I never intended to read them, but my cousin and aunt bought me the first three, and I thought it would be rude to not read them. :lol: Hated the first two, and thought the third one was, in comparison, decent enough to make me curious about Breaking Dawn, so I read it as well. The books are now in possession of my sister, she loves Twilight and has more use for them than I do. :yes:

Twilight just makes me want to barf. There's going to be a point in the zOMG story I'm writing on Gaia where some airhead asks the character based off of myself after she's been turned into a vampire if she sparkles in the sunlight. Clearly, since Gaia's vampires are not the stupid sparkly preppy idiots in Twilight, I doubt the girl who's turned into a vamp would take kindly to being asked if she sparkles.

Needless to say, the airhead would ge t a lovely punch in the face.

@carn: I didn't know you could have people design avis for you! That's awesome! :shock:
@HOBBIT PEOPLE: Peter Jackson is directing it too, I'm pretty excited for that. I think he did a great job with the lotr movies.

Eastriel - Lucky you! I'm about halfway done with Winter's Heart and 1/4 way done with Fantasy Lover and Foundation and Empire. I've only finished one book and a play since I started in August >.<!

My friend and I are both very traditional people, who just happen to love computers.
Recently, though, he bought the new Kindle. A debate between us ensued about the pros and cons of the loss of the written word. I am devastated! I love the feel of paper between my fingers, the smell of newsprint, and the thought that is evoked when reading an ancient book - How many people must have read this before me? What were they like? Etc..... So I am going to try and resume my challenge as much as possible. (I'm adding the latest copy of The New York Times, b/c it cost me $6, so ITS A BOOK :lol: )

Back on! And I just told my dad how I got carn hooked on the Dark-Hunters.

Lol :XD I'm halfway done! It's pretty darn good too! I never thought I would like romance books this much but I really like. And it's funny too :P I wonder if there might be a different ancient book with Julia of Macidon stuck in it lying about somewhere... :stare:

Last night I was rereading Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows instead of cleaning my room like I was supposed to, I am not a good daughter. :B

Oh goodness, the first time I read it, I basically started crying at that point I just mentioned, and did not sop until well after I finished the book. It was a good couple hours of alternate sobbing and sniffling. :lol: But you're right, J.K. Rowling is an excellent writer! Even if one's not a fan of her style, it still has to be said that she creates an extremely vivid and tightly-drawn world and plot. I've read very few novels where everything is as tightly woven and well-planned as they are in the Potterverse!

And as far at the deaths go, I have to say that, on the flip side, it'd be a bit ridiculous if there weren't so many deaths, you know? A war is being fought against and extremely powerful enemy, if a small number of people died, it would've been a bit silly. J.K. Rowling also pointed out (she was talking about two specific characters, but I feel like it applies to them all) that part of the reason the death was there was to show the magnitude of the evil being faced, or something to that same effect. And it does make sense: we can know Voldemort killed Harry's parents and how terrified people were of him and the things he did and how wicked his followers were and all sorts of things, but it doesn't have nearly as much meaning until we see that destruction first hand and experience the loss of characters we loved.
...Of course, I do wish fewer people had lost their lives. Like, zero. That would have been a great number!

You bet I am! I've been meaning to reread them anyway, and I'd like to be ready for the film. Got my ticket for the midnight show and everything! And of course I'm dressing up. ;)
