well, I would more likely just borrow it from the library and read it when my head hurts from too many words XD
|
Lol, LaVida!
I might actually read A Demon the Freezer. I didn't like The Hot Zone so much, it was okay, but I really enjoyed Ken Alibek's book. Though I imagine he's written more by now. I just checked out three non light books though, and I put World War Z on hold so I'll be busy for awhile. |
hah hah XD I actually got a ton of books I should read, but I'm actually addicted to these two series I got on two tabs and reading them simultaneously Xd I'm hoping I finish them soon so I can start on my other books :d

Demon in the Freezer was okay... I did learn a lot about smallpox from it. I've also read The Cobra Event, and it was also just okay. It gave me some good ideas for a RP character of mine (he's a god of Plague). Oh, bioterrorism... But neither were nearly as horrific as Hot Zone. I want to read Panic in Level 4 as well. Just haven't made it to the book store to buy it. :D |
I liked it, but I prefer to read high fantasy like Tolkien and Jordan.
|
Guys. I am SO BEHIND on my book goal. D8 I've not finished a book since February eighth, I've only read eleven since my start date, and only nine this year. I wanted to shoot for ten a month, but I've been so busy. *flail* I'm almost done with three books right now, though, so maybe that'll help me some.
Someone slap me, I need to get to reading! :< |
I totally understand how you feel iltu, and by the way, I love your sig (Meant to say something when I first saw it but forgot)
|
So if I do start this challenge do I start from today or the beginning of this year? I just took a stack of books back to my friends house I read this year. So far I think I have read 12 this year. I mean just on Saturday I read one paperback alone. ><

Then I will start today February 23, 2010 with a goal to read 125 books.
Does that sound good? |
Go for it! And good luck!
|
Thanks Roxxii
|
Whoo, just finished one! *does a dance* Crashed by Robin Wasserman. Can't wait for the third book! That trilogy poses some really newat thinking questions.
Thanks, Roxxi! I do love the power of punctuation. Good luck, Pocket! |
This is going to be embarrassing.
I have a very unmasculine obsession with paperback romances. |
No shame in that, people like what they like, no? As long as you enjoy your reading, that's all that matters. :)

Favorites?
Dr.Zhivago by Boris Pasternak. It has everything I love in a good book: romance, conflict, war, and history. Les Miserables by Victor Hugo and Lord of the Rings by J.R.R Tolkien ...an no it is not a series. It was written as one book and published in three parts. Tolkien had not hand in its publication! *growls like the Ringer he is* Frodo Lives! |
PocketNerd, you win. Tolkien is my favorite author. I've been re-reading pretty much everything he's written at least once a year since I was about eight... and I'm 24 now. xD
|
Kami understands!
I am 18 and have read Lord of the Rings at least 56 times and the rest of his books at least 3. I had at one point every movie in Extended Version and the cartoon Hobbit. I loved the information on Tolkien as a writer and a person in the special features on Return of the King special features. But I hate how they ruined the character of Denethor in the movie vs. the book. He really is not nearly as insane as they attempt to portray him. |
Wow, some real hardcore Rings fans here. xD I love Lord of the Rings, but I'm pretty sure I only read it once through. I'll probably read it again sometime, but I've already got more than enough reading material to keep me busy for some time. I myself just finished Am I Blue?: Coming Out From the Silence, which is a collection of short stories about coming out. ^^ I really liked it, and am glad I stumbled across it when I went to the library the other day. I don't know that I'll be buying it though. |
Heh *swear drop*
I started a book before bed an I only have about 50 or so pages left. It has taken me a little under 15hours to get this far and that was not constant reading. I will report on it later once I finish. Oh and all of you should check out Terry Prachett |
A good friend of mine is always reading Terry Prachett. Maybe I'll pick up a book one day ~
Also, I wonder how often Knerd updates the lists and who finished :ninja: I surpassed my 2009 goal, and I posted my 2010 list somewhere or another... /edit -pokes links- Found it xD; /edit O_O I always realize a couple seconds too late that I'm not on the right account, haha. -plays games and then goes back to my main- I was just trying to edit my 2010 list.. It's outdated by a month again... And the edit button wasn't there. owo |
I finished the first book by Brent Weeks "The Way of the Shadow" and am now on "Shadow's Edge"
|
Pocket- I've not read Lord of the Rings yet. *shame* I own it, but I just love The Hobbit SO MUCH that I fear reading Lord of the Rings and not loving it even more. D8
Kaidat- My best friend might actually kill me if I don't read those books in the next month, she loves them! |
Well I recommend the first one that's for sure, I just barely started the second so can't say if he hurt the trilogy or not but I doubt it, he seems to be a pretty good writer, just wish he had one of those character lists so I know who's who without having to reread but other than that it's def worth a read :3`
