third novel in the Inheritance (Eragon) series by Christopher Paolini. I love fantasy books and this is turning out so far to be just as good as Eragon and Eldest. I'm only about a quarter of the way into it and I'm having a hard time stopping reading to do other things.

@Iltu: Moving away from good book stores is always sad. There was a used bookstore near here, but it was in an old historic building that practically collapsed whenever you opened the door. So they moved, and I don't know where. T_T

@leenie: I'll come down for spring break okay? I didn't want to overload your house since Sara was visiting. That and I hadn't seen other people in forever (like before I saw you last). Didn't we try to go to half priced last time? It just never happened. xD

Me too! I got Volume one and three of Absolute and I ordered two online (and saving up for four ^_^ ).

:nods: I opened a book I got at a flea market and some little kid had taken a purple sharpie to about half the book.

I agree, while I didn't think it was her best book I would still love a sequel.
I finally got Divine Misdemeanors from the library. xD (Does anyone know how many pages are in it? I returned it to the library without writing it down...)

ahhhhh, i have to read those percy jackson books before the movie comes out.
also, you know, all the other books i need to read. =____=;;;

andandand, dream, spring break~ then it will be warmer. and probably won't rain? maybe?
seriously, it's going to rain, like, three inches this weekend.
i think there's a curse that whenever any of you visit, it causes a ridiculous amount of rain to appear.

So Knerd, can I start a list for 2010 that's separate from my 2009 list? Or do you want them all in one post?

Sure, you can start a new list if you like.

After a whole year, your old one is buried pretty far in the thread, there's really no need to keep reusing it for so long.

I LOVE WINONA LADUKE!

Part of my thesis project is about the Katsi Cook Mother's Milk Project and LaDuke has provided so much information and research on it. All Our Relations is a great book. It makes me so happy to see someone reading it.

I've been scanning the forums and just happened to notice your reply quickly. So I figured I should probably add it to the master list while I remembered.

If you end up enjoying LaDuke, I'd also recommend Vandana Shiva to you. She's published a lot of works about biodiversity in India, women's rights in environmentalism, and the relationship between industry and food.
