I don't have any video game systems. Well, I do have a PS2, but the disk tray's busted.
Whee! Only a few more chapters until I'm done with Brisingr! |
Holy monkeys Hala! That's a lot of books! nice going!
@iiToxic - Lol I know what you mean. I've been so bad about going to bed lately. I keep staying up till 12:30 or 1 reading Winters Heart. I'm also rereading The Importance Of Being Earnest. Just got into the second Act. How's your list? OOOHHH!!! Video games!!! lol I've got too many systems. Mainly though I play PC games but sometimes you just have to go a bit old school and break out the SNES to play Mario World :XD I have an NES too :P but I find it much more easy to play my favorite NES games on the Wii. @Taiyo - Nice! I really liked that book :) |
Just finished the first volume of Chronicles of Chrestomanci the other day. It was sooo good. <3 So glad I took somebody's recommendation and picked it up, I'm working on the second volume now, which is made up of books 3 and 4. What's really bugging me about the third book(which is where I'm currently at)... Who's the Chrestomanci? I'm dying to know if it's one I became familiar with in the first two books, or a new one. xD

I do have a question. I've recently been into the Dresden Files by Jim Butcher which by now I've read almost all of them except the new one that's going to be coming out and the ones that my library doesn't have. My mom recommended to me some Nicholas Evans and Nicholas Sparks books. I've also been hitting up the teen section in my public library for some books and while I have found a series I really like by Joseph Delaney I'm wonder what other books everyone in here would recommend for me to read? I like to read fiction as you can probably tell but I do have some Egyptology or better yet Archaeology on Egypt on my list. So any ideas or would it help if I put my reading list on here that I've read so far?

Carn~Tut Tut!
Im still trying to finish Love Letters,i have about 5 more chapters Dx |
Haven't been on to update so I just did a big update on my list - I don't think I'm going to make 50 books this year. I've been too busy :(
The book I just finished was great though - a fantasy steampunk by Hunt - it's the 2nd book in the same world - the first was Court of the Air and this one is Kingdom Beyond the Waves. |
@Sia:Those titles sound pretty awesome! What are the books about?
It would be nice to hear an opinion of someone who read the books ^^ |
Quote:
Aww, sorry to hear that. :( And I'm so jealous! I wanna read Brsingr!! I still have to finish Eldest, though -- as soon as I see it in the library again, anyway. Quote:
:?: SNES? NES? :?: I've heard of the NES because there's a piece of furniture called a NES in Animal Crossing, and you can play a game on it (one per NES) and they're kind of fun even though the graphics are blotchy. :XP Ooh, I remember once reading a fantasy story about a girl who was immersed and was in an RPG and got stuck there... :stare: |
@Aisha: I could make a ton of suggestions, but it might be easier if I knew what you've already read. ^^
@siaasgn: Oooh, those books sound interesting. I don't know that I've read any 'steampunk' fantasy, although I may have without realizing it. xD What are they about? @Zilithandria: Quote:

Finished Brisingr earlier today!

Nope. I didn't say manga or graphic novel, you know; I might consider comics, mangas, and graphic novels a type of book, but I wouldn't just call them "a book" either. :XD But this story that I can't remember the name of was in a book with a few other fantasy stories. |
@Zilithandria: The .hack world as a whole includes a few novel series. ;)
|
Oh. I didn't know that. Thanks for telling me. :XD But I swear it wasn't a .Hack// book!! |
xD You're welcome. And I'm sure you'll think of it eventually.
|
I sure hope so!! :XD Say, what's white scarf you're wearing? It's neat. :o |
It's actually a spirit of some sort. It's part of the Obakemono CI... from February of this year, I think? But yeah, isn't he cute? ^^
|
Ah, thanks for telling me. =3 And yes, he definitely is cute. *Steals him and runs away* |

yes! Another Dragonlance reader!
|
Hehe yeah I have more Dragonlance books then I do R. A. Salvadore books but manga is what I have the most of.
|
Lucky...*remembers her paltry manga collection*
|
most of mine are actually used. got them at a bookstore named McKay's. they sell used games, books, and CDs along with movies.
|
@Zilithandria: Nooo... That was my soul. X.x
@Aisha: Wow, lots of authors I'm not familiar with. xD But if you generally like young adult fantasy... I suggest Terrier and Bloodhound by Tamora Pierce. They're the first two in what looks like a promising new series. Also, the His Dark Materials Trilogy by Philip Pullman is excellent. The Lost Years of Merlin series by T.A. Barron and The Chronicles of Prydain series by Lloyd Alexander I also highly recommend. And since you mentioned you read manga... Have you read NightSchool? I'm really enjoying this new series by the author of Dramacon. ^^ |
I'm mad at my university library. they don't have manga!
|
@ Risika: nope can't say i have. i have read Fruits basket, Tsubasa Chronicles, Wish, Ai Aoshi Yori, Vampire Knight, Violinist of Hameln, Mars, and a few others that I can't remember from the top of my head.
@Taiyo: Sorry but when I went to college mine didn't either. The library I go to now does though but it isn't that great of a one but they are working on it. I checked out Mushishi there and I enjoyed it but it ended up being on my old book list from last year and when my laptop crashed so did my booklist. |
