Red Dwarf is hilarious but some the humour is very dry. It's more of a sitcom than sci-fi most of the time.

Gah, getting my hopes up that I might finish the challenge this year after all but I'll be losing time to travelling and university starting again. >.<

I have started reading men are from mars and women are venus by John Gray I'm up to chapter 4 so far, not too bad of a book in fact.

It's probably pretty true, too.

I'm working on another FMA oneshot.

I've never read it but I remember my parents talking about it when I was much younger XD. I started The Foundation by Isaac Asimov today! Good book!

Nice. I'm gonna have to bug my mom to see if I can read it.

There's a trilogy of Star Trek books my mom has, I forget the names of them though.

Very much so, when written by the right author. So far my favorites are Shadows on the Sun and The Vulcan Academy Murders.

I've never read a Star Trek book either, but then, I've never been into the fandom. It's interesting stuff, I saw the movie that came out last year, but I've never been really driven to watch the show or anything. I definitely want to read some Star Wars books someday, though!

Yaaaay, I'm starting A Farewell to Arms next week for school. :sarcasm: I've had more than enough Hemingway already, thank-you! I have so much respect for him as a writer, but I can't bear his novels. I was not fond of Old Man and the Sea, and The Sun Also Rises was the absolute worst book I've ever read, I'm sorry to say. Needless to say, I'm not excited for a third round... At least we're reading it first, and getting it out of the way. I am so excited for all the other works we're reading this year!

Old Man and the Sea was rather boring.

The Star Trek movie was great, and I'd go so far as to put it close to the original Star Trek movies, but not at quite the same level. The actors they used in the movie last year did do an amazing job as the characters, though. Better than I would've expected! I was thinking that Hollywood would ruin Star Trek like they did The Lion, The Witch, and the Wardrobe (I've seen the original movie of that done by the BBC, and it was better than what Hollywood did).

In addition, I'm pumped about the next Trek movie in 2011. People are saying that it's a one-timer, but those of us who grew up on Trek know different; there can't be only one Star Trek movie. It just doesn't happen. There's at least five or six.

I've read all those books mentioned by hemingway. The only one I remember is old man and the sea. Mainly cause I had to read it twice for the same school. Once in 8th grade and again in 11th grade.

Old Man and the Sea was a real thrill compared to The Sun Also Rises. I broke down crying three times during that book because it was so boring and I hated it so much! It was about them angsting, being selfish, and drinking excessively the whole time. With no plot. ...So yeah, not excited for more Hemingway. Like I said: much respect for the man, but his writing isn't my thing.

Taiyo- As someone who loves the Chronicles of Narnia, I really liked the newest version of The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe! I thought they did a beautiful job with it. I thought the BBC one was awwwwful. I seriously do not know who they put in charge of that. :x

There's gonna be another Star Trek movie? Cool! I was not aware, I'll have to plan on seeing it.

You're not the only one! I can't wait until they start advertising it on TV!

Another movie I'm looking forward to is Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. It comes out in November!:eager:

Oh my god, I know! I'm not big on the Harry Potter movies, but I loved the first two and the sixth was pretty good. And even so- it's Harry Potter! Always something to be excited about!
My friends and I are getting a big group together for the midnight premiere and we're all dressing up for it. I'm still deciding between being Luna Lovegood, Sirius Black, Remus Lupin, or Molly Weasley, but I'm leaning towards dressing as Molly.

Same here, but another one of my friends already has a Hermione costume and it'll be fun to have as many different people as possible! But man, my hair can do Hermione fabulously.
Good luck getting a costume together, I'm sure it will be great! <3
